Correct screws, torqued down correctly?  Not a flame, just asking.  I have as many through my 34.4 with no issues, I've had more with another mfg plate on my backup gun than I have had with the MOS.

Yes, went over that in detail with Glock support. The tech said I could consider getting better quality screws then the ones provided by Glock. He said they were rated at around 100,000 psi tensile strength and should be fine under most circumstances, but he said McMaster sold some that were rated at 140,000 psi. I tried to look them up, I wasn’t sure I found the right ones, and did want to pay $7 each for them.
then, I found them for $2 at Big Tex Ordnance. I never heard of them before, but took a chance since it was just a few bucks.

  2. Sorry to hear you all are having such problems.  I went the RL1100 route, and don’t regret it, but that doesn’t mean it was trouble free.

Maybe we are all of the wrong frame of mind to think that after spending so much for the press it should work flawlessly.

Does anyone on this forum know anybody that bought a Mark 7, or RL1050/1100 and took it out of the box and had it run perfectly?

It seems we all go through the “dialing in” or troubleshooting period where we tweak, adjust, or even replace/upgrade some parts before the press is up and running. And even then, when it’s working, as soon as someone mentions a new doohickey we immediately start considering whether or not to add it to our press.

Mine is finally running fine (manually), but I seem to want to replace my shell plate with an aftermarket and I don’t even know why. It never ends.

Hopefully, you guys will get things worked out and Lyman/Mark 7 support will be responsive and helpful. I’m watching this thread because I’m sure there will be a Mark 7 press in my future, just not sure when.

  3. It’s been a while since Tapatalk went away, and that’s not really an issue. What is an inconvenience is that the current forum software doesn’t seem very friendly to use on mobile devices.

is it possible to consider an alternative?  Another forum I frequent seems to work really well on mobile devices. Could we possibly see what they use and consider a switch?  I’d be happy to donate to help make it happen. Here is the site if others want to verify whether it works for them on their mobile devices before a switch may be considered:

at least they sell you 5 K and charge the hazmat fee, not like all the others that sell only 1K and get the fee five times if you would buy 5 k from them (5x1k).

I didn’t think they got the fee, I always thought it went to the shipper, FedEx or UPS.

Friend of mine was in a store in MO about 6 months ago and they had a whole table full of Federal SPP priced at $60/k with no limit.  Not exactly cheap, but that's the best price I've seen in a long time.

Damn, I’d probably drive up to 10 hrs to get that price if they had as much as I wanted…

Why get a slide milled when you can get the MOS ?  What, you think the Dot sitting  1/4" inch lower is gonna make a difference.. LOL..

Not at all, but it’s a much more solid mount to attach the sight directly to the slide instead of having a plate mounted to the slide, and then the sight mounted to the plate.
2 more screws to break, everything is thinner with less screw threads holding them in place.

I remember seeing those and never knew how that would work out.

Is it adjustable at all like a fixed auto sight is?

I dug out the package, It’s made by SDM Fabricating. It’s called “semi-adjustable” but I don’t know about that, maybe if you didn’t screw it down all the way you can get some height elevation. I loved it when I shot a lot of revo, but I am probably going to replace it with an Allchin sro mount.

What Sarge said is the simplest way to remember it. I just want to add: if you forget your barney mag (the one with 11) in your back pocket or elsewhere, that's a bump to open. Even if you never use that mag during the course of fire.

Been there, done that. But only because I self reported. I had accidentally grabbed the 2nd to last mag on my belt at make ready instead of the last mag which I normally keep 11 rounds in. Imagine my surprise when the slide locked back at shot #10. At least I got to load my mags to full capacity for the last 2 stages…
