  1. I'm looking through my manuals. it seems to hard to find data with 9mm 115gr. LRN and Win231. Seems they have one or the other. I have setteled on 9mm with lead round nose and Win.231 at a max of 4.5 This sound right?
  2. Must be me then. I thought it might be underpowered.
  3. Right handed, Just that distance, Standard three dot drift type on the XD, the Glocks have adjustable windage. Sorry no pics.
  4. i have been loading and shooting Zero 180JHP bullets. I'm new to loading the .40 I've been using 4.6 grains of Win 231. Now, shooting at a target of around 30' feet away, all my shots seem to be low, left of POA. This from a Glock 22,23 and two XD's No issuse with 9mm,.38 or .45 loads. Could it be the load itself. I didn't have factory ammo to test against. But I remember these guns being more accuarte.
  5. I have the exact samelight from Harbor Freight. Works great.
  6. Yes it is a 550B, I'm going to order an extra operating rod also.
  7. Got it. I wanted to post in case someone else has this problem, they can start here. I called Dillon support. The guy said my operating arm (the silver wire that moves the primer bar back) wasn't pushing it far enough. Bend the wire where the the first bend in it is. I did so and it worked.
  8. I was afraid of that. Thank you, I'l keep looking
  9. I searched but didn't find this problem in paticular. My small primer bar will not pick up primers. I have to stick my finger in and push on the part where the primer magazine meets the cup. Then a primer will feed to the cup.
  10. That is correct. I've been out of town. I checked my notes and I broke a decapping pin last year. So I did reset my dies at some point. I turned them down and they started working. I still need to fine tune but thank God for notes. Sorry all.
  11. I tried an empty case. Same thing. I check demensions with a manual. If anything some specs are under.
  12. Sorry, I've been busy with work and getting ready for a camping trip. I blackend a cartridge as suggested. There was a noticeable gouge on the sholder it also failed to chamber from the mag, so there were scratches on the bullet. Does this help?
  13. I'll try blacking the case and checking. The this is, I've shot a couple thousand of the soft points and never touched the dies. Cases were all trimmed to 1.750 and all pass the case cage. I've tried shorting the OAL from 2.250 to 2.220. Sometimes the first chamber, then when I cycle the second it will sometimes hang up from the mag and not chamber. When I do get it to chamber, it's h*** getting the charging handel back. Tried two mags. Pmag and steel
  14. A little follow up. I removed the upper and bolt. Dropped one in the chamber and inserted the bolt back in. The upper would not seat at the rear. Too long? But Ihave loaded other rounds to these specs.
  15. I have been shooting Hornady 55gr. soft points and shooting them with a OAL of 2.20 without issue. I have some Hornady 55gr FMJ. I loaded some dummy rounds to the cannalure 2.25 and the bolt goes forward into battery it sticks. I have to pull the charging handel like heck ro get it to eject. I use a case gauge and they all fit perfectly. The guns are a POF 415 and a S&W Mp-15. Any help would be appreciated.
  16. As far as I can tell S&W still markets the 9mm and .40S&W mo.99 with the Walther name. But I can't find anything on the .45model. It's like it never exsited.
  17. Springs I cant find anything about. I think this gun was a failed experiment or something. I don't understand the mag isuue. Can you explain?
  18. I have been shooting 200gr LRN for years.I load these to 1.250 with 5.4grns of Unique or 5.0grns of Win 231 and they shoot perfectly out of my 3 Kimbers and Springfeild. But.. my S&W99 is another issue about every 4th or 5th round stovepipes. Any ideas why?
  19. I was shooting some missouri 158gr LSWC this weekend. I'm using 4.0 gr of Win231 COL 1.459. Shooting out of a 2 1/4 Ruger, there seemed to be a lot of smoke. Gun? lube? powder? All of the above?
  20. Almost the same. I've been shooting Delta Precision 124gr with 4.3 of Win231, col 1.124 Nice accurate load.
  21. Wanted

    .223 issue

The soft points at 2.20 shoot fine. I've shot a couple K with them. I was afraid I might affect pressure.24.5 is middle of the road, Thanks for your help.
  22. I had been loading Hornady SP 55 grain bullets. I switched over to Hornady FMJ 55 grain. I noticed the FMJ bullets were seating just over the cannalure (the case mouth is just over) Both bullets came out at 2.20 OAL. I measured the FMJ bullets and they are a little longer than the soft points I've been using 24.5grns of H335 with the soft point bullets. Am I ok?
  23. Sorry I got kind of busy. I do sit, physical limitations keep me from standing for long loading sessions. I might try a stool. Thanks guys.
  24. I have been reading some about powder check dies like the Powder Cop. I load on a 550B. With pistol, there is no problem. I look in each case. Rifle like .223 is something else. You almost have to take each case out and look. ( At least I do) Even with a light it's nearly impossible to see in a bottle neck case on the shell plate. Is it just me? What does everyone else do?
