I just put an E2 aggressive on my STI.

On the Alpha X It worked ok with the standard STI insert but rocked back and forth a bit and like ZZT said it would hang up occasionally on the draw.

The SV Steel insert I got last week fit perfect, no rocking and no hang ups. It's not too tight so there must be some variation somewhere.

I've also got an open gun with a locally made plastic grip that fits better in SVI steel insert.

I just switched to the alpha x holster from the safariland 014 (didn't work with the xwf).  I had the same experience as you with the svi insert with my e2 grip.  It fits great and is smooth on the draw.

Of course and I did try different springs. I tried a wide range of recoil and hammer springs along with firing pin stops in an attempt to mitigate the muzzle dip on the Nemesis and I couldn't eliminate the dip with my normal hard grip pressure. The only way I could eliminate the dip is if I gripped the gun with 50% of my normal grip pressure. If I did that then the muzzle would come right back down to level. Like I said, these guns are designed for specific shooters needs. If you don't have a hard grip pressure then the Nemesis will likely track and return to level better for you.

The problem with that is its a bitter pill for Type A personality shooters to accept. They all think they are gripping the gun "Hard" when in reality they are not. This is why I suggeste to test drive both and see which one works best for you.

Makes sense, thanks for the details.  I picked up a new cheely on his xwf frame and like it a lot.  I was thinking about playing with the springs but probably don't need to as I shot more alphas in my last match than usual.

I was deciding between a nemesis and the cheely and ended up going with the cheely.  I'm happy with my decision but still curious to see how the nemesis shoots compared to my new one.

Titan or Nemesis...... Both are great guns which are designed for specific shooters needs. I had the opportunity to test drive both before I settled on the one that works the best for my style of shooting. The Nemesis helps return the muzzle to a level position when the slide snaps forward due to the extra weight out front on the sight block. How hard you grip the gun directly affects this “return to level” scenario. For me, I grip the gun HARD. Hard enough that the extra weight out front worked against me and I couldn’t stop the muzzle from dipping low as the slide snapped forward. The standard Titan obviously has less weight out front so it didn’t have the same dipping low problem using the same grip pressure. I wanted the Nemesis to be “better” for me because it is a really cool gun. But in the end I went with the one that performed the best for my style of shooting which was the Titan.

This is where you need to check your ego at the door and test drive both to see which model performs better with how YOU shoot. Regardless of if one costs more of less than the other, pick the one that works best for you.

Would playing with the recoil spring weight help with the muzzle dip on the nemesis?

  4. My reason for  suggesting the signature grip is that atlas makes a helios model with the cheely e2 grip that also has a non functioning grip safety and ithey claim it is legal for IDPA.  If the signature grip is the same (similar profile) then it may be legal for IDPA use as well

Uhh Nope... Unfinished / sharp end goes onto the guide rod & seats against the end plate... Unless of course you like to gouge the heck out of the guide rod w/ the sharp end of the spring w/ every cycling of the gun...

Every 1911 I've ever owned has been assembled the opposite way...

I know this is an old post, but I just experienced the same issue as tho original poster. Paid for 2 belts and then waited over 2 weeks for them to arrive. Contacted them directly and was told I never completed my transaction and therefore they were never shipped. Unfortunately I went directly through CR Speed in South Africa and I have no way of canceling the order, because they say it was never completed. I have the confirmation email showing the purchase was completed and a credit card statement showing it was paid for. I will be contacting my credit card company, but due to the amount of time that has passed I doubt I will get my money back. Guess I should have bought American Made

You have 60 days to dispute transactions on your credit card.

Agree but then it is time to change the advertised time line.

I am waiting on a gun from a builder that I won’t name. I was told ~4 months. It’s almost 10. Ready to lose my mind

    Underpromise, Over-deliver

I was turned away from a builder because he was backed up more than he could handle.  I appreciated that he was up front and honest about it and even went out of his way to recommend someone else.

Plenty of opportunities to shoot USPSA within an hour or so of Charlotte.

Spartanburg Pratical shooters is the 1st and 4tn Sat

Rowan Practical Shooters is the 2nd Sat

    CGGR is the 3rd Saturday

There are several others in the surrounding area as well if you’re interested.

Thank you, I might be relocating so I was wondering how much better off I would be in the area.  Definitely more options than I have now!
