I've had a 686-3 since 1990, and yes the ejector rod is shorter. I shoot PF's of 130+ and haven't had to be brutal on the rod, even with .357's.
Use a Hoppes 38 cal Tornado brush through the cylinder after each use to prevent the 38Sp buildup.
I love this revolver, it was a wedding/Chrismas prezzie from my late Wife.

I did this with a safety pin and a wire clip.

According to IDPA's web site, he's no longer a member.

What happens when you slingshot the slide? If it is still sticking it's more than likely the recoil spring as previously stated.

The BK loader is case sensitive. Get Winchester cases and .35 moons from Revolver Supply Co. Also get yourself a large number of moons. I have enough loaded that I don't have to screw with them during a match. I use boxes from the Walmart fishing department to keep the moons separated.
This is what I did.

I would like to shoot the Free State match again this year, but right now I have a jury trial scheduled for the week after the match. So it looks unlikely.
I also want to shoot a Midwest ICORE Regional if somebody organizes one that is reasonably close. Watching for this.
It's a real bugger when work interferes with shooting (pleasure).

Have you checked out LA Police Gear?

They must be converted to a csv file.
Go to IDPA.com, then your log in page, then scroll down to downloads where you will find 2 files (pdf)
Uploading results to IDPA Results Upload Template
Hope this helps.

I'm running 60/40 mix of corn blast and Lyman Treated Corn Cob in a Lyman 2500 magnum Tumbler.
4 used Bounce dryer sheets and a squirt of Nu Finish/mineral spirits mix.
Run the machine for 2 or so hours and the brass is clean enough for me.

Then they wonder why no one goes to their matches.
They also use unqualified people to SO too and they don't know what they are doing.

Get yourself the Lyman Shotshell Reloading Manual and that should help.

One club I used to shoot at made the stages that the designer and MD could shoot. You needed to be a contortionist to complete some of the stages. That was the last time I shot there.
Follow the rules? They did when it was a non club member but not for their club members.

I don't think that you want to fill in the gap because could/will make mag insertion difficult.

I generally lose them before I get splits.

They are the same except for the ratchet. Longer on the super.

Like Hi Viz, Dawsons', Warren Tactical.
Ya makes ya choice and pays ya money.
I never saw the need for an adjustable rear. I've shot my Glocks in competition out to 35yds without issues.

Looking at the manual, it looks like the pin will go out either direction.

I have seen stages at the Nationals and Worlds that were not IDPA legal, and they have run with them.

I just roll sized a 9mm case (CasePro100) and dropped it into my Dillon case gauge. Went all the way down.

But what should have happened is a collaboration between MD, or whoever determined the problem, and the stage designer / setter-upper to adjust and explain their reason and methodology so to encourage volunteerism instead of kill it.
Hearing about a match every week at the same club is a little odd, at least to me. Around here, the club MD's collaborate and alternate match weekends through the month so that shooters get to move around to different clubs and there isn't the weekly pressure to set up at the club, that could cause volunteer burn-out.
Totally agree, but it didn't happen and they drove away a stage designer, worker and shooter in one foul move.

There is certainly some truth to that. I used to show up to my club early and set up a stage. See we have 6 IDPA matches a month. So the stages are what ever the guys that show up early come up with and build
I remember one week I built a stage that had you activate a disappearing target with a PP, but to slice the pie you had to engage a open target at 7 yards between the PP and the activated target. I was told it was to hard and they tore my stage apart.
A couple weeks later I built a big stage, I made sure to walk off the distance between positions so I stayed with in the rules. But I didn't break out the tape measure. They determined I had 1 or 2 yards to much between each position so they tore my stage apart again.
Now I sleep in and show up late. I'll only shoot 4-6 of their matches a year there and I'll not build another stage at that IDPA club.
That's sad, but the truth maybe that it was too hard for them to shoot.

You weren’t round dumping. You were ensuring tactical dominance.
Too funny! I must remember that one.
That's one to use as a reason in IDPA!
