I have a 550 and a 650. 45 on the 550 and 38 super and 40 on the 650.
The pile of ammo you can make with a 650 is well worth it.

All I care is that i get to shoot my Hi-Point.

Get your weakhand up higher on your stomach as your right hand is grabbing the gun. Make that your push out point. Go for the bottom of the sternum.. At that point, see your front sight as you push out.
You are scooping the gun as you draw and index. the gun comes up, down, then up again as you are pushing out. Keep your upper torso still, don't move your back sideways as you reach for the gun. If you focus on staying upright and your head still, then the rest will flow easily.
We'll discuss reloads later.

Bear23,
Not ot thread drift but I would be interested in hearing the reasons the smith gave to steer you away from Major 9
Alan
Alan,
I don't want to give his name out, he is a well respected smith who posts on this forum quite a bit...
a few reasons:
1. pressure in the 9mm, he only advised new brass being used for a major 9 and not reusing it...there go your cost savings.
2. ejection, the 9 case being shorters tends to spin more upon ejection and causes more stovepipes, etc.
3. magazine reliability. I've got a bunch of mags that i currently run for super and i'd have to get them converted for 9mm, more $$$$$.
Now that being said, a good friend has one of his shortys in 9mm that runs, runs and runs. He did have an extractor issue awhile back with his aftec springs weakening, but fixed easily with new springs.

I've got at least 60K on my Edge...Still tight and runs 100%.
-
I have a double stack and single stack .40 that i shoot in IDPA. I just use my Limited loads (174 PF) as i shoot USPSA much more, don't have to fiddle with the press, and do not have to adjust to different timing issues with the load and gun.

I just ordered my new Open gun in 38 super. The smith i chose steered me away from 9 major for a variety of reasons. 38 super or super comp is a good choice. Much more flexibility in the powders you can use or try.

Need some info on parking an extra large RV during the Dust Devil Classic.
I've been informed of the Wishing Well RV park which is 8 miles away from the range.
...close but very few amenities there
Another RV park in Marana is only 23 miles away (according to Mapquest)
...all the bells and whistles but I've been told this is a 50 minute drive to the range.
Does anyone have any info on this situation?
~Nanci~
I know some just parked their RV at the range. No hookups i think, check or e-mail the range staff and see.

The reliability just isn't there with the hi-power.

I plan on my Dawson tuned factory Edge taking me to grandmaster. The gun has been nothing but reliable, eats factory and my reloads and has the accuracy that i need.
I see no reason for a complete custom gun other than you want one, they are nice pieces.

There's a lot I don't know about the issues, but I have to say, one thing confuses me. I figured the primary purpose of running classifiers was to provide a way for members to get initial classifications and to update them as skills improved or deteriorated.
As an unclassified shooter, I'd like to see as many classifiers as practical. Unfortunately, my club ran a special classifier just before I joined. I'm not sure if or when another is scheduled. To be honest, it's disturbing to realize that I'm looking at a minimum of 4 months before I can get my initial classification.

I'm sure there a few clubs not to far away to shoot with them as well.

That is Rio Salado. Nice work.

Open
string 1 8.25

HF of 7.0186
works out to 82%

Linda...great post.
Steve...I agree. I'm not convinced that the lack of classifiers getting counted is all that big of a factor. I'm sure it means something to many.
That's exactly why i don't shoot it. Makes no sense not to count the classifiers, even now. Clubs still pay the money for it.

That extra .10 of a second is worth it to get a good shot on a target, even close up.

Make sure you join us the 3rd of March in Las Cruces. Bring that little turd Kevin S. along too.
Will do...
Will you be joining us in Alamo this Sunday?
Will be there. I need to keep shooting my Open gun. Just got my A card to match my Limited A card.

I hope the US sold them those missiles. We don't want them coming back at us.
