  2. My Wife is mine, She is also my Gun Lawyer, everyone should have one, a Gun Lawyer that is.
  3. They could say the spinner is a high value target then state in the stage brief what the penalties are.
  4. By the new Regional Rules it would be +10 seconds for the miss beyond 100 yards and +2.5 seconds for the failure to engage. I may get hit with a miss but I'm rarely smart enough to take the FTE even when its beneficial. 9.6 QUICK PENALTIES INDEX: 9.6.1 TARGETS ENGAGED a) Single Hit outside the center ring at any distance +2.5 sec Excluding: Heavy Divisions (Rule 9.1.5) Missed or non-engaged aerial clay +2.5 sec c) No hits on paper, steel left standing, clay unbroken but engaged less than 40yds +5 sec d) No hits on paper, steel left standing, clay unbroken but engaged greater than 40yds +7.5 sec e) No hits on paper, steel left standing/no called hit but engaged greater than 100yds +10 sec 9.6.2 FAILURE TO ENGAGE (FTE) a) No hits on paper, steel left standing, clay unbroken & not engaged less than 40yds (+5.0 & +2.5 FTE) = +7.5 sec No hits on paper, steel left standing, clay unbroken & not engaged greater than 40yds (+7.5 & +2.5 FTE) = +10 sec c) No hits on paper, steel left standing/no called hit & not engaged greater than 100yds (+10 & +2.5 FTE) = +12.5 sec
  5. I didn't realize those matches are full. When you go online, they say there are still openings. The one in St. George is not full, last time i check there were only 165 shooters..
  6. If the stage brief doesn't state the bolt has to be forward I load one in the chamber and hit the bolt release then load until mag is full. If the bolt has to be forward load chamber hit shell release then rack a round. I tried it once at a 3GN match with pulling the trigger but it just felt wrong safety wise.
  7. I did 2 regionals last year but only signed up for one this year in St. George.
  8. http://uspsa.org/new_nationals/sponsors/ From the USPSA page.. 2015 Sponsorship OpportunitiesWe need industry support for the shooting sports now, more than ever. If you’re interested in sponsoring one of our National Championships, please contact our sponsor coordinator, Denielle at denielle@uspsa.org and thank you for your support!
  9. Yeah, unfortunately with California laws these matches are better suited for people that are already trapped here in the state. Though our all-knowing legislature provided a competition exemption to the AW laws, they didn't do so for "large capacity magazines." The only thing you could do is potentially use someone else's that is at the match with you "under their direct supervision." How about if the club were to have some club owned "large capacity magazines" and staged them with the RO's of the stage for the shooters to use?
  10. Last year the round count for nationals was around 250 rifle, 250 pistol, 125 shot, and 20 slugs.. it was three days but it was shoot one sit one and 12 stages. This year is a two half day format and full day Sunday.
  11. I was thinking about driving out from Phoenix one weekend, what are the laws or what do I need to do to make my rifle able to bring to California?
  12. Gun in one hand, egg in the other, rifle on your back what could go wrong? Takes a face plant but keeps finger off the trigger and muzzel pointed down range.
  13. First Year and and a great time. Some of the stages were like shooting an entire local three gun match and most were longer than three 3GN stages. I really liked on every stage you used all 3 guns including having to switch between slugs and shot, short and long range targets, unload and re-holstering then re-engaging. If you haven't tried this match, you might want to put it on next years schedule, next year it will fill fast. Here is a video I did of the Silencerco team scramble final, Brian Nelson and Wyatt Gibson took it.
  14. I have heard they were doing the Western regional in St. George, UT and one in Oklahoma..??? But who knows, I wish they would announce so we can make plans. The 2 regionals I shot last year were great....
  15. Most credit card companies charge 6% per transaction, 3% isn't that bad. You did have the option to mail it in for 0% processing.
  16. If the 400lb elderly guy hits all of his targets he just might suffer the shame.. Sometimes slow is fast....
  17. The shooters banquet is on Saturday night and last couple of years was sponsored by Brownells. I've been for the past couple of years and it has been a nice dinner with some great door prizes.
