CUZ, you can slow the speed by increasing the indexing speed and pause times at the top and bottom of the cycle. I can easily get to 600 cases an hour.

Thanks. If anyone is offering any discounts or sales for Memorial Day I’m going to pick up a Mark 7 for my press.

Just a final reply to what I ended up with for my Glock 41.

    Comp-Tac International holster for a Glock 41.

CR Speed C-BAX production holster hanger.

    CR Speed belt.

and 5 Ghost 360 Pouch Hybrid.

Everything worked out well with the holster and the Glock 41 worked great too!

Nice. I just ordered one of those Comp-Tac holsters for my G48 and I was very impressed with it.

Got the tracking info today. I will have the drive on Friday. I will post an update when I run off a few thousand cases

I’d like to see some pics and possibly a short video of it in action. A review of your thoughts too. I’m having a hard time deciding between the Dillon or Mark7 auto drive for my RL1100.

But, when you do send pics don’t let them show too much of your loading room setup. I get WAY too envious whenever I see pics of that setup.
    :)

Cuz, I have a MK7 on a Dillon RL1100. The firmware that came with the MK7 is the latest and I was able to process brass at 2500 RPH. I tried 3000 and 3500 for a few seconds and the whole machine was shaking like crazy.

I got the same answer re speed when I called MK7 to ask and order a machine from them. They told me it’ll take 6-8 weeks because they’re fulfilling orders for their resellers and distributors so I ended up buying one from DAA. The MK7 I got actually have “1050 Pro” on the belt cover.

    Setting it up.

    ETA:

I called Dillon yesterday to order some stuff and the rep told me that they’re shipping out the Autodrive this week.

    Great, thanks for the info.

The manual needs to be updated. I received my MK7 from DAA two weeks ago and it has the latest firmware.

Here’s a pic showing the available speeds on the tablet.

    Hey George,

sorry to bug you again, but do you have an auto drive on a Dillon press?  Or a Mark 7 press that’s automated?

Your pic clearly shows the speed at 1,000 rph, and I just got a response from Mark 7 a few minutes ago saying the slowest was 900 for an auto drive on the Dillon press. That’s interesting. Even the top speed on the 1050 Pro only goes to 2400 and your pic shows that it goes well past that.

    Thanks George,

But your pic shows the slowest speed at 1,000 RPH and not 100.  Am I missing something?

thanks, I think an old manual I downloaded some years ago had it at 1,000 rph.  I don’t mind processing brass at the higher speeds but I’d like to run the loading pass at around 500-700 rph until I got comfortable, then bump it up to 900-1,000 and wouldn’t expect to go much over that.

According to the current manual on their website, 900 rph is the slowest speed.

can anyone confirm if the new firmware can go slower?  I’m just wondering if George meant to type 1000 instead of 100.

Yes 23+1 and yes it does been using them for years

Nice, I think I'm only getting 22+1 with my Taylor Freelance pads, but honestly, this is my first year ever shooting Carry Optics and I came from Production, so finding 1 spot somewhere on the stage to do my 1 reload is very nice...

I shoot a Gen 5 glock 19 with glock 17 magazines and arredondo +6 mag extensions  for 24 rounds before I need to reload

Is that 23+1 in the pipe?  Or are you getting 24 rounds into the mag?  If it holds 24, does it fit in the mag gauge?

    Thanks.

I coach a kids' team, so I see a fair few rimfire pistols come through... a few thoughts:
    1. My one and only experience with the G44 made it clear it was garbage. Choked continuously with quality ammo. When Glock's marketing is "ultra reliable", that's not OK.

    2. TX22 has been a reasonably good, very reliable performer. One of the dads cleaned up at an outlaw steel match with it (it is literally his daughter's pistol; she won it at a side match at Nats). If I saw one cheap on consignment, I'd think about getting one.

    3. Ruger Mark III/IV pistols are super solid, have good QD optics support, and can be tuned to crazy levels. Unfortunately, the 10rd mag limit is a deal-killer for some sports.

    4. 1911 conversions can be OK if you stuff enough aftermarket parts in. They are probably not worth the effort compared to the Rugers if you don't already have a sweet 1911 lying around.

    5. Never found a Glock conversion reliable enough for competition, at least one that would work across ammo types. Mini-mags generally produced the best results, but even then, weren't quite enough.

    6. Beretta Neos was extremely reliable and easy to field strip, but has a garbage trigger, Weaver-spec rail, and 10rd mag limit. Too bad, I wanted to like it...

