  1. How often do you guys change your moon clips? I use mine once or twice and them toss them out... ...April fools
  2. Check the front side plate screw that holds the crane in place BEFORE every match. Mine comes loose. You'll need a special screwdriver from Brownell's .
  3. I guess before a revolver can be sold in "Blighty" it needs a few modifications. I wonder how they work for ICORE
  4. I also learned Revolver Supply moon clips don't work very well with a BMT mooner, even with the adapter ring. If you want to use a BMT mooner (and you do) TK moon clips are the way to go.
  5. I also learned it's simply not worth having a 627 cylinder cut for 9mm. Factory 9mm ammo is not designed for revolvers, and doesn't work very well. If you're going to reload, you might as well reload .38 short colt and be done with it. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
  6. So here's what I learned: If your 627 cylinder is cut for 9mm, Revolver Supply 929 moon clips will work. TK 929 moon clips need the "ears" between the chambers "relieved"
  7. Greetings all, I'm switching from .38 special to .38 short colt in my S&W 627. I've got a couple thousand 160gr Bayou bullets. The powder I have on hand is 231 Clays Titegroup AA#2 AA#5 With Federal primers. Anybody got a favorite load they'd care to share? Thanks
  8. The Rocket? That guy's a poser I shot with his grandson Mike Reed, and he seems like a good kid.
  9. My issue with the .040 clips is THEY COST TWICE AS MUCH as the .035 clips. I'm thinking if I take a .035 and wrap it in the foil from Wrigley chewing gum, I should be good... ...and I get a piece of gum
  10. Hey I'm a newbie too. I've got both a 627 and a 929. I probably should have just started with the 929. I've found TK moon clips with a BMT mooner is the way to go. Other than that, I got nothing.
  11. My smithed 929 gets light hits using factory ammo. I've even cranked in the strain screw. I recently found out Federal 115gr 9mm ammo isn't crimped. Anybody seen this before?
  12. Nelson and I shot together at the National Guard Armory back in the late 80s He knows his stuff.
  13. Who's doing the work for you?
  14. The weather in October is usually 70 and sunny, with a cool breeze coming in off the ocean... ...where I live, but I'll be in Phoenix shooting a couple of revolver matches

  16. I talked to Mojo about fitting the cylinder. He told me to try just swapping the stars. I did, it works like a charm. I'll test fire it next week.
  17. I forgot to ask, once a 627 cylinder is cut for 9mm, do you just use 929 moon clips?
