  1. I had the chance to read that book, different than what I expected. I hope that they do the move right since Chris isn't with this world any longer... I am really looking forward to seeing Lone Survivor once deer season is done(2weeks from today)..
  2. Great show. This season seems like it is going to be a bit more dark than previously... maybe because every person that got shot sprayed blood everywhere. It is on my DVR as well.
  3. I had a pit a few years ago. It was by far the nicest dog that I have ever had. If she was in the yard she would run towards people to the end of her leash and fall on her side to have her belly rubbed. They have a bad rep because of a few people that mistreat them. I lived in a city at the time that required a minimum of 100k insurance on the dog. I set it at 250k because I figured that the insurance companies lawyers would fight a lot harder if it was a larger amount of money. Sucks that it happens. If the dog has no other history of it after they test for rabbis etc they should let her/him come home.
  4. So according to my digital caliper the stock one is .195 the Fin is .1995. However on my dial caliper they are .197 and .198. I can take my dremel to it and just sand it a bit. I mean for me .005 of an inch is next to nothing. I checked the angle as well. They appear to be the same angle. IDK if it matters, but it is a Brazos HPE. I wouldn't think that it would make a difference, but just in case. Edit. So I took the gun apart completely as I saw I have failed to clean it in a bit(my bad). I reassembled everything fully, and it slides fully forward. still seems a little stiff, which I can deal with it. I am excited to venture out to the range and try it out... Even if it is going to be 12 on Sunday
  5. I got mine in the mail today, and put it in the gun. The slide seems a lot more firm(?). I would say that if the slide was a 5 before, with this in it is 8.5-9. Also the first several times that I racked the slide it didn't go all the way forward. Am I doing something wrong, or does it need to be worn in? I have all winter to get it to loosen up, but just wondering others experience. Love the feel of it. Fits very natural for my hands.
  6. That is pretty cool idea. when I read brass, I had to look again at the picture.
  7. I just ordered one of the nitro Fins, but I was also looking at the picture on the previous page. I see that there is a thumb rest that is built into the safety. where can I find that part? Looks like it will be a winter of draw, grip, and reloading practice in the basement for me.
  8. No kidding, I will pick up the safe myself with a raffle like that. Wow, Should be no problem selling out in a short bit.
  9. I don't know why my quote function wont work, but that is what I had been doing. First I used my production gun barrels, but they allowed nearly everything I had resized through the lyman. Then once I got a few FTF in the Edge I used that and found about 200 that didn't fit 100%
  10. So I have bought the case gauge, and the EGW die. Is the case gauge the last step in the process, or should it be used in another spot? It would seem that if using the EGW die instead of my standard Lyman die than I wouldn't have to use the case gauge. That being said I don't know if I could express the level of annoyed I would be if I was at a travel match and had FTF because I wanted to save 10seconds 3 months prior. Thanks for everyone help. It seems after reading this that there are a couple of us that are getting help from everyone.
  11. Ohsevenflhx are you saying that it does do any good to chamber check or use a die to get the bulge out? (sorry wouldn't let me use the quote function.)
  12. I have a stack on that I got at a day after thanksgiving to get me by, and now I need to replace it already. The best quality that is has is that it came with the door pocket system. I really only put mags and 2 .22 pistals in the holders though. I just dont know if I could trust Velcro to hold my STI. My grandfather had a gun room in his basement. It was about 15x12ft room, and I have always wanted one. Wife and I are looking for new houses, and that is the only thing I care about. Can I build a safe room in the basement? I would also like to see pictures of others safe rooms if anyone wants to post them.
  13. I agree with the go big. Spend the money once and do it right. Last year I got a safe on a day after thanksgiving sale, and saved a few hundred bucks.
  14. So I have heard about a U die several places on here that are used to get the glock bulge out. So I went on Brownells to try to purchase one, but all they had was a lee bulge buster. Has anyone had experience with the Lee Bulge buster or can you point me in the correct direction for a U die?
