I have a 9mm sentry and run a 9# spring with it the only time i ran into an issue with the slide not locking back was when i was using a shock-buff. I got rid of it and it has run flawlessly since, locking the slide back on an empty magazine every time.

Make sure your grip safety is still functioning after the trigger job. I had to have my smith, reactivate it after he originally deactivated it.

You should be fine with weight, I have a 9mm sentry with the Dawson ice magwell, mil-tac g10 grips, and a stainless steel guide rod that made 42.75 ounces with the factory mag. I switched over to an aluminum flgr, just to be on the safe side unless the scales are calibrated/not calibrated the same. The aluminum guide rod will take off .9 of an ounce. Good luck with it, I have about 7000 rounds through mine and I love it. I run tripps with it and never had an issue

A friend of mine is buying an STI eagle in 9mm for IDPA. He's wondering if he needs the tuned magazines. I thought you only needed the tuned magazines for the additional capacity but seeing as you can only load to 10th in the magazine, I didn't think he would need the tuned ones. Thoughts?

What power factor does most .40 factory ammo make (winchester, remington, federal, etc) out of your 5" 2011's? I know most reload but for those that don't or have tested them, please let me know. Do they all make major?

Does anyone know if the dawson ice will take the Chip McCormick Power mags without any problem?
I'm guessing I would have to go with the gap one.
Thanks
they will work with the gap version, not sure if you'll need bigger basepads on the bottoms so you can seat the mags though...

Go with the Trojan and add the parts you want to it. You'll likely want a different magwell than the one that comes with the USPSA, and you'll probably have a trigger job done. Might as well spend the extra money on rounds and more magazines... Just my opinion
-
Any reason you are limiting it just to Sigs?
-
I'd go with the Trojan, its right at the max of your range but definitely a great gun.

+1 to Model19's recommendation, i have the same type (back when i bought the light they didn't make the adapter). Or you can just turn it on and stick it in ur wasteline before the buzzer goes off, i know some people that have tried that. Lol

Not sure if the doh is IDPA legal. I thought you couldn't have offsets.
Check comp-tac also, i don't know if they make one for the gun ur talking about but i like their products and use them for all my IDPA gear

I hear you can buy whatever 1911 you want from out of state, you just need to find a ffl that will do the transfer in for you. I'm no lawyer and don't want to give out misinformation so check with a local store that may be able to clarify it...
But to answer your question, i'd probably go with another SW, i remember hearing that sig is on the approved list so you could possibly have a 3rd option

White out pen works for me, bit it chips after a while

I appreciate the feedback, maybe i should just suck it up and put the deposit down on the infinity :-)

I'm Jealous!

I'm looking to see if anyone has experience with the STI Apeiro's, they seem pretty nice (though I'd rather have the Infinity Sighttracker). I want to get into USPSA and want to shoot limited so I want a gun sooner rather than later. Has anyone used one, what are your thoughts?
-
I didn't see that one coming, I thought he'd end up with Springfield or Smith... I wish him all the best. He's a great competitor and a stand up guy!
-
There wasn't a major reason for those two choices other than they were close in price and from observation, they just seem to be more common (or its just that i recognize those more than the other name brands out there).
I'm planning on competing in the Limited division (just getting into USPSA, I shoot in IDPA currently but want to start playing the other game as well).
-
You should be good to go, the trojan is a great gun and very reliable out of the box. And a big +1 to ordering from Brazos!
Buy it and shoot the crap out of it
-
Not sure if comp-tac makes it for that gun, but i'd check with them, i am happy with all of the products i've bought from them...

I'm about to buy my limited gear for a 2011, should i go with the CR speed mag pouches or the safariland 771 mag pouches?
-
I think wilson has other mags that have the thin basepad so it will be close to flush with the frame. If you get into it you'll probably want to start adding things to the gun like a magwell and such. So the flush basepads wouldn't seat as easily.
Competition holster for STI Trojan 5.0 40cal.
