  1. I found the extractor was dirty but had no cracks or burrs, nice and sharp edge. What I found when I took apart my seating die was some build up on the seat which can make for the shortened length. What OAL are you running?
  2. Merry Christmas All. We have been having trouble with our STI Trubor factory gun with Failure to Extract problems. I examined the extractor and it appears to be fine. Load Win Small Pistol Primer (Standard) Range Brass Montana Gold 124 JHP 1.155 OAL targeted some as short as 1.145 HS-6 7.8 gr 1425-1450 FPS ~176 PF The FTE started with the latest batch so I pulled several hundred and found some with heavy charges up around 7.9 to 8.0 range. I assume that the increased powder but thought I touch base with the group before loading up any more that might have the same problems. I also noticed that some of the OAL shrunk as much as .010 to 1.145. Does anyone see anything wrong with the load? I suspect the OAL variance is an issue? Others? Any reason to believe the extractor is the issue? Thanks George
  3. This bushing is weak on para's. I shoot a P-16 in limited and had mine come apart in a match. I asked the other para shooter at the match and he had the same thing happen back when he hit around 10K rounds as well. George
  4. Clark's is in Tioga up north of Denton about another 30 minutes. I never saw a pad pe say. But there was lots of talk of landing helis in the cow pasture across the highway. Great barbecue for sure. GT
  5. I only load on a RL 1050 so while I completely understand the issue between switching primer setups (30 minutes) I like the fact that I have both. For me if the cost of converting the 1050 to small primers and the tool heads was less than a new press I would convert. After all if you don't you will eventually spend the money to convert for the .223 anyway. Converting the 1050 will be less overall cost and likely less overall time. Even converting the priming system I can do a complete caliber conversion in about 40 minutes assuming the tool heads are complete and ready to simply put on the machine. Just my 2 cents of personal experience
  6. I have been running a RL 1050 for a little over 10 years. Mine was manufactured in 1989 if you want to swap some measurements I would be happy to measure eom items. PM me and. Can talk. I have had mostw of these issues over the years one at a time and all have been solved with the FAQ's on these pages. I am in MSP if you are close enough I would be happy to come over and help. If not then like I said PM me and we can exchange measurements. George
  7. GunCat What kind of fiber tic front site are you running? I am seriously considering ordering a Dawson and wanted to know what was working for you. Thanks George
