It's not going to make it shoot any better. Only real advantages are easy maintnenace, some increased durability due to surface hardness, and cosmetic, assuming you like the look.

Sure thing. Unless I can get my hands on one befote then, I'll probably hold off until January so I can check it out at the SHOT Show.

I recently acquired a Nightforce 5.5-22x56 and mounted it on an FN SPR in .300 WSM. Could not be happier with the thing. Good quality and built to last. If you're looking at it as an investment, spend the cash for the NF. If you're looking for another toy to play with, then the Leupold should be fine.

Sig 1911s I've seen weren't very good in terms of fit and finish. Certainly not any better than Colt, Springfield, or the others. Seems like a lot of money for what it is.

I had no idea. Sorry about that.

Bullseye is good stuff. A lot of people think that newer powders are better, but for a fast burn rate, Bullseye is tough to beat. Back when I was building custom 1911s, the few that I put on a rest all shot around a half inch at 25 yards with loads using Bullseye and 200g LSWCs. I shot Bullseye in .40 (limited gun) for a long time, but switched to N320 mainly because the US distributor is about 15 minutes from me.

I've used it before, and it works fine. But it's been so long I don't remember the details. Illiant has some load data here: http://www.alliantpowder.com/reloaders/RecipeList.aspx?gtypeid=1.

Doing a new build and am leaning toward setting it up with a Trijicon SRS. My current setup has an Aimpoint M3 on a LaRue mount. Just wondering if anyone has experience with one and how it compares to the Aimpoint.

Sight tracker on a 6" gun is a lot of weight. Talked to Brandon a while back and he recommended bushing barrel for a 6" gun. But of course, depends on what you like. I just ordered a 5.4" limited gun with bushing barrel.

Maybe try EGW. Really, this can be done by any competent machinist if you have the specs.

Btw, in the 4.25" gun the tungsten guide rod works great with a 13# recoil spring (124g FMJ w/4.0g N320).
Ive been giving heavy consideration to getting the tungsten guide rod for my 4.25", i am already running the 13# spring on the stock captured rod. Have you noticed a significant amount of improved muzzle flip with the tungsten guide rod? It seems to me that would be the only improvement over the stock rod.
It does reduce muzzle flip. But to me it also improves the feel of the gun in my hands. But that could be personal preference. I'm used to a long dust cover SV limited gun.

Only issues I've had with them is that some times items aren't in stock and you have to deal with backorders and generally shipping is very slow. But otherwise, they're pretty good to deal with. I purchased some M&P mags from them and they were brand new, current style, and arrived in about a week.

I'm still thinking this through, but most likely will make up some kind of mount for the base of the feeder and then weld that to a piece of pipe that's attached to a flange base. Then bolt the whole thing to the bench. Only somewhat complicated part is mounting to the base of the feeder. And that's not really complicated, it's just a matter of getting around what's there and coming up with something that's solid and not too heavy. I'll post up some photos when I get around to doing this.

I have a Syncrowave 250 TiG and multiple certs, so it's an easy job. And nothing complicated about the shape of the thing. I can probably have it done in the time it takes to pack it up and drive over to FedEx. Figured it's stainless and was planning to use 304 or 309. Probably ok either way.

Interesting. So it that your own design or did you start with the Mr. Bulletfeeder and modify it?

Working on my Benelli M2 for 3-gun and want to modify the lifter. Anyone know what material to use for this?

Great facility and great match. Had a lot of fun. Will definitely be there for the IL Sectional in 2013, if not sooner.

I bought a couple of bullet feeders and they look really nice, but I'm not so hot on having them hanging off the side of the case feeder. So I'm thinking about fabricating some kind of stand for them. Just curious if anyone else has done that.

I just ordered a SSS tungsten guide rod for my M&P Pro and what they sent is the same as for the 4.25" gun. So they have one that's longer?

Does Virgil still do hard chrome? Used to have him do my guns and he always did a great job.

New to the forum but used to shoot a lot. Took a 10 year break and am just getting back into it. First match was the Sparta USPSA Open last weekend. Had a great time.

I have a Liberty Lincoln, which is about the same except for size. I was not too thrilled with the build quality or finish of the safe considering the price. The hinge pockets were literally stapled into place, several of the adjuster rails were bent pretty bad, and overall, it was not what I expected for that kind of money. Also found their customer service lacking. The configuration of the model I bought was really inefficient and when I contacted them about getting some replacement shelves made up, they were not willing to even consider anything other than the stock configuration. So I ended up making my own shelves and scrapped the ones that came with it.
