  1. My Caspian 38 Supers

8.0 gr Longshot, CCI Primer, MONTANA GOLD 130 gr RN .356 at 1.250" oal + 1330 fps

Soft shooting and works my 4 port comp at a comfortable 173 PF at 2500 ft

    11 lb recoil spring

  2. Cleanest load and most accurate I have been shooting this load for 10 years.

Using 38 Colt Short with 130 gr Montana Gold 356 RN (I know, I know its for 38 Super)

Fed Sm Primer, Starline Brass, 4.6 gr Universal Clays at 1.100" OAL

I have 100K+ down the pipe and my 627 is still 100% reliable and accurate!

I use to shoot PPC with the local PD and this is almost as accurate at

50 yds as my  lead 148 gr HBWC in 38 Special with 2.8 gr of 231

  3. Looks like a modified PPC gun for Bianchi style shooting.

The value depends on who built it & how bad someone wants it.

Send the pix to Powers Custom, they may be able to help you

  4. Please remember using PayPal is giving the anti-gun company profits.....I am certain that BE doers not approve of anyone on this Forum using PayPal......

From PayPal website "We don’t allow PayPal members to buy or sell any kind of firearm, whether it’s in working order or not. The same goes for certain firearm parts and ammunition."

For example, using PayPal, you can’t buy or sell:

    • Any firearm, including rifles, shotguns, and handguns, whether they’re for sport and recreation, collectibles, or curio or relic firearms.
    • Firearm parts, including but not limited to receivers and frames, silencers, and kits designed to modify guns so that they fire automatically. High capacity magazines, multi-burst trigger activators, and camouflaging firearm containers are other items in this category.
    • Ammunition, including propellants like gunpowder or blank ammunition; ammunition or cartridge cases; and primers, bullets, or propellant powder designed for any firearm.
  5. I was DQ'd for spilling my pistol, it was a good call at the time as I thought that I had brushed the pistol on a wall causing the gun to fall out. I took it like a man (except for a few tears :-)

When I got back home and watched the Go-Pro footage I made a YouTube video so that others could learn from my mistake. However, what I found was at 12 seconds the RO accidentally unlocked my holster, thinking he was helping me, and at 41 seconds where the gun spills and I am still 3-4 feet away from the wall.

Moral of the story, ROs need to keep their distance and never touch a competitors equipment without competitors express permission. This was not intentional by this RO but I am still out 4 days of lodging, gas, food, and Match expenses of $500+

BTW, this was the best of the NWMGC matches, in Stage design, food, prizes, super fast scoring, and Match Administration.

I plan to be back next year even if both Doug and Scott offend me :-)

I just started reading this thread after seeing a post in another thread. Dude, you got screwed! You're taking it well and I'm glad you're planning to go back. But that RO, WHILE HAVING THE BEST OF INTENTIONS, apparently thought you were going to knock your gun out. It sure looked liked there may have been a problem coming and he injected himself into it.

I can see myself making the same mistake and touching someones equipment. Lesson learned! DON"T TOUCH!

Thanks for sharing the video. We can all learn from this, us viewers, the RO and you most of all from the great expense lost.

BTW, what holster were you using?

    Steve

    Steve,

I was not screwed whatsoever as I had accepted the DQ because my gun was laying on the ground and fell out of my holster. I had told the RM that I thought that I had brushed the wall with my pistol in order to make it spill. I did not see this video until I was home and reviewed all the stages that we had shot earlier.

What I am hoping that comes of this video is that even a seasoned RO needs to keep his/her distance unless asked for help.

  7. Knowing that I will screw the pooch on one stage, I would gladly pay beforehand for a "Mulligan"..... if one has a stage with a catastrophic failure, this is where the mulligan would be nice to have. I seriously doubt that the Top Shooters would use it unless this happened.

Hearing back from those who have run these, they say there is no troubles, so what is there to lose in trying it? If you don't like it, don't buy it!

(the only problem I see is that I can screw up several stages and being able to choose which stage might be hard, can I buy 3 or 4 :-)

  8. Pan Pacific in Southern California use to make these too for the S&W 627 and Taurus 608. Neat people and the cost per 100 was really good. I still have most of mine from 1998. BE member Mike Gurule was the one who turned me onto them, I think he is now in AZ.....

    Posted 23 December 2008 - 09:57 AM

I bought 3 of the first run of S&W 627s at the 1997 Shot Show. These were already cut for full moon clips to compete against the Taurus 608 that was the first 8 shot 357 mfg and they came out in late 1995 and retailed for $329. Gunsmith Mike Gurule' of The Old Gun Shoppe in So CA would machine the cylinder and had Pan Pacific make full moon clips for the 608.

  9. All of Team Montana Gold appreciates the extra work that Montana Gold does to both sponsor 20+ shooters but also the 100s of Matches that are also sponsored by their generosity as this is their main source of advertising......and they have done this for 20+ years. Thank you Norm & Jolene! I would further suggest the spokesman behind Babaganoosh, come up to Kalispell, MT and show Norm & Jolene just how his buddy can make bullets for $70/1000, then duplicate that over the next several million bullets being made in the coming month. While he is there, lets also give him Jolene's office for a day trying to respond to phones, faxes, and emails for a week to see why they seem so slow. 11. Doug and NWMG RO's and support Staff,

I just got home from shooting with the RO's. Just wanted to say thank you for all of your hard work putting on a great match. While our squad (Squad 16) had some challenges getting the kinks out of a couple stages the first day, we were able to knock out the other 7 stages with time to spare. Great staff, great stages, fun all around!!

    Thanks again,

    Steve

Great Match and thanks to these two who spent their time organizing, designing these stages, and making this match happen.....take a bow gents!

These two make a great couple team!!! The match, RO's, stages, scoring were excellent! Thanks again everyone!!!

Bill thanks again for hand delivery of that much needed high cap mag.

    Jesse,

Congrats on the win! Now you can tell everyone that your Higher Capacity magazine helped you win by 1.25 points :-)

    Seriously though......congratulations!
