Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. You could have FGW build you a 9mm top end for your pistol. Cheaper than an additional gun and then you'd have the best of both worlds.
  2. FLgrl, when are we hosting a match at your house? :-)
  3. I guess you would have to define "nearby." Tristate is good and that's the closest at 2ish hours.. Mobile pistol shooters association (mpsa.us) is good and that's 3 hours. Tallahassee is good and that's 3 hours plus a time zone that makes you get up 4 hurs early. Same thing with the good matches held at AIM Academy in Blakely, GA. Its 4 hours to east alabama gun club as well. lots of really good shooting all around, but none right here. Other than than, Destin is awesome, the most beautiful beaches you may ever see.
  4. I suggest going to the source and asking the guys at JP. They are extremely helpful. Good luck!
  5. Yeah man, def not cheap. But Massif stuff has worked really well for me and a lot of my buddies in Afghanistan and the Iraq. I like their pants for 3 gun too.
  6. http://www.massif.com/civilian/pants/battle-ax-combat-pant.html I wear these and really like them.
  7. I heard the slugs were discontinued so I called to give feedback and politely voice my displeasure. B&P in Italy decided to stop manufacturing and shipping them to the US with no back orders to be fulfilled. The slugs have been very accurate and soft recoiling for a lot of guys I know. Maybe if enough of us who use them call B&P USA at 1-800-683-0464 (I spoke with Kari McCormick) or email B&P Italy at info@baschieri-pellagri.com they will see the error of their ways. -N
  8. Also the clamp may walk backward as you put a bunch of shells through it as well. A little tape under it may help keep it in place and maintain zero.
  9. I would really like to see more matches where you can choose the gun you engage targets with. 2011 fnh had some of this and I hope to see more of it in the future. The ability to play to your strengths and weaknesses can be a really interesting part of shooting. Freestyle all the way!
  10. Hey Chris I posted a few years ago on all the places to shoot in the pcola/destin area, a search may still find it, but like FLgirl said it is scarce and requires some driving. JohnMc (a good guy, like most at the mobile club) mentioned USPSA at www.mpsa.us which is about 2ish hours from pcola, they shoot USPSA twice a month and there is a guerilla movement gaining momentum to shoot 3 gun. We shot a carbine side match a couple weeks ago ran by Dyno on this forum. I've shot shotgun there as well. A good place for a consistent 3 gun is a new place that just opened in Blakely,GA. Phenomenal facility and they shoot 3 gun on the 4th Sunday, http://www.aimacademyga.com/ USPSA as well on the second Sunday I think. 2 more clubs are 4 hours away- www.eastalabamagunclub.com and www.scssa.org. Both shoot 3 gun or carbine or 2 gun matches. Poplarville, MS shoots a fantastic 3 gun with challenging natural terrain and bay stages. Go there for sure!!! There's a club in Woolmarket, MS that shoots also. Nothing near us, good thing gas is cheap...oh wait... I hope to see you around at the matches! -N
  11. You're going all out, nicely done. I dont have my belt with me but I think i have 8, maybe 9, of the ELS 35 plates on my belt. I like the versatility of moving things around and maybe skipping a space depending on the stage, but you could probably get away with less. The quantities you have are good for pistol and rifle but I'd add another 4x4 to the list or a couple of the regular 4 shell caddies. There are some looooong SG stages out there and unless you have an armband or side saddle, the 16 shells on your belt may leave you short, especially on a stage with slugs mixed in. Have fun! -N
  12. Benny Hill on Facebook? I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks! As expected, good looking guns on there! Say hi to the fellas from CC for me. -N
  13. Sounds like a great deal! Can anyone comment on quality of the lowers or know what company manufactures them? thanks! -N
  14. Hurley, I've done something sorta similar. I bent the last 1/4 inch of my spring so that it points inward toward the center of the spring coils, then drilled a small hole in the side of the plug at the very end to accept the last 1/4 inch of the spring. That keeps it in place similar to tightening up the last coil. -N
