  1. Primers are easier to hoard so I feel like that's what people are doing.

Try your local big five for primers and as for powders, good luck and just keep hacking away on the internet or at the local gun stores.

  2. Modern shellholders do interchange, with some exceptions. Shellholders for the Lee Autoprime, for example, are different.

Depending on what you are trying to accomplish, however, you may want to reconsider using the single stage. A properly set up Dillon has worked for David Tubb and John Whidden- with a bit of tuning.

Yeah, I have talked to Mr. Whidden and I have 2 of his tool heads. Most of the people I know that reloads for .308 have a single stage so it had me thinking why won't they use their dillons to load their rounds. They told me that a single stage is just "better".... but never gave me a great answer.

I'm going to start on the dillon and see how that goes. I just wanted a question answered for the "just incase" situation.

    Thanks for your suggestions!

  3. Hello,

I'm new to reloading and I have a set up for the Dillon 550b but I have been told that a single stage press would be "better" for precision loads. Obviously the dillon shell plates won't work on a single stage but I am just curious if the shell holders are interchangeable with different brands. Like can I use RCBS shell holder for a .308 on a Redding single stage press?

Also are there any recommendations on shell holders? RCBS, Redding, Lees, etc.

I'm also assuming that these shell holders can be used on hand priming tools, case timmers, etc as well right?

I was thinking about using the dillon to resize and deprime. I can use the RCBS chargemaster to load the powder and use a single stage to seat the bullet.

    Thanks for looking.

  4. This one is great: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/653468/noveske-push-button-quick-detach-sling-swivel-mount-for-troy-trx-trx-alpha-handguards

When you take the QD sling swivel off the mount is flush with the hand guard and you don't even know it's there.

The product description says it's only good with Troy Alpha rails. I know the Troy has circular holes and the VTAC has slits.... Do you still think it'll be compatible?

  5. Hello,

I have a VTAC Alpha hand guard and I am going to be purchasing a Vtac sling with qd buttons soon. I was just wondering if anyone have any recommendations for a front sling mount. I found a few that that accepts QD buttons but they are in the $45-50 range. Are there any cheaper alternatives?

  6. I already ordered one from Shooters Connection - I needed it for this weekend.

Fair enough. I'll just order a .220 or a .235 front this week.

  7. I put these on a Gen4 Glock 17. I love the sight picture compared to the Warrens. The huge notch on the Warrens was fast, but didn't give me as much precision as I wanted on far partials or small steel.

I have found the .220 front sight that comes with the TTIs is too short, and the gun groups about 3" high at 20yds with 124s. A .245 should be just right.

I have a .245 warren sight I was thinking about replacing with one of these TTI fronts.... would you want to trade?

  8. Has anyone moved from warren/sevigny sights to these? If so, how do you like it?

I would just like a comparison between the two.

  9. Hello everyone,

So my dad and I were cleaning out the garage and we found a few jugs of this WCC 844 surplus powder and was just wondering if anyone still uses this stuff? I have read that it's similar to H335 but I would like to see what others have used it for besides the suggested load on the jug for the m856 orange tips.

Any help would be better than no help. Thanks.

    Dan
