    AARP

Geez, I had no idea when I joined. I promise not to make any more new posts that attempt to add some levity. I have learned my lesson here.

    AARP

Guess I stirred up a hornet's nest here. Just trying to add a bit of fun to the forum. Sorry.

    AARP

I am 52 and joined AARP yesterday to take advantage of some travel discounts. It started me wondering...the next time I need to send Carmoney a gun for some action work will I get 10% off? Does the A zone on the USPSA target get 15% larger? Are all items in the classifieds automatically 10-15% off? Does the distance to the targets decrease? Just hopeful thinking.....
  4. I hear a lot of those Ms folks like revolvers!!

    Blade Tech

Thanks. I think I will loosen mine up a little bit more.
  6. My new Blade Tech holster for my 625 5 inch came and was awfully tight. I have loosened it some but wondered how loose you folks use yours. I know this is a hard question to phrase an answer to on a forum. It is hard to describe how something feels, but I thought I would give it a try before I add the loc-tite. Thanks
  7. Where did you get your Hearthco clips?
  8. Thanks Mike. I think these clips are like you say. Slightly off. The Smith and Wesson moon clips I have work beautifully. Thanks again for such a nice gun. Mike
  9. Thanks for the suggestion, good ones are already on the way. I just wondered if the others should just be trashed.
  10. I have a batch of moon clips I got from Ebay for my 625. They do not fit well. The cylinder will not close on some and when the cylinder closes on others is it very difficult to open. Can I do anything to these moon clips to make them work well or should I just chunk them? Thanks

    First match

    Good advice from everyone. Thanks.

    First match

    Thanks, I understand.

    First match

Thanks for all the replies. I have one quick question about the reloading process. When you are removing the spent cartridges do you tilt the barrel up so the empty moonclip drops in your hand? It seems like that would cause the barrel to point over the berm. Is that a problem?
  14. I am planning to go to my first USPSA match Saturday the 14th. One of the local members, Gregg, has been VERY helpful and has given me a lot of tips and good info. I just thought I would put this thread in and jog folks memories of their first revolver match. What did you do right? What would you do different? Any helpful hints? My primary objectives this time are to be safe and have fun. Thanks.

    STEELERS!

I am just a casual NFL fan with alliances to neither team, but that was fun to watch!!
  16. Thanks Revchuck. I have always wanted either a 686 or 586 and will probably go that way.
  17. I am thinking of finding a 4 inch 686 to shoot IDPA so I am watching this post with interest. Some pics as you go along would be appreciated. My other choice would be a 4 inch 625. (Probably best choice since I have gear for a 625 5 inch.

    WAY OT

If that is true, Mike, I hope she does not read your post here..
  19. Thanks everyone. I tumbled my first batch and it went well. Thanks again.

    WAY OT

Yea, I did not think it would even make minor, but it will be fun to shoot it up. I think I have the guns sold, but thanks for asking. Plinking time.... Mike

    WAY OT

I got interested in Cowboy Shooting a while back and bought a revolver and rifle in 357/38. It was fun practicing with the guns, but I could not bring myself to wear the outfits required to shoot. The cowboy guns are gonna go, but I wondered if the 38 special lead ammo was OK for a 686? The ammo is .38 Special 158 GR RNFP and .38 Special Cowboy Rifle 125GR FP. I normally shoot jacketed bullets and just wondered if I might have a problem with barrel leading. Thanks Mike
  22. I am one of those new folks to this forum and do not mind the change at all. Since I am just getting going my only interest in the classifieds is in finding items to buy. A shooter buddy told me about this forum and it has been a great source of information and resources. I have learned a lot, bought me some re-loading gear from Brian, and found me a Carmonized 625. It may take a while for me and some other posters to reach 50 posts. Most of my posts now are questions. I do not really post much to other folks questions since my knowledge in competitve shooting is so limited. Maybe that will change over time. I guess I need to branch out and try some of the threads that are for fun and not shooting related. Let me add that that the questions I have asked have been patiently and cordially answered. I do know how search and that has limited my posts some since I have found anwers without having to post questions that have been previously discussed. OK, enough rambling on here. Keep up the good work. Mike
  23. Thanks everyone for your help. I did a search and it seems the consensus is that it is not necessary to de-prime before cleaning the brass. Thanks
  24. I am just getting going in the re-loading process and have a couple thousand pieces of brass I would like to clean up. How long do I let the tumber run with a load? Is there anything I have to do about the spent primers? Should they be removed before I tumble the brass or is that removal part of the process later on? Sorry about the simple questions. I have a buddy who is going to help me get set up and going but he is gone for a few days and I wanted to get the brass ready to go. Thanks for the help. Mike
  25. Do you still accept payment in tubs of butter? I do not have any idea what that means, but, dang, if it is true I wish I had known earlier. I have already sent him my check!!