  15. It is like the courtesy flush, always leave a stall buffer if possible.
  16. I think everyone else is saying the same thing. Shoot what you will have the most fun doing, and what you will be competitive at, if that is your thing. I just started shooting USPSA in the late part of summer, and have only shot maybe 12 matches. I was shooting single stack because that is what I could get the equipment to shoot. However I shot my last match with a new limited gun. I wont be competitive for the next year(maybe more), but I have so much fun with it. I look forward to Tuesday nights starting on Wednesday mornings. Do what brings you the most fun, because there certainly isn't any money in except for a very select few. Good Luck!
  17. This could be a post pictures of your gun collection thread, kind of like the reloading bench thread. Show what you got?
  18. A couple of years ago a bass Pro shop was opening in town. I told my wife that I would like to go there to look around. She asked where it was located... I restrained myself when I informed her she had driven by the building every day(twice per day at least) for the last 6months while it was being built, and it was right next to us when I reading the sign of it opening in a week.
  19. I haven't shot a theme match yet, but I would say that it sounds like it could be fun. The Blackhawk down theme sounds more interesting to me than all the Zombie slayer 20XX stuff. However like everyone else has said, having well put together stages are very top of the list.
  20. I can't tell you the number of times I have been asked a question that I 100% know the answer without a doubt, and after I give that answer it is argued. At that point on the sales side of things I remember one of my first lessons, 'feed your ego or feed your family". Working in a dealership is very hard, and it is an extremely high turn job. Most employees done get the proper training because the dealership doesn't want to invest the time and money in someone that is going to quit in less than 3 months. However the other side of that is true as well, if they aren't worth the investment of time and money then what option do they have but to find something else. Having become one of the more senior people at the dealership I offer any help I can to anyone that needs it. Because you are right, a lack of knowledge not only looks bad for that person, but the dealership as a whole. Solution to that is simple. The dealer should charge the sales people for training programs, and then pay them back for it 1/"x"th for each "x" months they stay. If they stay and become good it is free, if they leave it is on them. When I worked for a Fortune500 company that is how I got my MBA. They paid 75% of the cost of each class (excluding books) after I passed each course. When I got my degree (assuming I was still there) they paid me for all the books and the other 25% of the cost of the classes. My first experience at an auto dealership for training went something like this; " go upstairs in the conference room find the Joe Verde sales tapes and watch them". I get up there start plowing through the videos. Half way through take lunch, come back open the next box of tapes. half are missing. Call down to the manager, "just watch what is there" was the reply. So I finish the 8 our of 10 tapes, and go back to find the manager. He sent me home for the day. Next day show up excited and ready to learn more about the process but when I asked what I should do? His reply, 'find someone and sell them a car'. Amazing training! I find what you say interesting because I would gladly pay for training. I am 6 days away from being able to become Master Certified. I have completed I don't know how many hours of training(200-300), but because the process has changed I don't know if I will be sent for that final class/test. It would require a 2 day trip to Chicago(several hour drive), and 2 nights in a hotel. All of which I would pay for if the dealership would sign me up for the class. The trouble is that I am 1 of 2 people that do my job and the other guy is already Master Certified so they don't see the value in sending me. I would gladly pay for it as well, but someone higher up has to see the ROI. I know this got slightly off track, but I wanted to share that it is not always the person that is standing in front of you that can be blamed for lack of knowledge. Granted they could do something on their own, but sometimes the barriers become too much of a burden.

  22. "Have fun, and dont shoot anyone"
  23. I had no idea about the $50 a few years ago. That seems that they might have known there was a problem, and were doing replacements at a marginal cost. Sort of like goodwill gesture(?). I know that in the auto industry the manufactures that I work with both have goodwill plans for vehicle that are slightly out of warranty, and run into major repairs. Purely a guess based on my work experience though.
  24. My question is what is a bunch of years? Are they supposed to warranty something that is 5-7+ years old? I mean I undeerstand that it sucks that this has happened, and I have heard the stories in reviews online. Which wieghted into my chocie to purchase the chargemaster instead of other products. Mine has worked great for 18months now...fingers crossed.
  25. am I reading this correctly that the back up(secondary gun) has to be in the same division? So as an example I couldnt switch from a limited 2011 to a use an MP in production mid match if the 2011 had a non fixable problem? Or would I be foreced to use the Mp in Limited? I am asking because I am trying to figure out if I should get a HP Edge while i wait for a custom gun, or if I should just get a MP and shoot production while I wait. Thanks for the help
