  1. I just discovered a smallcrack on my EGW 9 port comp :o It's still small enough to shoot. So the gun goes off to EGW for repairs in January. Click here for a pic of my blaster. I intend to recycle the slide and barrel. Due to the lightening cuts in the slide I do not think drilling holes in the barrel will be an option, so I intend on going with a new comp only. I like the angled plates of the current comp, but feel it's an outdated design so I want to update. Thus begins the quest...

This is my first open gun so I do not have a comp knowledge base, but I have been reading everything possible on the forums. I really wanted a titanium comp to shed some weight, but decided to go with EGW (they don't make any titanium comps) whom I am comfortable with. And besides I do okay with the current long & heavy comp.

In a very old post I read Pat Harrison's recommendation for the Matt McLearn style comp as produced by EGW, but I am unsure which comp that is. Can anyone identify that comp? www.egw-guns.com

Please share your experiences with EGW comps (i.e. 4 port EDM shot very flat but had side-to-side dot wiggle which was later eliminated by adding a side port to the front baffle of the comp).

I feel like I bug George too much already, so when I bring the gun to him I want to have an idea of what I want.

  2. Awesome match, I had lotsa fun. Very challenging, which is a nice change from up close and personal targets. There weren't many RO's on a few stages, but my squad of four (yes, four) didn't seem to care.

Was cool seeing Kingman again, and meeting Steve Moneypenny. :D

It was very cool being squadded with David Olhassa (sp?), he is a riot. As an example, on the very first stage I ended the stage with a No-shoot hit, David walked up and, with a sarcastic smile on his face, yelled back to the other shooters "HEY, I NEED A WHITE PASTER OVER HERE", I was having a hard time clearing my gun because I was laughing so hard.

  3. carinab,

I don't often share forum posts with my wife, but I had her read yours....you've just bottled so many of my thoughts <_< 2004 has been, without a doubt, the toughest year of my life with many new changes, things I perceived as suffering. Please keep up the awesome, inspirational posts :D

  4. The windmills were hell, and some of the other movers were too far, such as Stage 2 Speed Up! Maybe "too far" isn't the right way to describe it, let's say they were further than movers I had ever shot before, thus my lead on them wasn't sufficient resulting in Mikes.

Prior to the match I proclaimed myself very skilled on nailing movers, after the match I was left thinking I needed to go home with my tail between my legs and practice them.
