  1. Why do some prefer the old dies? Thanks, Padraig
  2. I just purchased a Springfield XD S 45 ACP. Any thoughts on what reloads it likes. With my 1911 Officers Model I usualy practice with 200 grain cast swc and carry with 200 gr Federal JHP. Thanks, Padraig
  3. Thanks. I assume that with the old style I screw the seating die down till it almost touches the shell plate....then ajust seating depth by screwing the stem down till I get the desired OAL. I wish I could remember how I used to do it but got too busy with work etc. and haven't used my reloading stuff for a few years. I am loving the 650 though! Loaded up a couple of thousand 380s and now just finishing my first caliber and primer conversion, Thanks again! Padraig
  4. Does anyone have the instructions on adjusting the old style Dillon 45acp dies? I had them with my 550 and now switching them to a new 650 and can not find my instructions or find them on line at Dillon. Thanks for the help.
  5. Thanks! I should have been able to figure this out myself. Maybe inhaling too much WW231. For those of you using LEE 223 dies, any problems or things to look out for?
  6. It sounds as if is long wait for them (Dillon)???? If not I would perfer the Dillon.
  7. It appears that Lee Deluxe 223 dies are available were as the Dillon are not. If I get the Lee set, how do I handle the powder drop? Thanks,
  8. If I am straying too far into politcs........please delete this. Does it bother anyone that buying certain brands of primers and ammo supports the munition capabilities of countries that are not friendly to the US?
  9. I am sorry. It is always so difficult. I have Irish Wolfhounds and Will soon have to make the decision for my old fella, Paddy Clancy. Dogs give so much but they also take a peice of your heart.
  10. I love my lw officers model! I keep thinking of trading it for a slightly smaller Kimber.....then I take it to the range and remember just how nice it shoots and carries
  11. In New York we have one year to sell our high capcity mags!
  12. I didn,t buy my origanal press from Brian or my new 650, I didn't know about Brian. I have since discovered Brian and this great list! Brian's site is much better then Dillons and I have since bought accesories from Brian and service is excellent! Thanks Brian, Padraig
  13. Thanks, Lee! I have only done about 100 on a new 650 my wife gave me for Christmas. Now I need a case feeder. Will be loading mostly 45acp, .380 auto and will eventualy need to start doing .223 as I am getting low on cheap ammo I bought many years ago. Even without the case feeder is easier dropping those dinky little cases in the feed tube then inserting them in the shell plate on the old 550.
  14. I tried the deep 1 inch socket today, ran a loaded round up into the ajusted die, removed the clip and tightened the nut down with the socket. Worked great, thanks!
  15. I have heard the the Dillon case feeder (650) has problems feeding .380 brass. Can antyone confirm or dispel this rumor? Thanks,
  16. I "think" I like the idea of the quick change kit as I will be soon switching back and forth from 45ACP with Large Primers to 380 auto with small. Do I just need one kit to go back and forth???? Padraig
