I re-sprung one for a buddy of mine and I settled on a 17 lb mainspring paired with a 12 pound recoil spring.

I usually come to the line with 64 rounds for my revo. I can carry 96 if it's a loaded start, but I only do that for the Rocky Mountain 300.
-
What height front and rear? What weight bullet? Does it hit high when fired off hand?

I had 4 hybra ports cut into my last carry gun, a 38 special j frame that Jack Wiegand worked over. It recoiled slightly down. I've never shot magna ports that felt that effective. I'd probably look at 3 or 4 hybra ports if I was building an open gun.

I had it on backorder since December 6th.
Did you happen to catch it in stock or did you put it on back order and then one magically appeared on your doorstep?I just received my box from Ben Stoeger on Tuesday. I've been on back order for a while, but he had at least one in stock last week.
It's pretty pricey, but I can work late and pay for it quicker than I can build one.

The X5s we have had they the shop were all single action only. Do they make one in double action?I haven't taken the time to look but is the Sig X5 (I think that's the name) on the production list? The short demo I saw on YouTube seemed like it'd make a great production gun. Could be wrong but at first glance it seemed it would be a better gun than the P320. Again, I'm not a Sig expert though

+1. That would make a nice front sight article. I feel you're one of the best writers here on BE. How long do you spend writing these large well thought out posts you make?

Because they prefer to fool with gear instead of practicing.
Why do so many people care what other people shoot? Why do so many people feel the need to use the fallacy of being competitive ...
Perhaps that is the real question.

What do you shoot now? You're allowed a thumb rest in limited.

The 150 and 150M are interchangeable. The 150Ms are match primers, they are the same but more consistent. They all come off the same machine. We don't really need them in our game but they're often available because they cost a bit more. It'll cost you another $1.50 per match to run match primers.
The 155s are magnum primers and may have slightly thicker, and less sensitive, cups.

It appears that the moon rack must also be at waist level.
5.2.3 Unless specified in the written stage briefing, the belt carrying the holster and allied equipment must be worn during the course of fire; the belt must be worn at the waist level, which is deemed to be at the same level as the original belt loops on the lower garment. (See 5.2.3.1 for exceptions.) The belt or the inner belt or both must be either securely fixed at the waist, or secured with a minimum of three belt loops. The belt may be removed between courses of fire.

Loading ............................
It may not be completed until you put one in the chamber but ... how about those empty chamber starts?
What empty chamber starts are you referring to?
8.1.4 Unless complying with a Division requirement (see Appendix D), a
competitor must not be restricted on the number of rounds to be loaded
or reloaded in a handgun. Written stage briefings may only stipulate
when the handgun is to be loaded or when mandatory reloads are
required (when permitted under Rules 1.1.5.1 and 1.1.5.2).
Unless the competitor forgets to rack the slide, the start position is either loaded or unloaded.

If you chamber the cylinder to headspace on the casemouth, a case that is a bit too long would drag on the breach face. They headspace on the moonclip, so there is no value in chambering to headspace on the casemouth as well. We're using moonclips for extraction anyway, why would you want to trim your brass?

... Loading manuals, or even powder manufactures websites will give you the information you're looking for.

Doesn't this belong at the USPSA forums? Politics, even USPSA politics, are not permitted here.
-
Your gun needs some clearance between the parts to operate. Just leave out the extra shim.
-
You gonna have one of those triples at the mile high?
-
If the slide is back, over insertion of the long magazines can damage your ejector. A closed slide prevents this.

3% equals nowhere near as good? In our rather sparsely populated division, I can count on 1 hand the number of times that would have changed my finish position. I don't even need all 5 fingers.
-
...The 625 would be better for moving over to USPSA, but will be nowhere near as good for 99% of matches as the 8 shot gun.
Bullshit. I finish 3% better in the overall with an 8 shot minor gun vs. My 625 loaded to major. Are you losing by 3%?
-
Agreed. 7-shot find don't fit well in current competition divisions.
A 6-shot something with a 4" barrel works if you need to shoot both with one gun.
-
You like to mess with the revo shooters don't you?
That requires 6, reload, shoot 2, reload, shoot 6, reload and than shoot 2.
It isn't completely clear, but 1.1.5.4 stipulates no more than 6 shots strong or weak hand only. This applies to medium courses. The round count of your speed shoot would make it a medium course if it had another view or position.
-
By your definition, I never mooch. There is occasionally a holy crap moment when I didn't see something, but if I've already started visualizing my run I don't change anything. The low-cap divisions I shoot often require a different break down anyway.
barrel porting for minor revolver

Shooting 38 special in a big n frame creates very little felt recoil, and often doesn't produce much gas volume. I don't shoot an open revolver, do we really need anything beyond some ports to help the gun flatter?
