  1. I keep going back and forth between Precision coated and Montana Gold jacketed.  I'm just loading my last case of Precision now, then I'll switch over to MG because I was able to score some here and there during covid, but in all honesty, once they are done I think I'm going to go back to Precision and stick with coated.  There's just too much of a cost savings for me not to do it.  I pretty much only shoot Glocks in minor PF and the same load in PCC so they are plenty good enough for me.

One of the best ways to identify a current-production Trigger Bar for the G-43/43X/48 is to look for a chamfer on the rear of the Vertical Extension.  New ones have it; old ones don't.  That isn't the only change; just the easiest to see without a full disassembly.

Does anyone know when Glock made the change to the trigger bar?

  3. I don’t like the online format, I’d rather It was a .pdf. I prefer the printed version so I can read it away from my electronic devices. And I can leave it on the break room table when I’m done to spark interesting conversations.

  4. It looks very nice, did you do the work yourself?  If so, how?

I had a Carver heavy magwell to balance the weight on the frame with the Toni  weight out front.  No matter what I did, it always turned in slower times than the gun without weight.

  5. I have been using CCI primers in a Glock with 4.0 lb striker spring for years with no issues until I switched from my RL550 to a new RL-1100 press.  I didn't mess with the swage at all, but the primers were not being seated anywhere near deep enough.  I just kept making small adjustments until the loaded rounds started looking more like what I was getting on the 550, and once I did that the problem went away.  It took a while to get there because I was afraid I was going to detonate a primer by seating too deep.

I don't know if it's Dillon's lawyers, or covid related or what, but the press did NOT come setup and adjusted for 9mm like it was supposed to.  In truth, it was a good learning experience to go through everything myself to get it running.

I haven't tried calling, yet. I'm having a hard time understanding why someone would invest in  features on a web site only to ignore customers that use those features. 🙄

it must be due to covid. Heck everything else is being blamed on covid. I’m sure I’d be a GM by now if it weren’t for covid…

    Get a spare

Don't do it!  I'm warning you, as soon as you get the spare, you'll start looking to buy another gun to put it on...

    It's an endless cycle.

    Edit:

They're out of stock now anyway, so you're safe for now.

  8. Back in 2017, I bought a Stoeger M3K shotgun and had it sent to Tom at MOA Precision for his Competition Upgrade Gunsmith Service. I also got a bunch of other stuff done. I was very happy with the end result, I thought he did a phenomenal job.
I know it’s not recent experience, and covid changed a lot of things, but personally I would not hesitate to reach out to him again if I needed to replace my shotgun.

My Glock trigger was/is the same as my Timney, 2.5#.  I only switched because my Glock trigger could only set off certain primers due to the lightness of the springs I needed to get it to work.  With Timney I can set off small rifle that I could not with my Glock trigger.  The only reason I switched to be honest, especially with primer scarcity.

No reason to leave the plantation because the Timney would not work out in your Glock.

I totally get this. I’ve had to bump up my striker spring to get their a few boxes of really old PMC primers that came my way. I’ll be glad when they’re done and I can go back to the 4.0 lb spring. This is also why I ended up trying the Timney.

that’s one of my fears. My participation level isn’t at the point where a dedicated backup gun makes sense so i don’t have another gen 5 to compare

this might be the thing that gets me to try a sig though…

I don’t get it, you’ve been shooting a G34 for quite some time, then you can’t get a Timney trigger to work so you’re ready to try a Sig?

have you considered maybe tossing the Timney in the trash and going back to the trigger you’ve used for the past 11,000 rounds and using that?  Or at least use it as a starting point to tweak in a different direction than a Timney???

sounds to me like the Timney is your problem, not the Glock. There are MANY other options for Glock trigger mods and all of them have been in use far longer than the Timney.
I’m a little ahead of you on this path. I pulled out my Timney a month or two ago and went back to Apex. I couldn’t be happier.
