  1. Yeah, but their website says "out of stock", so they are advertising none at that price. It turns out I had actually bought two guns from Oak hill before I even knew they had a website.
  2. So the difference between GB = bad, and GB = good, is whether you have an msrp-ish mention of this gun on your website?
  3. They have put them out there with "buy it now" at $1k before, and they sell instantly; I guess they finally decided to go to the trouble of just leaving an open ended auction and getting more. There is currently a Limited Pro 9 out there for $1k, it is the same thing, but no one wants it since Ben doesn't shoot it I guess.
  4. Bladetech is best bet for the pouch. The mount, BOSS is awesome for USPSA, but not legal for IDPA... I use a tec-lock mounted directly to the pouch for IDPA.
  5. Thanks guys! Second is nice, but still need to up the game.
  6. Good deal... thanks for working!
  7. I ended up 2nd... Not on video is a stage I completely tanked, which made the gap to 3rd a lot closer than it would have been otherwise, but I still wouldn't have caught Sal in first. So bad as it was, it didn't impact my placement, and watching it just makes my head hurt.
  8. And of course, you have to use some authority when seating the magazine... which you should be doing anyway.
  9. What I do with mine when I get a new gun, is make sure it goes to slidelock a few times during the first range session or two, and then you will be able to see on the slide stop, the pattern of wear that is developing (where the slide contacts it at slidelock). I then accelerate this wear with some 600 grit sandpaper. I wouldn't even call it filing, just polishing. One to two range sessions later it is dropping 99% on mag insertion. If it is dirty it doesn't work quite as well, but just make sure it is clean before a match and it goes 100%. I'm a lefty, so I find this action an especially valuable trait.
  10. I've only shot two of them, but this was another awesome match.
  11. If you are happy with your CZ, I have no idea why you would get a backup gun that comes with all of the following great attributes: -Different frame -Different trigger -no parts compatibility -different magazines -different holster -maybe different ammo For a while last year against my will, my backup gun was .40 cal, and that was enough of a PITA lugging around 500 rounds of different ammo and different magazines to every match... and that was even with a gun that shared virtually everything else with my primary. Personally, I'd want my backup to be as close to identical in every single way possible to my primary.
  12. Ah, thanks... so was the rail-less frame discontinued then?
  13. How about slide specs... do they both take the same sights, firing pins, extractors, etc?
  14. I have never had the opportunity to handle a Match, so, some questions for those familiar with both: 1) I see that the match is based on a non-competition frame. I believe the differences are: less aggressive stippling, slightly narrower magwell, rounded trigger guard, no magwell anchor point... is that it? Are the overall width and strap dimensions the same as a competition frame? Are grip panels compatible between the two? Beavertail... is it the same, or slightly different? Are all the Matches large frame and share mag compatibility with the competition frames? 2) I know the stats on the EAA website can be pretty far off, so... Weight. They say the Match is heavier than a Limited Pro? Is this true? Does anyone know the actual empty weight of a Match? 3) Match has a straight barrel (same style as the Lim Pro) correct? 4) Length: EAA website shows that the Match is about 1/4" shorter overall, despite having the same 4.75" barrel length... is this true? If so, is the difference in the beavertail? I might come up with more, but that will do it for now.. thanks.
  15. It turned out I was mistaken... not sure what the hitch is (it is VERY minor anyway) but after my gunsmith looked at it, he is convinced it is not being caused by hammer/sear contact. So, I'm just going to shoot it; whatever it is, I'm guessing that shooting it will make it go away quickly.
  16. Yes, Zach at LRA made some slave pins for me, and they definitely helped... can't imagine trying to get that stuff back together without them.
  17. Ok... will just the back end do (safety and sear cage) or trigger too? I had a hell of a time getting the trigger back in, so would like to minimize the number of times that has to be done, if possible...
  18. So I switched to unicorns this year (been shooting them since January) and I've witnessed some people working on them, but that's it. My highest round count stock 2 has about 19k on it, and I decided to take the frame apart for a thorough cleaning here during the off season. After getting it back together, I have a slight issue: Keeping the trigger pressed and rotating the hammer, I can feel the hammer hooks touching the sear. I KNOW for sure, that this was not happening before I took it apart. It is slight, but perceptible. Are the tolerances in these things so tight that minuscule changes in position of different pins or whatnot could cause something like this? The overtravel screw in the trigger is currently backed all the way out and doesn't even touch the frame when the trigger is pulled all the way back. What should I do? Shoot it as is? (should be functional for at least a while longer) Get a new hammer and/or sear fit (I have a guy that I believe could do a good job of this) Other?
  19. I'm at 130pf at 3.3gr, 135pf at 3.4gr.
  20. ~19k rounds through 6 magazines this year, never changed the springs, never had a problem so far.

    Just got a P-09....

Cool thanks. I fired a few rounds with a CZ75 10lb recoil spring. There is no binding or anything, but I think this spring is too light for this gun. I had one failure to go back into battery in about 60 rounds (very clean gun), and in general it just feels very light; lighter than my Tanfo with a 9lb spring. I "suspect" the spring may be less compressed in this gun with the slide forward than it is in a CZ75 just based on the feel. I think I'll get an 11lb Glock/M&P spring, and roll with that for a while.

    PO Nine

Very slick... do want. Is that grip tape from a kit, or just cut by hand? Also, is that CZC hammer a modified factory hammer, or would it be aftermarket like the CGW competition hammer?

    Just got a P-09....

Cool, thanks... does it matter which direction the rear sight is drifted out?
  24. ny32182

    Just got a P-09....

Dawson sight installation, a couple questions.... Is the front likely to require any fitting? How about the rear? Just undue the set screw and tap it out, or does it hold stuff into the slide, requiring gutting the slide first?
