Which factory make barrels for STI? In term of the quality, what rank of STI barrel?

CZ probably not a good choice for small hands. I am a man who have very small hands. For CZ and clone, the grips are very comfort and fit to my hands, but the problem is the trigger. The trigger is too far for first shot (double action).

If you are new to IPSC and also new shooter, stock PARA is the best to start. You may use the P-16 limited for 1-2 years without any modification needed. When you shoot better and you sure of IPSC loving, that's the time to spend money for modification or even other guns.

I also believe in that equation for long time, but it was opposite to my feeling. I tried 40-200 grain and 45-200 grain, the equation say that the recoil should be the same, but I feel softer for the 40, anyway at that moment, I didn’t trust my feeling. Finally I found that my believing wasn’t always true. If you compare the same bullet diameter, the equation is perfectly fit, let's say 45-150 grain and 45-230 grain. But if you compare different diameter like 40 to 45, there must be some more factor in the equation, but I don't know which factors to be considered, probably: friction, pressure, force, barrel weight, and etc. You may prove that by using the same recoil spring weight also same bullet weight for both 40 and 45, and investigate shape of shock buff after shooting for number of rounds, 40 always have longer life of shock buff. And even you use 14lb. spring for 40-180 grain, the shock buff still looking better than the one in 45-230 grain that uses 18lb. spring. Mai

Well, if we looking back to many of previous post about rule and division, we will see that the most confusion, arguable, and disagreeable are about guns for production division. Its must be something missing from the rule, so more and more question about what guns, what parts, what equipment and etc. My opinion is we have two ways to reduce the upcoming confusions, questions and so on. (It’s just an opinion, OK?) One is put more sub rule such as weight of gun, may be specific to model, say, no more than 700 gr. for G17 and 1050 for sphinx (we want to put a lot more work to officer, right?). Or may be no tungsten guide rod, no fiber optic sight, no more than 15 rounds, also some like Flex said and many more. And we may keep the Production Division as it was meant to be. The another one is reduced the sub rule. Let’s keep only as few as possible, say, single action for first shot, 5-lbs. trigger, 5 inches barrel, and lets the shooter modify the rest. And let’s change the name to Racing Production Division. Mai

Could this situation be happened? Some day, the production division may end up to be a competition between gun’s company. They may create a production gun that actually not proper to use in real life, but aim only to win the game. The company who making the best racing production gun will be the winner. And the shooters will be forced to buy the very expensive gun in order to stand up front and be able to compete with other shooters. And also for the normal citizens, who want to have a gun to protect their life, end up buying guns that specially made for racing. Probably, Glock is the only company, who wants to make only production guns for real life only (at least, for now). Mai

For the 20% left over, it might be easier to talk to Vince during Bali-match, because it might be too much detail and lead to a very long boring post. For your second example: things may not be that easy, if you shot 26.xx and the written was 36.xx. Or quite a long time past by, let’s says, shoot in the morning and we find errors by the end of the day. And from this example, you are a very good sport man, how many shooters will go back and ask for lower score? What will I do if the same situation had happened to me? Something went wrong, I figured out that the partime wasn't the same as I set. Someone have this problem ? Say, I set partime to 1 sec, the actual partime could be .8 or 1.2 or..... This is the computor problem, program problem, well what is the problem? mai

MAS, I am 125 lb, very small hand, and use PARA P14. Hope to have some money and move to .40 either PARA or STI. I feel less recoil with .40, and I don't know why its feel like that. Same 175 PF, 230 grain for .45 and 180 grain for .40, by all calculation of force, momentum etc., the .40 have faster action so it should release more energy and also more recoil force. But, I feel the opposit way. I have trouble with GLOCK 21, way too big grip and real hard to control the recoil. mai

Opps! I mean "NO PRACTICING is allowed, only ONE SIGHTS CHECKING is allowed. Remember that IPSC is about "shooting on demand". We allow walkthroughs for safety reasons (so that there are no surprises), but the only time you're supposed to have your gun actually pointed at each target is after the Start Signal, when the meter is running. Vince, are there any rules about this: We intentionally set up a surprise-stage, no shooters may walkthrough. Let say, one day match, RO set the stage up in the morning and have enough wall or barrier so no one may see the stage from outside. A shooter, one at a time, enter the stage after LAMR and then look for the targets and shoot. mai

After trying the target set up for few times on the different ground conditions, I found the exact problem you mention. If the ground is too hard and too much small gravel, the splash dirt is very powerful so the paper target swing up very high, lot of fun to see that, but after 10-20 rounds, the targets were severely tear down. The problem can be solved by cover the ground with farm plastic sheet or any kind of grass. But level of amusement is decrease because of the target jump up not so high. I also tried attaching two targets together, this also work for at list more than 100 rounds. If the ground is soft no problem at all. Do you think Satis is a sadistic shooter? (Satis is my first name) Or may be, Mai is a maniac maner?

Well, What we did is very safe (I strongly believe). That array of targets is placed at the first shooting position, shooter stand right in front and have to shoot through small and quite narrow port, so no other shooting angel can be possible. We set up the stage so shooter may able to move to following normal targets only after they finished and no see the first group of targets anymore. mai

Continuing question, One of my friend (he has a lot of experience and also a good shooter) told me that laying paper target flat on the ground is not recommend to do, because of safety reason, and most of the international didn't do that any more. I like to know that this is the correct information? So next time, I may or may not desire to set up the stage like this again. I like the way of target movement right after the bullet hit the ground. The explode dirt create the series of targets move up and down in a sine curve, and it 's very impressive specially to novice shooter (and me). How about another stage set up: I place paper targets some distance above water pond and shooter have to stand in specific spot to make sure of very safe shooting angel (guarantee no ricochet). When we shoot, the bullets pass through the targets and hit the water, and create a kind of explode spring water. This is also fabulous scenario to me. We did that once on the last year local match.
