Okay Schawb, how did you do?
Alan
Don't know yet. My mainspring died on the first two stages, so I killed stages 4 & 5, but replaced the spring and went on to do well. I was 16th starting today, but I only had three stages to shoot today (most people shot 4 stages, and some shot 5 today), so I dunno. I shot awesome today so we'll have to wait and see

PS - Bill Schwab looks much younger in person than his avatar would have you believe!
32 years old for the record

Hey - did you guys know they're shooting a half day today????
Yep, in fact I finished shooting an hour ago, so there should be some news soon. Awards start tonight at 5.

That was one of the most well organized matches I think I've ever been to! Great job to Larry and his "chronies" (as BamBam would say).
Shooting with Bill Seevers, BamBam and Matt Trout was awesome, these guys are fun....I always enjoy the matches best when I'm laughing all day (even on the way home).

Small amount of Chip McCormick Trigger Slick.

There were some on gunbroker a few weeks ago that didn't sell for $900, yet one sold on e-bay about a week ago for I think $980.

Let's let the final scores tell the story
Saturday - AM ( I just wanted to be ahead of Schwab) -

Hilarious
I would hardly call my current blaster a beater unless you are talking about what it did to you and your Brazo's -
Yeah, I think it's a Kramer too.

If you want the best get the Tripps , ALL the others have given me some sort of issues. I'll be shooting a singlestack 40 again after the Nats and all I'll be shooting is Tripp's mags (both IDPA & USPSA).
-
0.40" and they'll work with 40, in fact some Wilson 45 mags work fine (with modification) with 40 & 10.
Can anyone whip out a caliper and give me some feed lip measurements on their .40 mags??? -
I NEVER thought I slapped a trigger, but about a year ago a close friend of mine was watching me closely one day at a local match as I was shooting strong hand only, he said my finger was almost coming out of the trigger guard. That still surprises me because I never practiced slapping nor do I recall that sensation
Back on topic: I guess I slap my trigger sometimes but they're all under 2 lbs.

Just wanted to follow up on this.....I bought a #5 shellplate (38 Super and 9mm) and voila the problem is solved The press FINALLY works like a champ. Now I'm cranking out some serious ammo

Shooting Friday, see you guys there...

The early 82mm Kowa did have some issues which resulted in clarity issues. I thought those issues had been solved in later runs of that scope. With that said the 77mm was always a good performer. I had a good early model 82mm that was just as clear as the 77's, but I knew more than a few folks who had bad 82's.
Some of the guys I shoot highpower with don't like the "newer" 82mm objective on the TSN-821. Not as clear for some reason. The 77mm objective TSN-661 and a 25x Wide/LER eyepiece or 27x LER is the best I've looked through from Kowa. 223 holes at 200 are np and 300 if the light is right. Never had a use for 60x or variable eyepieces.
A friend bought a Swarovsky which is awesome but VERY pricey. Kowa scopes are tough and a good value.
Check out www.jarheadtop.com for used Kowa scopes.

Joe,
The gun is doing great. I only have about 400 rounds through it because I've been focusing on Open. I have had no malfunctions, and the barrel lockup is TIGHT. The gun shoots very accurately, as accurate as my two super accurate EGW 1911s. The major selling point to using Matt is his superb communications; he'll call and talk to you about things and try to get it the way you want it.
P.S. If you're looking for an Open gun I'll be selling my Caspian Open gun after I shoot it at the Nats.
Good luck.
Bill
Bill can wen get an update on how your pistol is doing? I am ordering a High cap Caspian frame for father's day and I would like to know how your gun is performing because I am thinking of sending it to Matt to have it built. Thank you -
White casefeed adapter did not fix the issue
Spoke with a 1050 guru at Dillon who said I need to either bevel my 223 shellplate or spend $54 + $9 shipping for a 9mm shellplate
The quest continues....
-
If you feel comfortable tinkering with the gun yourself search these forums for how to do it.
Otherwise tell us your location and someone will chime in with a decent local 'smith.
-
Maybe the best choice, But not the cheapest!!!!!!!!
I Think they ARE the HOT SETUP !!!!
Blue,
I contend that the Race Ready frame is cheaper:
regular Caspian singlestack frame = $185
+ S&A = $185 + $70 = $255
+ 'smith work to open it up ($50 or $100, depending on how big you want it opened up, on Matt McLearn's website) = $255 + $50/$100 = $305/$355
Race Ready frame = $260
Ron,
Any word from Virgil when those 10 rnd Super mags will be out?
-
Stripped it's 12 oz. Slickest singlestack frame I've ever seen. I just got one that I plan on putting my Marvel 22 kit on, but that magwell has visions of IDPA singlestacks dancing in my head

Very ingenious, someone was thinking outside of the box And Dave is right, that's a nice dot for a C-More.
-
Senna,
Thanks for the info, that's what I suspected. I'll give it a try.

I shot 4756 for most of last season and it varied a lot.

I saw the dot clearly for every shot. During the walk-through someone asked to see the house with the lights off, and immediately everyone turned the flashlights on, during this time I was playing with my C-More dot brightness to get it set just right, which was about halfway.
I was down 3 points in 6.49 sec.