The P322 in its current form is not necessarily the pistol I want, but if Sig releases a competition version with a heavier X5-style grip, 25rd mags, and a fixed optic mount, I'd be in on that.

The fixed optic mount is what sold me on the Taurus TX22 Competition.  Finally a full size pistol that was relatively close to my Glock Carry Optics gun that lets me reliably run a full size SRO optic reliably.

Yes, the same optic will work on my Ruger MK-III Target, but it's a different type of gun entirely.  I wanted something that resembled my carry optics setup just to play around on the range, and for teaching newer shooters.  I have both a standard TX22 and a Competition model and they are very popular every time I take them out to play.

I am at present shooting and loading Xtreme plated but have trial lots of coated that I expect to move to.

Being a .45 dinosaur with a picky gun, I want 200 gr roundnose.

I have shot a fair number of Gallant, I notice they are back to full line production, they did not make all styles during Covid.

I have some Ibejiheads and Precision.  A few have done fine, I will shoot the remaining 400 each at matches and order from there.  Ibejiheads are less expensive.

I spent a lot of years shooting Berry's 200gr RS plated bullets in my S&W 625.  I always had the best luck with 200gr bullets in any of my 45 acp pistols and revolvers.

Didn't try Precision yet,  using Ibejiheads coated  for 9 minor and 40 major, no issues at all

I haven’t tried those. The good news is there’s at least 8 different coated bullet manufacturers out there. It’s interesting to read in some of the other posts why people choose one over the other. During covid I was more willing to try whatever I could get my hands on. Now, I’m less likely to buy a case of a different brand just to try them out as long as I know I can get a brand I already know works well for me. I didn’t care for that “experimental phase” and don’t want to go through  it again.
The truth is I’m sure every brand is plenty good enough for most of the games we play.

Shot one today, it shot very well and the trigger is great for a out of the box 22. I hate to say it, but it blows the Glock away without trying. Accuracy was good and it did not miss a beat.

Nothin has to try very hard to beat the Glock 44.  I’m solidly in the camp of Glock fanboy, but I’ll be the first to admit that I consider the Glock 22 to be a total failure for how I wanted to use it. I didn’t want a G19 trainer. I wanted a decent sized 22 with a decent trigger that I could mount a red to on. I can’t get mine to run reliably.
I’ve switched to the Taurus TX22 platform and am very happy with it.

The Sig looks interesting and if it will run with a Holosun dot I’ll probably pick up one or two of them as well.

Because it's not really broken is it, if you have the unserviceable part replace it. That's just my opinion though

If you are referring to my question about the worn striker spring, would I have to replace just the striker springs, or could I swap the whole firing pin assembly, so I don’t risk losing any of those pesky striker spring cups?  Then again, could I just swap the whole top end slide assemblies?
I guess the point of my question was more to help me understand where the line is. I think it’s more about preventing someone from swapping guns to gain an advantage.
with regard to an identical primary and backup gun, how many parts can you swap before one becomes the other?  All but the actual frame I suppose. I was only asking because I find it easier to bring a second gun to a match than a bunch of spare parts. If something starts to go wrong with one, I don’t want to troubleshoot it at a match, I’d rather just swap guns, and then worry about what went wrong after I got home.

MG Jacketed for major only. if you are going  on or below 1,000 fps coated is the way, more cheaper

My velocity ranges from 1025-1065 fps.  It's all minor PF with a 124 or 125gr projectile.  For a while last year it was actually easier to get MG and Precision Delta Jacketed than it was to get coated bullets from one of my preferred brands.  I've now tried 4 or 5 different coated bullets, and while they all work, I find I like Precision better than the others.  I'm not saying they ARE better, just that I seem to like them better.  The price is reasonable too.

  17. I have these and the Range Panda's for the SRO and Holosun 507c and 510c.  They both work well.

The only advantage I found is that the Range Panda offers a version for the SRO on a milled slide that fits a little better than the Dream Plastics version if the dot is below the slide.

If I had to lose one at the range, I'd rather it be the Dream Plastics version over the range panda version.  Plus, Range Panda offers better color choices.

  18. With regard to a firearm becoming “unserviceable”, my backup CO Glock gun is the same as my primary CO Glock except that it has a 0.5 lb stronger striker spring.  If I were to experience a couple of light strikes during a stage, I know that between stages I could swap the striker spring assembly and continue the match.
but would the light strikes make the gun unserviceable enough to be allowed to swap guns?  At our local matches I know the answer is yes.
But at a bigger match would I be required to swap parts to fix my primary gun before continuing?
