Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I'm still looking, Omega grips will custom make you a set if you call them. I just haven't called them yet.
  2. You can. It requires frequent cleaning and barrel inspction; and a good, well developed, load that you have found not to lead your barrel much. If you're one of those people who like to brag about how you never clean your gun and it still runs great, you may well end up hurting yourself or someone else. Easier just to get a drop-in barrel or shoot FMJ and not worry about it.
  3. The small, felt dremel bit is a perfect fit for the .45 chamber. I use some flitz and go back and forth a few times at low rpm. Then I turn it off and go back and forth a bunch of times. This keps the grain(?) of the polish in the same direction as the travel of the round. Good luck, and go easy
  4. Well, our noob thinking was that it would get the round in place for the slide quicker and more positive engagement of the slide release. I not am having problems with stock springs, but just a "value added" thing. Thanks for the replies. It sounds reasonable to me. Maybe not necessary per se, since you aren't having any failures. But if the slide is moving faster, it stands to reason that to keep the gun in time, you would want to increase the mag spring weight to prevent ftf's. Although, I have run some pretty light recoil springs and never had any problems with the stock mags. But if it makes you feel better, and you've got some money burning a hole in your pocket, might be worth a try.
  5. No. It isn't. Sounds like your slide isn't moving fast enough. Your either over sprung (unlikely, unless you changed spring weights) or under gripped (far more likely). Make sure your gun is well lubed and you are using a firm, high grip. Good luck.
  6. No one listened to this guy, but I think he may have hit the nail on the head. Shorter cases will not enter the seater as deeply, affecting crimp I recently had to mic every 9mm case I own and sort them first according to that. Then according to headstamp. Royal pain, but may solve your problem
