  1. Where is the post or sticky that best describes the photo posting process for this forum? I find that which is in the Help Topics Posting lacking. I post photos routinely on other sites, but can't seem to crack the code. Thank you.
  2. It didn't look like Kerry's gear slowed him down much at all. Stage 1 put him at a disadvantage because he had to look west and the sun had only recently set. He had trouble seeing a shotgun steel target if I recall correctly due to the bloom. He shot well and it was remarkable to watch (me not being a Tier 1 guy). And Kerry looked cool doing it too! Invisible is cool. I agree completely with Doug. Where else will you get those conditions to use your gear? Sendit
  3. I have one on my Glock 17 and have used it in a couple of night matches. It is awesome. I am WAAAAYYY more accurate and fast with that Crimson Trace laser. Sendit
  4. How often do you check tightness? Before each match? Assuming they have thread locker on them too?
  5. Wondering how others have successfully mounted a light to an XM2XI? Ideally I'd just mount a short pic rail somewhere, but where? There's not much room and I don't want to do anything that would interfere with the rotation of the tubes obviously. Sendit
  6. Watch for one south of Spokane in September run by the Tri-Cities Shooting Association. Great match. It's at Rattlesnake Mountain Shooting Facility near Benton City, Washington. Strong sponsors and good competition. Last year we got chased off the last stage by a legitimate dust storm. Nothing like being bead blasted while trying to see a target at 250 yards! Sendit
  7. The Northwest Multigun Challenge is in July, but I think it's full. Sendit
  8. Be safe and have fun. Welcome to the addiction. Sendit
  9. For those who haven't been and wonder what it's like, here's an article I wrote about M3GI 2013: http://www.arshunt.com/accessorize2013/accessorize2013#&pageSet=33&page=0 Great match! Steve
  10. They are shooting RIGHT NOW.....lasers, night vision, grenade launchers....the rest of us will be on in 48 hours!!! Sendit
  11. I was having trouble keeping track of all the reasons this match is the best of, so I made a Top Ten List #10 Free BBQ daily #9 Visible Lasers #8 IR lasers #7 Select fire stage guns #6 Suppressed stage guns #5 Belt feds #4 Night vision #3 High end clip on thermal #2 Grenade Launcher and the #1 thing that makes this 3 Gun match the best ......insane prize table. I remember from last year all the rifles, sights, and pistols, but most of all that thermal from FLIR. Thanks Chuck for all the work, to the generous sponsors, and all the people behind the scenes like Roseann Stover from CTC. Sendit
  12. No, I didn't. I did, however receive several compliments on how rock steady my trigger and muzzle discipline remained, as I fell. I also managed to correctly show clear and safely re-holster That's awesome (the muzzle and trigger control part under stress...not the ankle). Mend quickly. Sendit
  13. I was there last year and will be again this year. It's an incredible match and the sponsors are over the top as Chuck said. Today I bought some .380 ammo from Freedom Munitions to support them because they support this match. Danner let me try out some Tachyon boots and they are great for 3 gun by the way. They are extremely light, tough, and cool for hot weather. These are a new design for 2013, so check them out if you get the chance. Sendit
  14. I just used a Pelican flashlight in a Daniel Defense mount on my SG and it wasn't the reason I lost! It was rock solid and put out plenty of light. You didn't mention it, but you should also think about wind direction and dust management. That surprised many of us last year at CT. One other thing would be ready access to a light that could help you clear double feeds, etc. If your head lamp works for that then great.
  15. Again this year NWMGC was a super match. The Bend setting was awesome, the ROs were great, and the sponsors were over the top. What was it, 16 Colt Competition rifles? Wow. Until next year! Thanks Scott and Doug! Sendit
  16. Ok well the trigger pin bushing is in the correct position (inserted from right hand / ejector side). At this point I can't get the problem to happen. Hopefully it is due to taking out the trigger assembly and reinstalling. My best guess now is that the take down pin (for lack of a better term) wasn't fully seated. Thanks everyone for the input. Sendit
  17. Ok thanks. I'm not taking the trigger assembly apart. The trigger pin bushing is not something I've messed around with. I'm just taking the trigger assembly out by pushing out the pin that retains it. Then of course I'm taking down the barrel to get the bolt out etc. To be clear, the pin that retains the entire trigger assembly is symmetric and can go in either right to left or the other way around. Correct? That's what Benelli says anyway. I wonder now if I didn't have that pin seated fully and that was the problem. I know you can insert and not get it quite all the way in there to hear the snap. It's working now, but I'd still like to know what I was doing wrong. That way I won't have the ghost malfunction lurking in the back of my head. Sendit
  18. Ok I'll bite. There's a correct side? The pin appears to be symmetric and a careful measurement confirms this. The Benelli manual says to insert from right or left hand sides. What am I missing?
  19. Thanks for the suggestion. The bolt was in battery. I tested that several times. The whole situation was odd. My son was there timing my reloads and I made sure he was seeing what I was seeing.
  20. Yes the release button (chrome by trigger) disappears as if it has been pushed. My technique has not changed as far as I can tell. Unfortunately I can't get the malfunction to reliably repeat.
  21. I posted this in the general gunsmithing forum and wasn't getting any input. Hopefully somebody here can help. I have a match next week and would really like to get this solved. Benelli M2, CRUMS welded lifter, very reliable 2 year old shotgun. I can't remember any malfunctions before this. Yesterday while I was practicing my shotgun speed reloads (with dummy rounds) my M2 started randomly locking the shell lifter as if the cartridge drop lever had been depressed. I'm just loading dummy rounds into the tube. The bolt is closed. When I start loading dummy rounds sometimes after the first round is loaded, sometimes after the third, etc., there is a "click" and shell lifter is locked. To remedy I hit the bolt release button and resume reloading. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
