  1. Yes, it's 1.165 All is well. Problem is with Wolf primers. I do get about 4% failure rate Bought 10k of them, using for practice. With CCIs I used before I never had any issues. I use CCIs for match ammo also.
  2. I would oil all unpainted surfaces ASAP. Mine was rusting in places after 1 week.
  3. This is primers I have. I did chrono 3 different loads and those primers very consistent!! If they fired every time. Hammer slipped 1/2 way, murphy law I guess. Light hit and it fired. Out of all of those light strikes almost none fires on a second/third try. Also, non mulfunctioned when I was running them through chrono. Maybe when I make those small batches for chrono I run press slower and do better job seating primers? I need to think about this..
  4. Yeah, DQ itself does bother me much. I'm glad everyone is OK and I didn't get injured. I only wish THAT round had a bad primer
  5. Tested lightened spring, same thing, light strikes like 5 times out of 100. ... and I went home with DQ. Hammer slipped when I was lowering it. Got too "confident" with this thing. Need to be really careful next time.
  6. Ok, I received lightened spring from CZC and firing pin from CGW Firing pins OAL: CZC: 2.500 CGW: 2.502 Longer? Yes, but I wonder if this is just normal wear on mine 2 thou can be just polished back vs brand new with machining mark. So, it looks like they ARE the same. CGW pin has more tapered/sharp nose and CZC is more rounded CZC pin heavier. There is more meat, less of this "thin" area. More force needed to get it moving? But more intercia? Springs: On a picture it shows what pins come with and CZC lightened spring on top CGW smallest in diameter. Original one I had most tough spring and feels that way. If I compare CGW spring to CZC spring when they sit in a slide - they "feel" the same to me. It's not scientific but it is what it is All in all, I will install lightened CZC spring with original firing pin and keep going. I will use CCI's for competitions. CGW pin will be a spare, I didn't have any spare parts for the gun, now I do
  7. Stuart said that he measured and they are no different (CZC vs CGW's). I ordered one from CGW's just out of curiosity, will post back when I get it. I also bought lightened firing pin spring.
  8. I don't have bullet feeder (just case feeder). Filling primer tubes actually relaxing break for me from cranking loads. I would get bullet feeder first..

    CZ

I read 1.1 but personally load to 1.165 (RN plates 115/124gr). It all depends on your gun and type of bullet you use. Just do a plunk test to see.
  10. I checked. Already have extended firing pin. Ordered lighter firing pin spring. Will see.. Took apart and other than some light lube there was nothing in a hole and firing pin moved free and nice. Even if it starts to work with lighter spring - it will take a while for me to build confidence in those primers...

    Guide rod all chewed up

Nope. All <140pf loads and all stock, nothing replaced
  12. Out of curiosity and to double-check I dropped sized case into chamber, then loaded round. Drops to the same depth. I can freely spin round in a chamber and it rides on a case lip. Bullet doesn't touck rifling. So I guess my shadow doesnt "suffer" from that issue. Or maybe it's because I use RN type of bullets.
  13. Shadow custom with 2k rounds - guid rod looks like on picture. Is that normal? Or is that maintenance item? I shoot all minor power loads, <140PF for sure.
  14. Yes, the gun is "stock" CZ sp01 shadow CUSTOM from czcustom.com. Only thing I added to it was short reset trigger(they put it in). So, whatever they do to it - all standard stuff, I did not alter anything. And 2k rounds I shot before Wolf primers were all my reloads with CCI/Winchester SP primers FP channel can be an issue, yes, there is lube in there because when I clean slide with CLP or Ballistol - there is some that leak in anyway. I seat all primers as deep as they go and shellplate is tight on my 650XL So, if it's Shadow made end of 2013 - it should have extended firepin already. If it's primers - then?? I understand part about seating them deeper, but those should go off on second try? No? I have 4 rounds that look normal and I fired them repeatedly many times and they didn't go off. Does it mean primers just "bad" or I can do something so the start to go of more reliably? So far I see that I need to get other primers at least for match ammo..
  15. I will give as much history as possible so you can help me with ideas on what to check.. I had 6!!! light strikes today. 2 fired on a second time. 1. Gun have optional short reset trigger installed 2. Gun has maybe ~2k rounds through. 3. I only field strip/clean since new and last time I did it was maybe 600-700 rounds ago. I didn't clean it to see what kind of issue it might cause.. 4. I didn't have ANY mulfunctions until today. 5. One round was with high seated CCI primer, so thats a problem with my reload. 6. Other 5 is all Wolf primers I just started to use. They seat deep enough. So, is it primer issue? Out of 5 only 1 fired on second try.. Any experience with Wolf primers? Seems like they seat little dipper (not as tall??). I have 10k of them and really need to make it work.. Thank you P.S. I was really sceptical when people complained about Wolf/Tula. But first box of 100 and 5 light strikes? Kind of convincing... Too much even for practice ammo.
  16. I ginxed myself Today I had 4!!! light strikes. Not OAL related I guess, but still not pleasant.. Yes, I read other topic and it would make sense when you have to load shorter with different bullets. I always and only used just one type of bullet. 115 or 124 plated RN. From RMR and XTreme. They are uniform, pouinted and feed very good. No issues at all. Going to ask about light strikes in antother topic...
  17. Accuracy is good. I'm not sure OAL is "long". It's per specs and passes plunk tests no probl. Feeds well. And it measures similar to Blazer factory ammo. I can shorter it but don't see a good reason other than powder economy
  18. I already fired about 2k rounds with 1.165 (different powders) - no issues with Shadow. My last load is 4.2 of 231 and 124gr bullet.
  19. I load 4 pistol calibers, trying to use same powder for all and I use one powder measure. Instead of powder bars I use Uniquetek Micrometer adjuster. I can go from one load to another in a matter of seconds. Use scale to confirm but so far there was no need to readjust. It really works.
  20. I load 1.165 OAL, 124gr XTreme plated. Very light crimp. Need to make PF out of my CZ Shadow. What is your load of N320 in this combo? I will chrono it, just need a starting point. Thank you!
  21. Just checked size with my metric drill bits. Seems like it's 1mm in mine. Dawson video explained it. I wish my sight had this chamfer on a back so I can pull it in nicely. $8 for 3ft should last me a lifetime
  22. I recently got SP01 Shadow custom from CZCustom. Today I lost fiber insert, somehow it just fell out. Didn't find it. It's tiny one (compare to hi-viz on my other guns) What is the size and where do I order replacements? Is there DIY instructions on how to install it? Should I melt it somehow? Thanks!
  23. It's interesting that I have exactly same problem but I narrowed this down to specific brass. Just today I was loading and once in a while case wouldn't goi into the shellplate completely on my 650. Sometimes they did but then they were jammed in shellplate which resulted in hard priming and injection. To me it narrowed down to S&B brass which has thicker base. Should I ask for another shellplate or just discard all the S&B brass I see? Attached picture of S&B (left) with other case (right)
  24. Mine said 3.4 on test target but measuring myself it shows just below 3 repeatedly
  25. I have big hands too and can't operate slide release with my strong hand. My way of doing it was always with week hand thumb after seating mag and while establishing grip. And yes, it cost time compare to this "feature"
