  1. Kyle I beleive that info is for rifles. If EGW makes a die in .40 it is so you can use brass that has been shot in Glocks.Gets rid of the bulge. The 38 die would help when you pick up pieces of brass that has been shot in someone elses gun.I use a case pro. Expensive but it works great.

  2. Yes at our clubs we have found that usually just shooting the steel and forgetting about the birds leads to a better score if there are no miss or failure to engage penalties. This is a problem with some stages and how they are scored. It reallly sucks to zero a stage like that with those penalties.

  3. Who cares? If everybody is shooting .223 they are all getting scored the same it just makes accuracy a bit more important than a typical handgun stage. If you are shooting major you have enough problems with recoil,20rd mags and usually a gun that is a bit heavy. Some courses a major gun might be an advantage.I have seen one in 10years. It was a fixed time stage at the Miller. If I remember correctly Doug Koenig won it with a .223 (what doesn't he win).

  4. Thanks Patrick. I have a McArthur ordered. He said he was about a month behind. Your experience with the JP is what I see also when shooting. It has been the best brake I have used so far.Hopefully the the "Coke Can" will do better.

  5. "You want to get used to seeing the same thing everytime."

Oh it's like being married. :)

Seriously though, you can try cant or no cant and see what works best for you. You want the gun to recoil consistantly. I don't think I would crank the gun over too far.Holding the gun straight up seems a bit stronger grip wise.

  6. No you have it all wrong. If you have  squib rod with you you won't get a squib. I think it is the same force that makes the sun come out as you are stepping in the box right after you just switched to your clear glasses.

I use my squib rod to push the rag through my mags when I clean them.

  7. Oh don't forget the mainspring too. That will effect the whole cycling  sight travel deal. You pretty much need to get an assortment of springs in the weight range that your gun needs. I have standards that I shoot for practice and whenever I change anything on my gun. It gives me a baseline and I know for sure if something helped or hurt. Just get a bunch of ammo and springs and spend half a day at the range testing different combos.

  8. From what I have found (and I have a BIG box of springs) the sights will tell you the best spring. If the dot or sight tracks smoothly and returns to the same point you have got the right one.Of course if for some reason the gun doesn't function this goes out the window.

  9. Dave it sounds like you are hooked.IPSC is pure adrenalin. The more matches you shoot the more you will realize (hopefully) what to look for in your walk through. You need to keep your movement to a minimum and look for the best place to engage the different targets and what order. Look at it from every angle. You will be surprised what you will sometimes find. Don't always do like the others.Find your own way if you think it will work better for you.The best thing to do is make every mistake possible and then you will know what not to do.I wish I could tell you how long that takes but I have been doing it for 15 years and I still find bonehead things to do now and then.:)
