  1. Torogi...my POA was pretty much at the center of the target. My normal, 25-yard POI is just about 6 o'clock, right at the top of the post.

    * Bullet= Bayou 135gr

    * Powder= AA#2 @ 3.9gr & 132 PF

    I wish I can do 50yd practice. Indoors can only go 25.

    Im curious at what POA to get about center of that IPSC target. And at what zero? And bullet weight.

  2. Thanks for the compliment, guys. I doubt I'm equal to the mechanical accuracy of my CZ, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. :)

    This is probably similar to the 22-yard 1.5" group, standing off-hand, I did a while ago, in that I probably wont' be able to replicate it with any semblance of regularity. Just wanted to show that my gun, ammo, and load did their job, and I was happy to be along for the ride.

  3. Had 6 rounds left in the mag at the end of my short practice session. Decided to do what Ben Stoeger often does. My first time grouping at 50 yards, off-hand. The group probably would be a bit tighter from bench. A "regular" Shadow ain't too bad.

  4. I was DQ at my first USPSA match for barely breaking 180 -- "barely" is still breaking. The RO was very apologetic about the DQ, but I would have none of it because it was my fault. At that point, it had only been about 6 months since I shot a pistol for the first time. Admittedly, although I was aware of the 180-rule, I did not know many other rules at all.

    I came back to the sport/game because I enjoyed it. The DQ was my fault and the RO was doing his job -- nothing more, nothing less. Shortly thereafter, I shot more and got my RO certification. Stop coddling people and let them learn. If they can't behave like adults, then that's their problem.

  5. Just swapped the sears between my primary (problem) and backup Shadows. The primary Shadow is now better, but still a tiny bit of rubbing. I probably should just order another sear to play around with it.

    If I get a new sear from CZC, I would have to fit it to my safety. Right? Alternatively, I can get an adjustable sear from Cajun (3x money). Any thoughts? Thanks.

  6. I did have to remove some material from the "front" part of the TB leg so the single-action will reset. Prior to removing the front part of the TB leg, SA will not reset at all.

    I just put in a backup (not new) sear. Still didn't work. How would a new sear help? Thanks.

    I was thinking yours might have a shorter than standard TB leg. Guess not.
    So the problem started after fitting the comp hammer?
  7. Anyone has experience with the rubbing of sear & hammer-hooks, even when the over-travel screw has been backed all the way out? The sear just won't go any higher.

    Are there solutions to resolve this?

  8. Just watched several Area 6 videos. Apparently, people still have a difficult time comprehending the definition of "Arms hanging naturally by sides." I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

  9. Those I get as the WSB/Set-up Notes state as such.

    You will need to use plastic or some sort of vision barrier on classifiers that dictate as such...examples are CM 99-34 Ported View and CM 03-09 On The Move...they specifically state "Vision barrier"

    Edited to add title of 03-09

  10. That's pretty much what I was thinking. Given those classifiers have been run with both solid and netted-walls, I guess I'll just use whatever the club has. This is just one of those "gray" areas USPSA should think about.

    On the other hand I can see where it could possibly be construed as an advantage to use a net wall on a classifier if another club used solid walls.

  11. Quick question for y'all...

    For classifiers, does it matter whether walls are solid or netted?

    For example, CM 09-08 Crackerjack, although its Set-up Notes do not specify wall-type, the walls are "pictured" to be solid. I've seen videos of this classifier in which walls have been both solid and netted.

    Thanks.

  12. I used to shoot the combination of Clays/Bayou 135gr. It was soft and quite accurate.

    Though, there are a number of factors to consider before you proceed with heavier bullets. OAL, PF, chamber depth of your pistol. Check for any primer-flow as that could be a sign of pressure. Clays can spike-up pretty quickly. YMMV

  13. Well, just because we/I don't live there at the moment, that doesn't mean we/I are not from there.

    I went to Park City and walked up and down Main Street this afternoon. I wish I owned the appropriate clothes, I would have tried my hand at skiing this afternoon. I'm working all week, so I'll be mostly trying restaurants after work.

    I like how the response thus far are all from people nowhere near Salt Lake City haha
