Mine runs 9mm and 38sc but not 38s.
-
What size are the retaining pins?
-
I had to swap followers and springs to get mine to run. I need to shoot more than 2-3 rounds or they will not drop free. It's not usually an issue but it can be on certain stages...
-
You must make adjustments to the bullet dropper. It is sensitive to bullet profile. Be careful if you dissemble. There are, I think three, small BB's inside that are very easy to lose.

I measured some .223 cases and 38SC cases. The .223 cases were around 10 thousands smaller in diameter. In a worst case scenario, where the case is 10 thousands away from the extractor, it seems like it could slip off. Can anyone confirm if a super extractor has a longer hook? Also, would this fix FTE issues with cut down .223?

I agree with the OP, everyone's gun is reliable with 38 SC, this is just an exercise (maybe futile) of finding a cheaper option if you have access to inexpensive 223 brass.
Maybe switching your AFTEC to a 38 super would improve extraction. The .223 case rim is a few thousandth smaller than 38SC. Would a super extractor have enough contact area with a .223 case?

I got a Five Gallon Bucket from working Open Nationals Last year.Unless you are volunteering some of your brass, I'd still like to find a lower cost option.

then why mess with anything else?
I can't always recover my brass. Also, I can get .223 cases for free, which beats paying for 38SC brass.
Its something i wanted to try. I was hoping someone else may have figured out how to get it to run in a super comp gun.

How does the gun run with .38 supercomp?
My gun is 100% with 38SC.
-
aftec extractor in a 38sc gun. Mostly failure to extract. I can understand a FTE when I am firm firing. However, form fired "should" run, its only 1 or 2 thousands off from 38SC in the rim area.
-
Has anyone had any success with cut down .223 cases? I get FTE and double feeds frequently with cut down .223. However supercomp runs 100%.

Roll sized, once fired from a police range. Then, plunk tested in my barrel. I haven't had any ammo related issues at a major match.
-
I also like PD, 124 JHP. Accurate and cost effective.
-
Measure the diameter of the bullets. I got a batch that was under sized.
-
I tried 200 grainer's with a 6" gun and didn't like them. I dont remember my load.
I am using 180 zero jhp, 4.5 grains n310, 1.185 coal. It made 172pf at nats last year.

I don't have any issues with mixed head stamp 40 brass. Having said that, I run same head stamp for major matches.
I can feel a differnce in 9mm, especially 9 major.
-
It solved a problem for me in 40. As a bonus, I can get an extra round in a big stick. I put a pw drive on my case pro, so I roll all my brass.

I think I am going to wait for one to come up on the classifieds.

jeezuz that thing must be loud and need a lot of powder with all 6 holes in the barrel! I've seen IMM's with 2, 3 and even 4 holes but I've never seen one using the full 6 holes including the 3 square holes with a comp as well. yikes!
It is very loud! 10.1 grains of 3n38 drove the gun down.
-
That is why I said IMM and did not refer to barrel length. It is definitely not a gov length.
-
I bought an IMM on here and it is fantastic(black slide). My friend has an older SV for sale with different style barrel and comp(stainless) I am trying to cost effectively duplicate my gun. I assume the same barrel and comp should make the guns "feel" very close.
It it seems like rebarreling should be fairly easy...
-
I am trying to duplicate my IMM without paying a small fortune.
-
I was afraid of that.

Is the SV IMM barrel the same as hybrid that they sell on their website?
