I use a skeet and a LM. The sleet will knock down steel out 20yrs and the LM is my go to for spinners.

I bought a complete ignition kit directly from EGW.

EGW in mine. Got a great trigger

I put a Dawson LPA cut sights on mine. It required minor fitting. I used the same height front sight with no issues.

Well , I used mine in its first 3gun match today. Let's just say it's performance was less than stellar. I ended up calling it a day half way through the shoot . Too many failures to extract. The slide would come all the way back and then forward to try and strip anotherround from the mag only to be stopped by the empty case still in the chamber causing a jam. When time counts , that blows your day. Because I will be asked I was running 125gr RN
I had to tune the extractor on my 9mm to get it to run 100%. I also installed a Wilson Combat Bullet Proof extractor in my 9 and 40.

I just bought a S&W 1911E and am very pleased with it. I have about 200 assorted rounds thru it with no issues.

I'm running a 14lb spring in mine shooting 168pf ammo. It will run with a 12 but it feels better with the 14.

I measured my 9mm HC and then called EGW. He told me the specs on my barrel and bushing were as good as the one they could sell me. No reason to change.

Bull barrel
-
Is the 51782 a bushing or bull barrel ?

I use the same holster for my 9 and 40 and have to make a slight adjustment on the tension screws between the two.
-
Thanks guys.. any problems with the rail fitment?
-
I use my 9mms for 3 gun with a blade tech holster.
-
They don't show up because I ordered by phone. My online orders are listed in my account hostory

Hey Hump, do you remember the p/n they gave you?
I don't have that info but I will call Dawson tomorrow and see if I can get it.
-
I replaced both of mine on the same gun. I called Dawson and spoke with them about what I wanted and ordered them. I had to do some minor fitting but nothing more than I expected.

Has anyone replaced the sights? I want to replace the sights on my 2011 9mm (51679). I have a couple of questions:
1. What is the cut for this gun? (Novak is what I heard) I want the sight picture/presentation to resemble my STIs
I've been up on Dawson's and they have an adjustable sight for Para. (the cut is listed as LPA) They also have an adjustable listed for RIA 1911, however, it's slanted.
2. Should the replacement sights fit the Para or RAI 1911 (Dawson's lists both mfg)
The fronts sights listed are for Para and RIA 1911. (They have different part numbers, however)
Thank You

Quadrant,
What I would do if you just absolutely nave to use the Taylor Freelance is to ink the mag base on the surface that hits the magwell and then take it to a local machine shop to be milled to correct depth.. Fortunately I have access to one . Option B would be leaving all alone and running the factory magwell ??
I had to open up the factory magwell on my .40 to get the mags to seat with the Dawson extensions. I used a dremel and a file to get the mag to seat and then blended the magwell to the frame of the gun.
-
That combo (option is the one working for me ..For now anyway
Think I'm going to go with option B for now. I am going to try to compile a list of items that works well with the RIA 2011 specifically the 51679Quadrant,

Thank You for all of your help!!!!!
I figured out a long time ago if your going to run a 2011 you have to be willing to tinker with them.

Who makes these magwells. I need one for my 40

I went with the .100w Dawson as well and the difference is huge. Much quicker picking up my target.

I shortened my frame to meet the idea required dimension. I also had to go to an aluminum guide rod and remove material under the grip to reduce the weight. ESP rules allow frame modifications but do not allow slide lightening cuts.

Just installed a EGW ignition kit in my 9mm Tac Ultra and it really improved the trigger. It was easy to fit and the pull is about 3lbs. Much crisper than the stock parts. I may work with it to try to get it to 2.5lbs but it feels good now.
