I'm with ysrracer, the 929 takes an exorbitant amount of time to make run reliably for competition. The minute you try to reduce the trigger pull to a manageable amount, game on. In all honesty, I believe a good business, like TK Customs, and others are worth the money. They know what they're doing.

Agreed. I've talked to people that own a 929 and they tell me it's great, 100% reliable with all factory ammo.

When I get more information, they're going to the range once a year and banging away at static targets.

It may be fine for that, but for my purposes it needed a ton of work from three different gunsmiths...

...well, two gunsmiths and one tractor mechanic in Phoenix :)

I've been looking for some Federal #100 SPP.  Saw Miwall in this thread and bought what I needed.  Mine came UPS.  I had the opportunity to change the delivery location to a local UPS Store.  Might have to do that next time.  Thanks for the lead on primers!

I like the Kansas talk - Lived in Dodge City for 3 years.

Yep, Miwall in California is my "go to" for Federal Small Pistol Primers.

This is our Classic style sight base. It is 1/4" square x 1.5" long. It is shorter than the Weigand/Bowen base which is 1.75" long. This one has a setscrew in the front rather than a spring loaded plunger in the rear. This design makes it much easier to get the sights in and out, and holds them more securely. The sight base is made of stainless steel. We also make the sights to go on them, but any brand of Classic style sight will fit. The sight base comes with a #6-48 mounting screw. They are $45 + shipping and can be ordered from our website (use the contact form).

Wow, those look great. Thanks for still making them  👍

The ultimate "Is my ammo strong enough?" test is "Will it go to Slide Lock when shooting Weak Hand-only?".  If it'll do that, it'll run the gun consistently.

     Agreed

If the case is flared big enough to get the bullet in, that station isnt your problem. Maybe its not the flare/powder drop but the seat station die... what kinda seat die are you using ?  Back it off a 1/2 turn the adjust the seater part down,,, thinking maybe its removing all the flare and reshapping before the bullet is all the seated..
Also not getting the pullet placed on the brass square,, or having it tilt when the shell plate moves can cause shavings as well.

    Interesting...

If you're using a dillon powder measure i think it's uniquetek that has a powder drop expander for.358 bullets.  It does make a difference.

I tried one of those. It opened up the case too much. I finally settled on a Lee U die, a Mr Bullet Feeder funnel, and a .358 coated bullet.

I run same dies,  .358  Coated 160gr.  The .358dia bullet fits damn tight in a 9mm case to begin with so it doesn’t take allot of crimp…

I crimp mine until I see a ring on a pulled bullet. So far so good.
