  1. I do like the shorter gun a lot more - However, it seemed the concesis was get the 5". I also will be going back and forth just for shooting time. I can shoot 6 IDPA match's a month - where as I can only shoot 2 USPSA at most. ( I would love to do it the other way around ) That is one reason I want to use the 90 degree mount. I am also trying to keep all the same grips too. The one concern I have is I shoot alot of 45 and it is starting to agrivate my wrist. I was hoping the comp would blow off a lot of that steam. I shoot a 45acp Custom STI Wide Body in 4.25 that I had built and love the balance of it well over my Eagle 5". Just point ability faster on draw ( Blah, Blah )
  2. Very Nice video. Thanks for sharing.
  3. Is there anything in production about trigger pull weight. I thought I heard someone say the trigger can not be under 3lbs. I can't find anything in the book.
  4. +1 on the COC - Vogel always has one in his pocket from what I hear.
  5. Ok. Thank you. I appreciate the advise- I will work on it.
  6. I am thinking prob. used. Not sure I want the new gun price. If I go new it will have to be a stock Trubor - Then I will buy a 90 degree mount and double under cut the trigger and get a *thumb rest [generic]* - later I would get a slide racker installed.
  7. Hello All - So not to get anyone in trouble - Lets just look at both and I will be the judge. Everyone has been really great. Let's keep that going. I would also like to say thanks to all who have been sending me some. I appreciate it - Along with all your knowledge. Jeff
  8. Do they have any cheap for sale. LOL ( I couldn't even afford their cheap one. LOL )
  9. kneelingatlas - I thought it was good. :-) The amount I save on brass then I can buy both.
  10. Hello All, I know there are a lot of skilled people here. Can anyone give me some feed back on my last steel shoot? Video can be found here, http://youtu.be/FeK2sabyETI tried to upload not sure if it worked
  11. In my mind we all shoot. So we all win - nothng like enjoying yourself with friends and some competition. Simple thing at the end of the day. Did you have fun shooting whether it's a 22 or 50 cal. It is still pretty easy for me - 20k plus 9mm - 3 - 38 Super 38 Super - 149.00 per 1k x 20 - 2980.00 ( Hey there is my open gun. ) The simple question is...... did I have fun. Yes... And met some really good folks along the way so far. Waynes_world - Those are very nice looking pistols. But trying not to spend that much. I do have to say - I never pick up 9mm brass at a USPSA shoot - I am to worried about 9mm major and case splits. To me really it just boils down to economics. There are tons of 9mm cases people are practically giving away.
  12. I have noticed that. Most are shooting 115. Why is that? Not to get off subject. I am assuming it is just for pressure/gases for the comps.
  13. For me it is simple - I have approx 20k pieces of 9mm and 3 of 38 Super. Outside of that I would have no idea as I am still a semi newbie in the sport. I would assume it is not bullets weight as there are some heavy 9mm bulets out there ( I know xtreme bullets just started to sell 9mm in 165gr. )
  14. That is not a hateful price at all. I will give him a shout this week. Thanks
  15. Might I ask a silly quest on what is reasonable? general is fine 1. 2500-3 2. 3-4 3. 2nd Mortgage time
  16. Hahaha. Yup... And I am a poor dog looking to get into the rich mans sport. Econo style. hahahaha
  17. Might want to check out http://www.magnumresearch.com/Firearms/Magnum-Research-Desert-Eagle-1911-C-Model.asp The triggers are great and accuracy is good also, and even better very affordable - Sorry to here about the bad time with kimber. I carry a CDP Ultra II and have never had any issue with it nor another of my kimbers.
  18. Never thought of that. You guys have all the good angles.
  19. I am not sure I can justify spending over 4k. A trubor is going to be a big stretch. I don't mind figuring out what I like and upgrading. As long as the platform is solid.
  20. Definately in the price range. Though, I prefer a 9mm so I don't have to spend a fortune in Brass. It's much easier to leave 9mm brass on the ground than 38 Super.
  21. for affordability might want to check out http://www.magnumresearch.com/Firearms/Magnum-Research-Desert-Eagle-1911-C-Model.asp The triggers in these are great right out of the box. I beleive the frame is steel. Which maybe a little heavy for all day. Kimber makes their carry's with aluminum frames however, they run around 1200 + normally ( I think )
  22. Yeah. - I am waiting and looking. Would like to get some practice in before our season starts around here in march.
  23. Thanks Sarge - I checked it out. Seems by the time I had the slide fitted and coated - I would only be a few hundred off a new one. I will have to pass one it. Really appreciate it though. jeff
  24. Well, Seems like trubor has the vote. Sarge - Thanks for the post on USPSA. I appreciate it. :-) I would also like to thanks everyone for there help and insight. Does anyone know any place that honors STI dealer pricing? Merry Christmas all. Jeff
  25. Yeah. That is what I worry about with the glock. Resale and wanting something more. I hear it alot just buy something better. So there has to be truth to it. I never even thought about demo guns. I will also check the forum again. You are right patients is your friend. I liked the shorter barrels just for the balance. I and shooting a custom 2011 in 45 now in limited 10 and also run and STI eagle in 40. The shorter gun seems more balanced. However, you are right I don't see any of them. Seems to me the trubor or similiar guns would be front heavy with the 5" barrel and another 1" plus with comp. I never really liked long barreled guns nor shot them well with any speed. ( or maybe I just don't shoot with any speed period. hahaha ) As for CCgunworks great looking pistols however, I don't want to have to get a 2nd mortgage. hahahah Again, I would just be a begginger in open. Thanks for all the assistance. Very good ideas. I must say. It's good to hear the voices of reason. :-)
