Well, I decided to give the RF100 another try last week for a 1000 round loading session.  It gets them up the ramp and into the tube now and I case gauged those rounds today and had 15 upside down primers for 1000 rounds.

    Acceptable or not?

Absolutely not.  I'd say maybe one or two per thousand would be tolerable.  At most.  Been using the PAL for years now and it's maybe one or two per 10k.  But usually zero.  And it fills the tubes way faster than the RF100.

I also stocked up on primers and powder for the year but I’m just getting into multi gun, has anyone checked the supply price of 555/223? I was lucky enough to grab a few cases for under 400 shipped before they sky rocketed

Lake City recently cancelled all civilian orders.  So, no more surplus ammo for the foreseeable future.

  3. Gotta make it easy to compete with everything else.  Buy your hicap dot gun and factory ammo, take a couple courses, do a little dry fire, post a bunch of videos, and promote your utube channel.  Now, it's much more about how fast you can navigate the course than how well you shoot, manage recoil, etc.  Totally different game.

  4. Typically you remove material from B on the frame and D on the slide (using above diagram).  And that's it.  You do not touch the step on the frame.  And if the parts are within spec, you shouldn't have to touch any other surfaces.

Re: Accu-Rail, be aware that they hog out a bunch of material from both the slide and the frame.  Once that's done, the parts are useless without the rails.  So, you'll never be able to fit another slide unless that one is also machined for Accu-Rails.  Just mentioning that because they don't tell you up front, and several people I know who've had it done were not happy to learn that after the fact.

Overheard a shooter at USPSA Handgun Nationals last weekend say that someone on their squad DQ’d for an AD with a 320, and that in the video they could clearly see that the shooter’s finger was along the slide and not touching the trigger.

I'll believe it when I see it.

What's the point of aluminum grips if they transfer more recoil and weigh the same as polymer?

The main attraction for aluminum is you get rigidity and lots of shape/texture options without the weight of steel.  Also, from a manufacturing standpoint, you can write CNC programs all day long with endless variations for aluminum grips.  Molds for polymer grips are very expensive, that's why you don't see many variations.

What's sad is the low vote count.  Seems to me most shooters couldn't care less who runs the USPSA

The President has zero power to do anything.  The board has full control.  And given the election cycle for ADs, it's multiple years to make any meaningful change there.  Most members that might otherwise vote realise this, so they don't bother.

Looks like about $100 more than the 1st version.  IMHO, there are no major enhancements to make a current user switch to a gen 2, but it probably makes sense to go with the gen 2 for new buyers.

The email I got had  a comment like, "hurry and save on the original version."  Which I took to mean "while supplies last."  So, I think the older model is being discontinued.  Also, I see the new one has an orange plastic rotating plate that looks like the one they make for the Dillon collator.  Wonder if that fits the Gen 1 MBF and if there's any advantage.

Yes, of course in a vacuum, optics is easier than irons, minor easier than major, but at the same time all competitors have the same advantages meaning the required performance output to be competitive is higher.

Actually, what it means is less emphasis on shooting, and more on who can negotiate the course faster while popping off a few rounds along the way.
