Don't get excited on stage designs. They don't mean a thing until you get out there due to the terrain. Just worry about what the max distance is, and even at that, figure a cap at 400 (but know your shots to 500).

For tactical long range/sniper rifle, you'll want to full length resize.

Per the XL 650 Conversion Chart, you should be using:
#5 Shellplate (for 38 Super)
#5 Station 1 Locator Pin
#3 Locator Pins
That said, for 223 (i.e. 38 Supercomp) you'd use the #3's as you'd stated.
So...given all that, why not try some #4's or a #5 to see if that fixes it.
Rich
ETA: On the Station 1 Locator only. FWIW, I'd check the shellplate and all the index parts (the spring thing under the center bolt and the screw in the ram).

Bobby's busy with the PRTC this weekend, but I'd be curious to find out why Remington rifle brass is not good brass.

Chris,
Call and I'll get you some info on reloading components. Plus...you can have my once fired Federal if you like.

Guilty. But...then I take particular pleasure in torturing people.
For the record, I can't tell you the last time I did this, but only do so, if they don't have a Debit/Credit machine.

Have you called George Gardner yet?

Ditto...or a Surefire.

Dave,
In the last year, I've seen on American Rifleman TV, coverage of Fort Benning, FNH and DPMS matches. Shooting Gallery added the Rocky Mountain. If the powers that be don't see that someone (with deep pockets) is paying attention to these matches, there's a big problem. These matches are exceedingly successful and have less than a third of USPSA's rules. Coincidence?

Rich,
I don't think EVERY other match you have shot has the number of RO's needed that the Nationals does. What's wrong whit shooting a match and working a match unless you wanted to shoot both. I've never been to an area match that has as many stages as the Nationals and most of the area matches I have attended had the RO's late into the evening.
Let's see. At FTB3G we had 5 6 RO's per stage, 4 of which shot through all the stages in one day and that was WAY more complex than a pistol match. Bottom line is that I'm not willing to take a week off just so my score will count. If I'm going to work a match, the absolute LEAST is that the score counts for the match and since you can easily shoot 6-8 stages in half a day (we do it in CA all the time) unless the Nat's has pushing 20 stages, which is still do-able, I don't see it being a problem.

And yet we can magically get the RO's in on EVERY other match we shoot.

Well...not having my match count for score, is more than disappointing. The wife (by then) and I were going to go until reading this thread. So at every other match we RO at, we can magically have the RO's shoot the match and their scores count but once again our National championship leaves its members wanting.

Bobby - That's just awesome. You let me know the other day that it was something you are proud of, but sheesh...you didn't say it was that good.
Awesome brotha!!!

How I know that I'm a good shooter is when someone else tells others that I am. I take this to mean that I am safe, confident, proficient and able to not only pass along information, but still be open to receive new info, apply it and discern whether or not it's an improvement or it hinders improvement.

As long as the brass is on a surface where it tends to sit up, it'll grab it (i.e. concrete, packed dirt, grass, etc.). It's pretty sweet.

YEP! They sure do. It's an pecan picker-upper.

Does anyone forsee Mil-Spec Monkey jumping all over this?

Dude...reloading components are scarce everywhere. I found a guy with 210M's, but he doesn't ship them. Dang it!!!
Oh well...I'll shoot up my CCI's first and then try some others.

Yep. I'm going to break it in with factory ammo on Sunday. Nothing spectacular. All my compnents will be here by like Wednesday and have a good week of brass prep before any REAL ammo goes down range. I might have to find some Federal or Black Hills after break-in just to see what it can do.

Joe - Being that it's short, but not that short, really, it should be okay IMHO. However if really does want to get rid of it, how many pieces are we talking? USPS boxes are great!

First step is to just box it up and send it to me.
Seriously though, if it's long, trim it and it should be good for another 3-5 firings.

That's awesome Trapr!!!
Hopefully he'll be out at FTB3G this year. If I can convince the (then) wife to go, I'm sure he'll have a new friend.
