  1. Buttons are made of bullets? has a huge stain on it? I want this so bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :sight: lol. Is it made of pactches? one sleeve is longer/shorter than the other. Only has one button? Is it really long?

  2. is it a women's shirt? pink shirt? buttons painted on? see through shirt? has a funny character on it? made out of spent brass? made out of targets?

  3. where did you get the 14lb spring? i'm looking to get one

yeah it doesnt matter what PF you are shooting really, i think the 14lb spring helps the gun dip less after recoiling it seems to shoot flatter for me

    Where did you buy yours?

  4. What do you guys think about getting into reloading JUST for the money savings? I hang out on a woodworking forum a lot (another hobby) and there some shooters there and I asked about reloading in the off topic forum. I think it came up that I was considering getting into reloading for the money savings, and most said that that's a very wrong reason to get into the hobby. Or something to that effect. Maybe that you wouldn't be happy doing it, or something like that. That being said, that $9.50/50 box of Federal at WalMart makes it hard to justify the cost of the initial equipment (at least for that one caliber.)

Walmarts in the bay area here in CA don't carry ammo at all. They barely sell hoppes solvent lol

  5. This is my small but very functional man cave, it is approx 5X10. I only have one reloader and it's a SDB so I don't need a whole lot of room, I actually think that having the small space helps me stay more organized.

    Like the xd hat

  6. What's the norm that most people shoot in 9 mm for Production and Limited 10? I'm just getting into competing and i like the 115 g over 124g. I'm hopefully going to start reloading early next year and am wondering if I should stay with 115g or go to 124 maybe.

I only shoot 9mm.....is it worth getting into? I have thought about getting a LEE 1000 or a Dillon SDB....

  7. I ended up getting my son his own XDM 9mm as well. I had Powder River Precision do trigger jobs on both of them. My son was having trouble with spent case ejections that I thought might be due to a sometimes weak grip. I put a 14lb spring in his gun and he has a couple thousand rounds through it now with no problems.

where did you get the 14lb spring? i'm looking to get one

  8. Patrick,

Just curious. What type of pistol are you shooting? What type of ammo? Factory or reloads. Just looking for a little more info. that may be helpful to know.

I'm shooting a xd9 tactical. I'm mainly shooting 115g fmj reloads from miwallcorp that i get at the local gun show (1000 rounds for about $180, best deal for a college student) and/or pmc bronze.

  9. Another cali shooter!!!!!!! welcome to the forum! Where do you shoot or where are ya from?

Hello! I am from San Bruno, CA - right near San Fran. I was taking shooting lessons at a place a couple miles from my house. They make shooting difficult around here, but if you get outside of the Bay Area craziness it's not as bad. Where are you from and where do you shoot?

I'm from Richmond. I primarily shoot at richmond rod and gun club

  10. I'm going to be getting a press for xmas and for the last few months i have been picking up any piece of brass i can lay my hands on. I've been shooting 9mm reloads from miwallcorp (best once fired reloads imo) but i had a few that were a little deformed (bullet dented and didn't wana risk running it thru my barrel). I pulled them apart so i could keep the casing and throw away the deformed bullet and had them (3 in all) on my work space and long story short, my dog decided he wanted some love and jumped up on my lap and that knocked those 3 casings with the rest of my 9mm casings. I can't tell which one's they were and what has me worried is that they have a live primer in them. ( newbie and wasn't thinking very smart)

When I run those 3 casings thru my dillon 550b after i get it, will the station that takes the used primer out set off the live primer in the 3 casings? I'm worried about a huge accident possibly happening....What can I do? DUMB DUMB DUMB ME

  11. I am thinking about giving my xd9 a trigger job and was wondering how low can i go on it. is 2.5 lbs the lowest or what do you like? Is this legal?

I'm also thinking about switching out my sights for truglo or dawson is this legal?

I have also thought about getting a new guide rod, one that has a little more weight to it...is this legal to use for these divisions.

Is there a topic or site that has a set list of what you can and can not do for the xd9 tactical or atleast for these divisions thats in newbie language?

  12. My local gunsmith said that i should get truglo sights on my SA xd9 tactical but when i called springer about a trigger job they said not to get those because they are bad for competition. I'm going to be shooting limited and production outdoors so what are good sights to have? If you say Dawson i'm confused by what you have to order....some local guys said to get adjustable sights so do i need to get both front and back adjustable sights or can i just get back.....newbie here so please be detailed lol.....

  13. depends on the trigger kit you got.

Im going to be the opposition here and coin the idea of doing it yourself, cause for one, yes you will save money, maybe not time...but you WILL save money, then you will learn that you actually CAN install accessories and parts on your pistol yourself and do a good job.

i bought a powder river drop in trigger kit and have compared it to 2 other XDm pistols that both had trigger work done by a smith and my trigger that i put in myself was very comparable.

If you are good with that stuff i'd say give it a try, just make sure that you got all the tools you need. punches/ screwdrivers/ tweezers/ file/ that kind of stuff

but then on the downside if you screw it up you just wasted X amount of dollars, which can and will happen once ina while, and the upside of sending it to some dude to do it for you is your not worrying about borking your stuff.

im pretty sure the reason alot of these guys stay in business is caus they do real good work

thanks a lot. i'm looking at powder river or springer. What kind of sights do you have on yours.
