Do you travel much to shoot? Other clubs in your area may be using a different system that you might copy.
Most of the clubs in eastern Colorado use 6 or 8 foot long walls made from 2x4s and covered with orange snow fence. The walls are maybe 7 feet tall with legs that slide into steel feet. The feet are made from square steel tubing that accepts a 2x4, maybe a foot high and welded to a flat piece of steel like an upside down "T". There is a hole drilled on each end of the flat steel foot to take a spike to hold up the wall in the wind.
I don't have any pictures but I can't believe these are exclusive to this area. Does anyone else have pictures if a similar setup?

I'll be shooting my USPSA major setup. 5" 625 with Jerry grips and 230 grain ball loaded to 175 power factor.
-
105 power factor seems a bit too close to cowboy action shooting for me.....

If you lock it, the Racemaster is more secure than a kydex rig with the front cut out. If you forget to lock it, anything that lifts your revolver up about 1/2 inch will cause it to fall out.
The Racemaster is nice because it doesn't need a muzzle rest so it accommodates barrels of varying length.
I believe the biggest benefit to the race holsters is their adjustablity. I have a BOSS hanger on my single stack rig, and it is almost as adjustable as my racemaster. -
Shots unlimited won't affect high hit factor, those would be set by a run with no misses. It may help a shooter at a lower classification though.
The 625s still reload a bit faster, I see no reason why the high hit factor would change for L6.

No such thing as free lunch. Listen to Cha-Lee.

The muzzle rest is not needed.

SDM makes gold bead sights with real gold beads that don't tarnish. I believe they make kits for gunsmith fitting.
If I carried an autoloader that's what I'd carry.

I've been designing stages for our indoor match at work for a over a year now and this summer I've started designing for the local USPSA matches. If you send me a PM with your email address I'll drop you an email with all of my written stage descriptions. Even if you don't use them as written, you can steal ideas.

Glock is a manufacturer. In the US, CZ is an importer. The difference in price is likely the difference in their costs.
-
It's difficult to mandate creativity.
The 625s might load faster, but they cost more to feed and you're never going to get the power factor all the way down to 38 special level.

The one that came thru our store had a much smoother trigger than my 226 USPSA model. The grey finish was very attractive and the slide stop looked like a good option for folks that hit the standard one with their thumb.

This sticky isn't the correct location to discuss this, start a new thread.

I thought we countered all your arguments over at the Doodie Project.
Ain't broke, don't fix it.

Very good point.Does the gun make weight with the mag??
-
You need to learn how much you can abuse the trigger at different distances and target presentations. On open targets I can slap my 1911 trigger out to 10 yards and hold alphas. On my revolver, I need to start respecting the trigger more on targets beyond 5 yards or so. As targets get more difficult you need to be smoother on the trigger.

I've never found a revolver where the sing is the same on both sides. I've also never had a gun that wouldn't run for a left-hander, but I understand that can happen if you don't check.
-
The pin can bend. This is what you're looking for when you check the "sing".
Pull the trigger just enough to drop the cylinder stop and spin the cylinder. You should hear the hand ratcheting over the extractor. All this shows is that the hand can freely move in its slot. You adjust sing by bending the pivot pin.
There is left and right sing, and they are often different. If you don't pull the trigger straight back sometimes the hand will bind in its slot. This can be different for left and right handed shooters as we abuse the triggers in different directions. Check the sing with the trigger pushed to either side, it's difficult to make it perfect.

You should consider reading the rulebook, it's available here:

First. Competition revolvers should be fed federal primers. Buy them in bulk when they are available. As to cost... Let's assume that you can save $10 a 1000, at a typical weekend match you shoot ~150 rounds so that would cost you another $1.50. Skip lunch.
That said, for customers that want a trigger job for carry, a properly done trigger set to 9-9.5 lbs should ignite everything on the market if the primer is fully seated.

Hello: I built one for IDPA. The bull barrel is 4.180" is a lot of fun to shoot and shoots very soft. Now I just need to put on a slide mounted optic for carry optics. That would be really fun. Thanks, EricI think a short bull barrel 9mm 1911 would be fun.
Unfrtunately, carry optics is restricted to guns on the Production list only that make a maximum weight of 35 ounces.
... and semiautomatics only. They Fear the revolver apocalypse.
-
Trigger control. Get more of it. The weight of the steel guns masks trigger abuse.
-
Revolver shooters are cheap. We'll spend over a thousand bucks on a gun and complain about the cost of moon clips.
-
If you have smaller hands or an optic on the frame, you may have to place your thumb through the window and hold onto the cylinder. This is how my buddy Brian Crews does it. This method is not as fast, nor wise on 36 round stages without a glove on. The forcing cone can really scar good.
I'm right handed and I use a strong hand reload. I tape the middle finger on my weak hand so I don't burn myself on the forcing cone. They do get "spicy".

The 8 shot 38s do reload easier with the short brass. My 627 keyholes with short brass but most folks here claim good results.
If I haven't been spending too much time with the bottom feeders, I can reload in just under 2 seconds with full length 38 special. For me and my revolver, the short brass isn't worth the accuracy tradeoff.
