  1. As for expecting any specific timing between "Are you ready?" and "Standby", I have no pity for someone who is distracted by these things. Other than the logical constraint of it needing to be long enough to allow for a negative response, no timing is specified. The only timing specified by the rulebook is between "Standby." and the beep. My standard timing between "Are you ready" and "Standby" is for the person who does not respond. They may not respond for a number of reasons, including not hearing the command. If you want to make the time faster, respond in some way. Otherwise, stay focused, wait for the "Standby" and the beep. Don't let your personal peeves affect your own readiness to perform on the stage. Voicing your displeasure at me over my timing will get you nowhere when the problem is really in your head.

    Exactly this, Jesus just nod.

Exactly not this. Just run the range commands -- or fetch an RO who can. They're not that hard......

I get the frustration with goofy commands like "gas it up" etc. But "are you ready?" Is a question. Responding doesn't hurt you one bit, and keeps the pacing consistent. Sure you don't HAVE to respond but I can't figure out why you wouldn't.

It may not hurt YOU. There are a lot of shooters that get in their own "zone" after MR I prefer not to respond. You are range lawyering against the rules(I think). After MR, I turn my ear pro off. I am only thinking about the stage and listening for the start of the beep.

Yes. ^^ This. I spent a LOT of money to come to this match. Please use the standardized commands

  3. I followed the instructions to a T. My limited gun turned into a single shot using this crap. Snake Oil at it's finest.

Actually, Snake Oil, as sold by Dillon Precision, is a fine gun lubricant. Originally developed for high speed dental drills. I continue to use Mobil 1. A quart lasts forever.

Same here. Been using M1 for 2 years and the guns runs like a champ

  4. Complete BS, IMO. I would have fought that tooth and nail. When I am in the "box", I am in a sort of zone. I have tuned everyone but the RO out. I am only listening for range commands. I am kind of like a dog at that point, bla bla bla Fido, bla bla bla. Bla, bla,bla Make Ready

  5. Gump,

You are lacking a sense of urgency in everything. You literally need to do everything faster. When it is time to draw... DRAW! When it is time to move... MOVE! When it is time to reload... RELOAD! You get the picture. You need to get and (or keep in several places) the gun up and running. You really seem to hesitate to pull the trigger the start slapping the crap out of it when you do start.

You see to be really safe. That is where it all starts. Now that you know how to be safe, start pushing yourself in drills.

You can work on all these things in dry fire. If you don't have a timer, get one. Get Ben Stoeger's and/or Steve Andersons dryfire book( I prefer Ben's) use it. Drive those par times in dry fire. Your live fire times will shrink in weeks.

  6. Gamers!

This coming from the guy who wasn't man enough to shoot a Glock, so he stole his girlfriends gun.

I'm all set for Open in a PM squad.

1st of all Tracy and I are married. :Secondly, I have issues with how Glock does business, so I sold them off. Thirdly: My sponsor provides my guns, and she still shoots an Open gun too. 4th, buy a real Open gun, that cz just went all gay. (Scott Thompson said so)

    Seriously? WTF was she thinking?

She wasn't. She was drunk in Tijuana. She had to be.

  7. Well add me to the "Dot went out during a Match" category. Really like the sight and was ready to buy another but after maybe 400 rnds it fails...you loose some confidence. The little metal contact tab on the bottom looks like a weak point to me...you are relying on the bent up tab to keep contact with the Batt. If it looses some tension the recoil of the gun will break the contact and the sight turns off. Guess you could bend it up some and hope for the best...might be OK if you check it once in a while.

The Deltapoint has numerous contact points on the top and sides of the batt compartment, almost impossible to break all contact. However those tiny torx screws are a PITA and the delta does wash out a-bit in the bright sunlight...RTS has a very bright dot and the window is bigger.

Guess the fall back is the Classic Cmore either upright/ or aesthetically unpleasing on its side..it does work pretty well. If there was some sort of click adjustment for wind/elevation with no locking screws that would be a big plus...I can handle the sideways thing;)

And THESE are the experiences I have been waiting on. Thanks for posting!

And I was hoping we wouldn't see these. Dang. :(
