  1. Any one ever have a problem with the trigger weight going from 2 lbs to almost 15 sometimes on their open gun? Just had the chamber reamed from 9mm major to 38sc But dont think that would effect the trigger. With out a magazine its like 2lb trigger with loaded mag and under the clock trigger is about 10 lbs and had to set off.

  2. Anyone running 147's thru their X5's yet . they keep good accuracy with heavier or does the X5 like lighter rounds ?  Just bought mine today after the link in my 2011 broke i figure imma need a backup gun.

I was also wondering about POI shift switching from a red dot to the irons back to dot etc depending IDPA or USPSA production or carry optics.

  3. If you want the most accuracy out of your barrel you will need to ladder your loads and see what harmonic the barrel likes. Ive had great success with 3.6gr WST at 1.145 147gr flat point blue bullet. 4gr WST 1.10 125gr round nose Blue bullets and 3.0 grains of titegroup 1.145 147gr ibejeheads. The blue bullets didnt seem to like tite group in my gun anyway.

  4. I broke the barrel link on my marauder and sent it in they said i needed a longer one? so i had STI replace the link now my guns groups seem to have opened up at 25 yards with the load i was using. 3.6gr WST federal primers C.O.A.L. 1.15 Is this the link or just me? can the length of the length effect accuracy at a certain load?

Do i need to re ladder my loads to get the best accuracy again?

  5. Shooting the 147gr flat point out of my M&P pro and not at all impressed with the accuracy using Titegroup. With both 2.8 and 3.1 grains, very accurate at 12' over the chrono, but groups open up to 4-5 inches at 30'. A friend mentioned that I may get better accuracy with a different powder. I have both Power Pistol and ETR-7. Any recommendations?

Loading the blue bullet 147 for my M&P i found groupings didnt do well when using WST at 3.6gr but the 124 at 4.0 shot one hole at 50' talked to S&W there twist rate is not good for the really heavy 147. so i bought a storm lake barrel and they work pretty well now. but now i shoot the 147 in my marauder and my steel master and they love them.

  6. Talked to sti they said they are going to fix and only needed the barrel? Sounds weird to me that if the link broke because inproper barrel fir then maybe you might want the slide with it? but any way sent the barrel to them today. so it went second day air they will have it on wednesday and return time will be ? lets wait and see

  7. So im on almost my last stage at a local IDPA match when my STI Marauder goes from a frantic semi auto to a single shot. I finish the stage ( only had 1 target left) Then i return to the safety area to tear it down and see whats up. Thinking since it has never had a problem before and i didnt clean in after my last practice maybe she is getting finicky and needs to be cleaned. So i break it down and out drops a half circle piece of steel that i was like OK where the heck did this come from low and behold its the lower half of the circle on the barrel link. So my question is

    1. Does this show a greater problem Barrel not properly fit , Slide fit incorrect etc .

    2. is this a normal piece to break if so will STI fix it or should i send it out to a different gunsmith?

As i have several STI's and 1911 and have never seen this happen before i am a little apprehensive about what could be going on with my pistol.

  8. I'm running a 9lb recoil spring and a 17lb mainspring in my Trojan 9mm. I think it came with a 12lb spring. The gunn barley moves. Here is a video that a friend shot of me shooting it. You can really tell in stage 2.

what power factor are you running I run a 147grain 9mm at 137 PF with a 11lb springer recoil spring . had a 9LB but on bill drills my spread averaged 10 inch or just a hair more went to a 12 now the average is about 5-6 inches 10 shot from the holster at 10 yards.

  9. So here is the question i just finished my 5K= rounds of 147grain RNFL lube ring and looking to order more and now my supplier offers a 147grain rn without a lube ring or my regular bullet with a lube ring. Im always looking to squeeze a little extra accuraccy out of my pistol so my question is, Has anyone shot both lube ring and non lube ring and noticed a difference in accuracy ? One would think the extra bearing surface would help the bullet spin and there for keep its trajectory true longer ? Or is it just a flash in the pan easier to load into the casing thing?

Of course these are poly bullets ......

  10. To try to save the division i woul dlove to see or get the numbers on how many people quit or changed divisions when the rule went from 5" to 4" for revolvers. Maybe they should bring the 5 inch rule back to try to save the revo division alot of 5" revolver shooters in uspsa looking for a place to shoot their 6 shot 5" revolvers? Just an idea. I dont shoot esr mainly but i have qualified in it. Make a stand alone event for revolvers that wayt people who shoot in both catagories ( semi and revo) dont have to choose at a state match what you want to shoot the semi you have been really practicing with or the revo you take out evcery once and a while..

  11. I love them been using them for the whole season was able to shoot a side bet thing at a local club match hit a half size steel at 131 yards 9mm 147 gr . Do a ladder for your pistol and you will find they are really accurate.
