  1. Thank you, That's a big difference. Yes it will be used in .357 magnum handguns with .38 cases. So I could start at a much higher load?
  2. I looked at my manuals and came up with 3.2gr. start load for Missouri 158gr LSWC for .38sp. I calculated max at 4.1grns. After reading some posts on the topic, this seems pretty weak. What do you think.
  3. That will work, as long as I could use JHP data and OAL. Thanks guys.
  4. 165 gr. Precision Delta or Zero bullets. Win 231, So I could use Hollow point, and reduce the load and start there?
  5. Case in point, I looked on the Hodgdon site. .40S&W all they list are XTP and Hollow point.
  6. How do you determine how to load flat nose bullets? I see almost all .40 are HP or FN.While looking through my manuals I don't see much data for these type bullets.
  7. Thanks for all the support. I have always ran everyone of my rifle rounds through a case gauge. I will do so with pistol in the future. You all also made the loading of .40S&W less scary. Thanks
  8. Thanks for the feedback. I see that a lot of Zero bullets are out of stock.
  9. Rather than start a new thread, I thoght I'd see how people like these bullets?
  10. Duh, I hate it when people make my complicated life simple. (dont know why that one escape me)
  11. Without starting a flame war and argument, I have a question about loading the .40. I know a lot of the more experienced loaders are sick of these threads. I have a few questions on the subject. Does my XD chamber "support" the round? I definately need a case gauge with this round? Will my new Dillon dies I got for Christmas size some of the "bulged" brass that I may or may not have? Thank you all for all the help you have given people like me over the past year.
  12. Thanks for the replies. Borrowing is an idea.
  13. Anyone have experience with electronic muffs? I'm trying to decide if anything under a 100.00 is worth buying. Thanks for input.
  14. originally I thought of throwing a can in the range bag, for quick clean up.
  15. Yeah it's 223. I didn't think about that part. Thanks for the help.
  16. There some stuff I loaded and need to tear down. I have several dozen and would like to save the primers.
  17. Sorry but I have one more dumb question. Can I remove the decapping pin from my Dillon sizing die,and resize primed cases?
  18. What I want to do is re-install it in the sizing die. I removed it to clean. I'm not sure how to adjust it back.
  19. I have taken my sizing die apart ans cleaned. (.223 Rem) How do I set the decapping pin with expander ball ?
  20. I've ran 250 .223 rounds. I have 5 where the bullets are loose at the case mouth. I tried to re-crimp, with no luck. Anyone encounter this before? I pulled the bullets and they measure.223. I'm loading 55gr. Hornady Spire point, Hornady once fired brass, on a Dillon 550. I'm thinking maybe over chamfering? I use an RCBS chamfer tool attached to a drill.
  21. I've never used this stuff. I see where people use it as a bore cleaner? . Also any big differnce between pump or areosol?
  22. Anyone ever use these? (unique precision bullets) http://www.uniqueprecisionbullets.com/prices.htm
