  1. I spoke with the Canik reps at The Gathering at the Clinton House on Friday and was told the parts supply would improve greatly once the Canik manufacturering plant was up and running in the US.

  2. The FP plunger in my Rival S with a Freedomsmith trigger functions as it should. The liability of selling a trigger that disables a safety function is not something a manufacturer would accept. I have Freedomsmith triggers in 2 SFX's and they also function correctly.

Possibly missing using a magazine with a +5 extension on it.  Or a gun that wasn't built/designed right.  You may have a different batch where it issue was fixed.

Follow what I do in this video with both magazine versions and then see if you're missing something:

I got it back from warranty service 8 weeks lather and the issue wasn't solved.

Thanks for the info. I cannot replicate the issue with any of my mags.(std and +5) I would ask for a replacement pistol as something is out of spec with yours. I ended up getting a new 2011 limited pistol after several warranty attempts to fix a frame that was out of spec. Hopefully the customer service at Canik will get better as the 8 week turnaround time is ridiculous.

Glock, Sig Sauer, Walther, Smith & Wesson... Please send me by PM where on this site people are talking about reaming the barrels of brand new guns from these manufacturers because of ammo that works in one gun model that doesn't work in the other.

This a common issue with CZ pistols

  5. I have small hands and have no issues with the slide lock. The slide locks on both my SFX's protude out much further and I haven't had an issue with them either. I run the large grips. Screenshot_20230414_083240_Gallery.thumb.jpg.1a1d145149d425bb1aad40538cf9b6b7.jpg

  6. My S has been 100% reliable both out of the box and with spring changes. I shoot 135pf ammo and so far have not had any issues. I installed all the grips and really like the large size. I stippled the grip to match my SFX. The trigger now breaks at 2lb 4oz.

What did you do to get the ejector assembly out. I tried to remove mine but could not get it out.

I honestly don’t remember what he said  said to me. But after shooting the gun yesterday I would guess a striker spring

If the springs were stock I would clean the firing pin channel. If the springs have been changed the recoil spring may not be strong enough to hold the slide completely in battery.

For the trigger I recommend the springco competition spring kit and a 6lb glock striker spring. Add a freedomsmith shoe and thats the best striker  trigger you're going to find anywhere. Recoil spring you can get either a w74 tungsten rob and commander length 1911 springs or a glock 34 SS setup from wolf. I played around with a few weights but settle on 15lb. Holster GX vice if you you want to wait 6 months or smokey mountain concealment for a quick turnaround. I ordered my GX in november and still dont have it. Got a smokey in about a week custom made. I got mine for the poly rival and had to file some to get it to fit but word on the street is he  has a  steel mold now.

Already have a 6lb glock striker spring. (Have 2 SFX's set up for Carry Optics with all the mods). I put a SS guide rod and a 15# commander spring at functioned but needed the lighter striker spring. With the SS guide rod I had a problem getting the slide to move forward. I finally got it apart but don't know what the interference was. I run Sig 320 guide rods in my other Caniks with no problem.

  10. I shot the Rival S at The Gathering at the Clinton House Plantation yesterday side by side with the Rival. Canik had a booth at the range with most of their guns available to shoot. The S is a completely different feel. I liked it a lot but still prefer my SFX. It reminded me of the CZ Shadow which I shot for several years. I plan to buy one at some point to add to my Canik collection.
