So last night I was testing some loads and the gun locked up so tight that it took two of us to get the dam slide moving, after getting the slide off it became clear that the ejector was bent.....this cant be common right? Pictures to show what I mean.

I completely strip the gun down after every match and every practice session. Always checking for cracks or abnormal wear. Just two nights ago I found a crack in my STI Executive's slide. Better to be safe than sorry. I would suggest getting the Dawson Extractor Removal Tool http://www.dawsonprecision.com/ProductDetail.jsp?LISTID=80000BBA-1268429736 As well as DP Grip Bushing Tool http://www.dawsonprecision.com/ProductDetail.jsp?LISTID=80000EB7-1297371529 Both those make it a breeze

Im running IMR 4756 and 124gr bullets. I think the malfunction was my fault, I dont think I reset the trigger, I have yet to have any malfunctions and the gun is stock as far as extractor and ejector -
So I finally was able to load up for ammo for the 38 and shoot it in a match, got alot to learn but overall Im happy with my performance. Took 4th Overall, 2nd in Open, and 1st in classification (U) I did shoot an all classifier a month ago with an open minor gun and even took a stage win, should be a C shooter when they recalculate in a couple days. Heres the vid, critique if you like

Gogun *thumb rest [generic]* on a STI Edge Limited Gun
factorysponsered replied to nmcferro's topic in General Gunsmithing
Make sure you order the right thumb rest, they make one for guns that are not an Open gun. Their Duster model is the one you want. http://www.shootersc...nish-P2552.aspx -

Well heck, Dawson reached out to me and said that you can't or shouldn't run SNL's for 9mm or 38. Bummer I have never heard that. What was the reasoning? I run the TT basepads but his followers would not work for me. Well heck, Dawson reached out to me and said that you can't or shouldn't run SNL's for 9mm or 38. Bummer Dave told you that? There are a gazillion people doing so with no problems. Interesting. I forget the reasoning at the moment, but if you look at their site now it says "Do not use on 38 super or 9mm mags!" -

As we all know its hard to buy 38 super ammo hot enought, and as hard to get components for load our own. My question is has anyone rebarreled their 38 super (replacement barrel) for 9mm to run factory loads? I can get plenty of 9mm here in Vegas, and I know I would have to change the guts of my mags. But I would be able to at least shoot the darn thing in steel challenge or just shoot open minor. If anyone has done it what is your recoil set up, and what barrel did you order to have cut for 9mm? Thanks in advance.

I figured grams was my best bet. Depending on how the run in the 38 I may switch to then for my 40. The taran follower doe not like me and I have to dink around with them after every match. -
Tomorrow I hope, a Trubor in 38 is coming my way. I was lucky enough to score a couple new mags for it too. Here is my question. What are everyone running for guts and basepads? I currently run limited with taran follower and springs-finally got those to actually work-and dawson snl pads. Thank you in advance. Also any tips and tricks would be appriciated.
