  1. Thank you. I have a CRONO on the way, just got the tripod in the mail today. I will start off real low with CLAYs and most likely just use it for minor loads untill I run out of it. I have ordered some TITEGROUP and will use that. Thanks for all your help.
  2. WOW, 2.6 grains for minor Glock. I guess I better try that before I shoot the 3.4 grains I made as a starting load. Thank you.
  3. The Search Function Police. I have noticed that most of the people who are on this site are more than happy to bend over backwards to help out. But for a very small few it seems they have taken it upon themselves to be the 'Search Function Police'. If some person asks a question on this forum it would be great if you could help that person out if you have the time. But it upsets a few on here because they think that person may or may not of used the search function and then they a post a rude comment on the tread. If you want more people to visit this site it may be a good idea to send a PM to this person and in a professional manner and explain to him how the search function works. Also if you decide to send a PM to this person it may be a good idea to not rip the guy a new one. How about being professional and show him the ropes. Makes some people want to have the ability to reach through the computer and slap someone. For you "Search Function Police", relax already. My mother told me if I do not have something nice to say than say nothing at all.
  4. How much CLAYs did you have in the round when it KABOOMED? Did you double charge it? Was the OAL to short? Did you get hurt? Were you able to save any of the Glpock for parts? What do you think happened?
  5. Thanks guys. Now if I can just load up some bullets and shoot them all would be good.
  6. WOW, I am scared to use CLAYs now! I guess I will just load minor for practice and use up the CLAYs I have. I only have 2 lbs of it anyways. I am now unclear on what powder I will use. I have been reading here and on other sites and it seems everyone has the powder they like. I just wish I could get a powder that everyone likes. I was going to just use #7 but the guys at the match last month told me not to use it because it was to slow burning. So I got the CLAYs and now after reading it seems like I may not want to use this CLAYs after I use it up. I will keep reading untill I find a powder, buy it and try it out. I reloaded some rounds at OAL 1.125 with 3.4 grains of CLAYs and a few with 3.6 grains. I will crono them ans see what they do. If the gun works with them I will justy use the CLAYs untill I run out and than move on to another powder. Thanks for all your help and again relax "search function police".
  7. I was going to load OAL 1.125 for a Glock, I sure hope it fits?
  8. Anyone got any loading data for Montana Gold 180 gr using Clays. I am shooing a Glock 35.
  9. I only got 500 for only 38 bucks from them. I just took a carefull look at them and I would say 97% are in real good shape. I wonder were this guy geets his brass from? I guess from now on I will just get my brass from The Brass Man! Thanks guys for your help. I just got 1,000 rounds of 40 from Montata Gold today. Looking foward to loading these and going to the range with the new CRONO and learn how this all works. Sure wish I had a friend localy that could watch over me but oh well.
  10. I just got 500 once fired brass off a web site (brassman). Is it safe to reload these? I try to collect my own brass on the range but it is very hard since the other guys are behind me also picking up brass. I end up after a match with someone elses brass instead of the store purchased ammo I got from walmart. Your 2 cents would be great.
  11. Good Idea. You can also get once fired brass of the internet and also off the for sale area here on this forum.
  12. Because the whole fast powder/heavy bullet for Major isn't exactly the most forgiving thing when it comes to mistakes. Clays is fine for Minor. Some are using it with success for Major at longer than factory lengths (1.18-1.20) in a 2011 pattern gun. But a slower powder is probably a better choice for an inexperience reloader for .40 Major. Well it is to late for me I guess. I will just take it slow and one step at a time.
  13. Why does eveyrone on here say that a new guy should stay away from a fast powder? I am brand new and am using CLAYs so everytime I read that I start wondering if I should go back to #7. (I have yet to fire any of my rounds yet, waiting on a crono I ordered off the internet).
  14. The price of the barrel will set you back about 125-150 bucks. You can set up your dillion for 40 S&W for about the same price or less (I think).
  15. You have a G35 so I take it the gun shoots 40 S&W? Maybe it shoots 9mm. If you want to shoot major with the 9 I am not sure how you do that to make major or if you even can using 9mm, I will have to look in the book.
  16. "Cali Jail", What does that mean? You can;t have a Glock 35 in that state?
  17. I think 140 or 170 u r talking about sit mags. Glock with mag extensions for a 40 will get u 20 rounds.
  18. I am new but if he and I are using a Glock 35, the gun will only hold max of 20 rounds. If this is true we still have to do more mag exchanges than the guy runnimg a 38super (I head these 38 super guns hold close to 30 rounds).
  19. Why not use the CCI primers if I had trigger work done on a Glock?
  20. WOW, I never seen this before, thanks for the photo cause it will help me later on down the road.
  21. I was wondering the same thing. How does one see a bullet tumbling?
  22. I am also new to reloading. I got the LEE case trimmer for 25 bucks! It has a string you have to pull to turn the case while you you trim. I am sure it is not the best but for $25 bucks it sure does the job.
  23. I run a Glock 35 in Limited and production. How hard can it be to take off the optics and the compensator? I have never had a open Glock or seen one but I would think it would be easy to take off the red dot and just put a stock barrel in it. Not sure? Post a photo of your gun so we can all see it.
