  1. I have been using the Blade Tech DOH for a couple of years now. Three seperate times the spacer bar that allows you to adjust for different belt thicknesses has popped out. I prefer the kydex holsters to the CR Speed or Ghost, I like the simplicity and they feel safer to me. I have talked to several people who use the Ready Tactical for IDPA and ICORE but didn't know if anybody used it for USPSA in revolver. I was considering the Ready Tactical or a Comp Tac, would like to use the same holster for all three different games.
  2. Anybody use the Ready Tactical revolver holster for USPSA. I currently use a Blade Tech DOH for my 625, but was looking at the Ready Tactical so I could use the same holster in USPSA and IDPA. Yes, I know I can take off the drop shank on my Blade Tech and mount it higher, just think the Ready Tactical looked practical and was wondering if anybody had any experience with it.
  3. Matt, I currently have a CED 6000 and have used it in the same manner that you have used your timer. It hasn't been totally reliable, and thought with the airsoft timer I could wear it on my pants and be more mobile, like practicing reloads on the move. Reading up on the CED 7000A timer for air soft I think it would work, just didn't know if anybody else had tried it or not.
  4. I like the idea of the plastic bullets, but to be honest, its a little to much extra work for what I'm looking for. I know the airsoft timer is suppose to be adjustable for lower frequency sounds compared to shooting the live rounds or primers. Was thinking that by using the airsoft timer I could adjust to the hammer falling on the revolver and just dryfire, since most of my dryfiring is done in my bedroom or somewhere else in the house. My wife would appreciate the lower noises and wouldn't have the expense and time into making the plastic bullets.
  5. Does anybody know if shot timers will pick up the hammer falling when dryfiring revolvers? I have tried using my regular shot timer to pick up the hammer fall when dryfiring but it doesn't seem to work, even after adjusting the sensitivty setting as low as it will go. I saw that competitive edge dynamics makes an airsoft shot timer, I think its the CED 7000A, and wasn't sure if it would work. Trying to get more exact times for my draws and reloads while dryfiring, as opposed to using a par time. Anybody have any experience with this?
  6. Awesome, thanks for the info.
  7. Does anybody know how to get a hold of bam air soft targets? Sent an email through there website the other day and haven't heard anything. Is he on the forum where I can PM him, trying to order targets for airsoft training for my department I work for.
  8. Thanks for the info. If it was legal, I had only planned on shooting short colts in SSR with the speedloaders. I have never tried using the short colts with a speed loader, so I'm glad I asked about it before trying it, both in terms of the speed loaders and the rules. I also shoot 625's in USPSA, and have a four inch I can plan on using for ESR division. Using moonclips alot I thought it would be fun to shoot with the speedloaders. Will use my 625 for ESR, and will get speedloaders and load 38 special and use my 686 for that.
  9. Is it a no for the short colt because of the length. I thought it would be OK because of it still being 38 calibre. Either way its no big deal, I can load for 38 special I just would like the convenience of loading the same load essentially for several games.
  10. I have two questions. First, I have a S&W 686 with a four inch barrel. Can this gun be shot legally in both SSR and ESR divisions? Second, I have a S&W 627 that I shoot in USPSA and am going to start shooting in ICORE. I currently reload and use 38 short colt in my 627. Is 38 short colt a legal round for IDPA in both the SSR and ESR divisions? I am wanting to shoot the 686 with the 38 short colts and wanted to make I wouldn't have any problems.
  11. Took my brand new 627 to the range today and to my delightful surprise one of the pins on the hand broke off. I have an exra oversized hand in my safe and would like some advice on how to fit it in. I could send it back to the factory but don't want to wait all winter to get it back, want to shoot it at our local indoor matches. I would like to do this on my own, so any advice on how to do so would be greatly appreciated.
  12. Hey Hop! Myself and Lefty45 sent our match reg in to you last week, just making sure you got them. Ed Savard
  13. I just researched some old posts and saw someone uses 9mm dies for reloading 38 short colt. Have you heard of this? I have a seperate Lee undersized die for 38 special already that I use on a seperate station. If I can use the 9mm dies I'll be good to go. I think I saw you use VV for powder, I currently use Clays, you heard of anyone using that for 38 short colt?
  14. Sorry, saw you covered the starline brass question, just need to make sure my 38 special dies will work with it. If so I'm good to go.
  15. Right now I have a small amount of mixed brass. Was getting ready to order new brass until talking to a friend and seeing your post about the 38 short colt. I just wanted to make sure that my reloading components on my Dillon, which is set up for 38 special, will still work for reloading the 38 short colt. I assumed it would, but didn't want to buy the brass and find out after it wouldn't work. Was going to order starline brass in the 38 short colt as long as I can reload it with the 38 special dies and components. Will starline brass work in the Hearthco moonclips from TK Customs?
  16. I'm glad you brought up the 38 short colts. Just shot my first match with the 38 loads I made up. Shot it with my 627. Two things. The brass is loose in my mooncliops that I bought from Ranch Products. Some are tight, and others when pushed into the moonclip are loose and wobble around. Second issue, when I ejected the the empty brass with the moonclip the brass would get hung up between the cylinder face and either the frame or the grip. A friend said I should look into the 38 short colt. Is it essentially a 38 special but shorter? Meaning that, can I still reload them with my 38 dies, and how much does it change the amount of powder I am putting in each case, depth of seating, etc,. Lastly, is it more expensive to buy the 38 short colt and can I still use my 160 grain Bayou Bullets in 38 with that brass.
  17. I don't know the exact brand name of our airsoft guns. We use Safariland ALS holsters, some light mounted some not. The guns they bought don't even come close to fitting in the holsters. The info you gave is great and will help me with providing info to buy guns that are better then what we have. I didn't think about the Glock copyright issues. I'm surprised Glock doesn't make there own airsoft guns to sell, like they did with Sims guns for training. I imagine though, that even if they did, they would be expensive.
  18. I have been shooting IPSC for a long time, two years ago I started shooting revolver in USPSA/IPSC and really enjoy it. I would like to shoot other matches with revolver also, and was thinking about shooting PPC or Bianchi Cup, but thought Bianchi would be more fun. I primarily shoot my 625, but just recently got a 627 in 38/357, and didn't know if the 8 rounds in the gun wouldn't be allowed in Bianchi. I live in Ohio and Circleville is the only local club I know of thats does a Bianchi type of format. Are there more clubs around that I am not aware of?
  19. Is anybody using s&w 625's in Bianchi Cup. Don't know much about the sport.
  20. That is a nice gun. But why doesn't someone make a post for ugliest, but yet still functional gun, or have I just missed it.
  21. That guy has to be from Germany!
  22. If you are worried at all about keeping it in nice condition for collecting or possibly reselling then don't shoot it. If you plan on shooting it at IPSC it will develop definite wear and tear. So, if you make the decision to shoot it alot, make the modifications Carmoney said to, and enjoy it.
  23. I played rachquetball growing up and agree it would help your skills alot. I have also heard, and am not ashamed to admit, that table tennis is suppose to be great for helping with shooting, especially with the hand eye coordination.
