Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I had the chance to read that book, different than what I expected. I hope that they do the move right since Chris isn't with this world any longer... I am really looking forward to seeing Lone Survivor once deer season is done(2weeks from today)..
  2. Great show. This season seems like it is going to be a bit more dark than previously... maybe because every person that got shot sprayed blood everywhere. It is on my DVR as well.
  3. I had a pit a few years ago. It was by far the nicest dog that I have ever had. If she was in the yard she would run towards people to the end of her leash and fall on her side to have her belly rubbed. They have a bad rep because of a few people that mistreat them. I lived in a city at the time that required a minimum of 100k insurance on the dog. I set it at 250k because I figured that the insurance companies lawyers would fight a lot harder if it was a larger amount of money. Sucks that it happens. If the dog has no other history of it after they test for rabbis etc they should let her/him come home.
  4. So according to my digital caliper the stock one is .195 the Fin is .1995. However on my dial caliper they are .197 and .198. I can take my dremel to it and just sand it a bit. I mean for me .005 of an inch is next to nothing. I checked the angle as well. They appear to be the same angle. IDK if it matters, but it is a Brazos HPE. I wouldn't think that it would make a difference, but just in case. Edit. So I took the gun apart completely as I saw I have failed to clean it in a bit(my bad). I reassembled everything fully, and it slides fully forward. still seems a little stiff, which I can deal with it. I am excited to venture out to the range and try it out... Even if it is going to be 12 on Sunday
  5. I got mine in the mail today, and put it in the gun. The slide seems a lot more firm(?). I would say that if the slide was a 5 before, with this in it is 8.5-9. Also the first several times that I racked the slide it didn't go all the way forward. Am I doing something wrong, or does it need to be worn in? I have all winter to get it to loosen up, but just wondering others experience. Love the feel of it. Fits very natural for my hands.
  6. That is pretty cool idea. when I read brass, I had to look again at the picture.
  7. I just ordered one of the nitro Fins, but I was also looking at the picture on the previous page. I see that there is a thumb rest that is built into the safety. where can I find that part? Looks like it will be a winter of draw, grip, and reloading practice in the basement for me.
  8. No kidding, I will pick up the safe myself with a raffle like that. Wow, Should be no problem selling out in a short bit.
  9. I don't know why my quote function wont work, but that is what I had been doing. First I used my production gun barrels, but they allowed nearly everything I had resized through the lyman. Then once I got a few FTF in the Edge I used that and found about 200 that didn't fit 100%
  10. So I have bought the case gauge, and the EGW die. Is the case gauge the last step in the process, or should it be used in another spot? It would seem that if using the EGW die instead of my standard Lyman die than I wouldn't have to use the case gauge. That being said I don't know if I could express the level of annoyed I would be if I was at a travel match and had FTF because I wanted to save 10seconds 3 months prior. Thanks for everyone help. It seems after reading this that there are a couple of us that are getting help from everyone.
  11. Ohsevenflhx are you saying that it does do any good to chamber check or use a die to get the bulge out? (sorry wouldn't let me use the quote function.)
  12. I have a stack on that I got at a day after thanksgiving to get me by, and now I need to replace it already. The best quality that is has is that it came with the door pocket system. I really only put mags and 2 .22 pistals in the holders though. I just dont know if I could trust Velcro to hold my STI. My grandfather had a gun room in his basement. It was about 15x12ft room, and I have always wanted one. Wife and I are looking for new houses, and that is the only thing I care about. Can I build a safe room in the basement? I would also like to see pictures of others safe rooms if anyone wants to post them.
  13. I agree with the go big. Spend the money once and do it right. Last year I got a safe on a day after thanksgiving sale, and saved a few hundred bucks.
  14. So I have heard about a U die several places on here that are used to get the glock bulge out. So I went on Brownells to try to purchase one, but all they had was a lee bulge buster. Has anyone had experience with the Lee Bulge buster or can you point me in the correct direction for a U die?
  15. It is like the courtesy flush, always leave a stall buffer if possible.
