  8. Ok, there have been some major changes to the 1st 3GN International Multi Gun. First, I would like to explain that we organized this match on behalf of the International Shooters, with them thinking they could fill it up just with shooters from abroad. That didn't happen. We are still going to have a great match, for several reasons. One, this is going to be a real 3 Gun Nation Points match, with all categories and divisions represented. The match will also be following 3 Gun Nation Rules. Second, this is a 10 Stage Gary Welborn designed match, just like the Pro Am, with the only change being that 4 of the stages will be 3 Gun Nation classifiers. Trust us, it's going to be a blast. There will be a small field for the match, more like a big club match, but on steroids. We are not really suggesting the Packages that we put together, as they involved Pre Match training, which we will not be doing. We were not going to do a prize table for the International match, simply because of the International contingent. We are now throwing a prize table together, combined with cash prizes depending solely on the turn out for the match. Spread the word as there is plenty of room left in the match. And like we said, it going to be a great time for all.
  9. Can't wait to see all of our fiends again soon at the BRM3G. Just a heads up, there are still plenty of rooms left at Rockcastle/ Park Mammoth Resort. The rooms are $81 for Single Occup, $99 for Double Occup. Just call the front desk and talk to Amy at (270) 749-4101. Again, can't wait to see all of you.
  10. I think we may have talked briefly during the prize table. I'm sure there are several different opinions on prize table distribution, and we do not claim to have the perfect answer, but we learned from the best. The prize table management is almost harder than running the rest of the match put together. The first break in your argument, is that most 3 gun prize tables are run in similar fashion, that is that they split between categories, most with 4, ours only has two. If it was a "grassroots" killer, than the open division would have been long gone from every match. I think what you may be missing is how the prizes are distributed between categories. Most prize tables, including ours, distribute the prize table on percentages. If there are 24 open shooters and 226 Tac Ops shooters, the Open makes up 9.6% of the field. Let's just call it 10% like we did. If there are 40 guns on the prize table for all of AM, 10% go to the open table. If there are 100 hats for all of AM, 10 hats go to the open table. Same goes for optics, mags, Tactical Bacon, etc. By percentage, the open shooters have just as good of a chance to get a gun as the Tac Ops shooters. What you see as punishment, can also be seen as fairness. Just as a hypothetical, if it more or less fair that a last place Open shooter that didn't hit any targets, gets the same percentage chance to win a gun as the Tac Ops shooter that beat 80% of his peers with a #180 finish, 44 places out of first? There are other ways to look at it as well. The shooter bags represented a retail value almost equal to the AM entry fee, and then the 24th picked open shooter got some great sponsor provided product. Or then there's always the ability to just shoot the Pro Side, and let the brass fall where it may. It's broken down on the same type of percentage, but then it also matters how well you finished. We try to make it a great experience for all, and we are more than willing to hear any suggestions.
  11. Ok. If I just heard correctly, there is going to be a Tactical Night Vision Company PVS-14 Night Vision Monocular in the Cave Shoot side match................................and on the Prize Table. Now that's awesome, one of the coolest Prize Table options I've seen yet. We also just got 10 rifles from Adams Arms, of which 3 are 14.5" guns, sweet. And wait till you all see these Cross Machine Tool matched upper/lowers with the AR15.COM Rockcastle Pro Am 3 Gun Championship laser engraved on the side of the receiver, also too cool! I just got a shipment notification of 12 pallets being delivered from the NRA just for the shooter bags. This thing is gonna be crazy!
  12. I hate to break up such vibrant conversation about the match, but the Stages should be posted at rock3gun.com by the end of the day. By the way, we always post stages within a 30 day window of the match, but usually not before. The AR15.COM Rockcastle Pro Am 3 Gun Championship is shaping up to be another epic 3 gun match at "The Rock." Nearly every single match sponsor has signed up to support the match again in full force. Many new companies have also joined the fun, like Mod 1 Firearms, Black Rain Ordinance, Rubber City Armory, Voodoo Tactical, Black Dove Customs, Adams Arms, Pacific Tool and Gauge, Seekins Precision, Vertx, Oakley, The Shooter's Source, and Sig Sauer, just to name a few. Look for cool side matches with great chances to win some great 3 gun gear from Tactical Night Vision Company and AAC, Bushnell, Bud's Gun Shop, and JP Rifles and Hear-Pro, with more to come. It's gonna be fantastic! Can't wait to see all of our friends again.
  13. Ok. After much debate by within the staff, we will be offering shooters the ability to shoot Tac Optics, Open, Tac Iron, or Heavy Metal. Chad said the Pro Am points will be a "GO." However, due to sponsors providing guns for some of the International Competitors, those using Provided Guns will only be able to shoot Tac Optics or Open. The 3 Gun Nation Qualifiers will also be set up and available. I have contacted the ATF to clear International Competitors and those under 21 for using the guns provided by sponsors. They are all good according to our gun laws, so no problems there. Also, ammunition is looking good, thanks to DRT (Defense Research Technologies), and Brownells, we are going to have plenty of ammo. The ammo we will have available is .223, 9mm, and .12GA, orders for all other pistol ammo can be fielded through Gamaliel Shooting Supply, details to come on that. All ammo needs will be fielded through me, Nate Noble, at nbnoble@bellsouth.net The field of competitors is looking good, and there is plenty of room left in the match, so lets get this thing cranked up and throw some lead down range. Anyone with questions can also email me directly at nbnoble@bellsouth.net Some good sponsors coming on for this match, including SUREFIRE, some competition guns provided by Black Rain Ordinance, and AP Industries, just to name a few. Many more to come.
  14. I will double check with Chad Adams and Gary Welborn. I will get back to all on this issue ASAP.
  15. It has been very difficult separating divisions to "what will work" when a large majority of the shooters are borrowing guns that are supplied by sponsors. We are talking 30 each, rifles, pistols, and shotguns. I do not believe this match changes or qualifies for an actual "points series" match. 3 Gun Nation is a major sponsor, and will be covering it for webisodes. Other than that, their will be no point earning for shooters that are participating.
  16. Gamaliel Shooting Supply will again be the official ammunition and equipment supplier for the 2013 Pan American Shotgun Championship and the 2013 Pan American 3 Gun Challenge. All ammunition and other equipment can be pre-ordered from Gamaliel by contacting Grayson Pare at (270) 457-2825 or at Grayson.Pare@gamaliel.com . There will also be a selection of ammunition available at the competition site through Gamaliel from Rio, Federal, and Remington.
  17. All of the match info is becoming available on a daily basis on the website, which can also be reached by visiting www.parkmammothresort.us and then clicking to enter the Rockcastle Shooting Center Website. Please fell free to contact either Nathan Noble at nbnoble@bellsouth.net or Match Director Gary Welborn at GWelborn@bellsouth.net for further questions. If you are having any trouble getting answers on any part of the match. We can also be reached by mobile phone at (270) 792-3196.
  18. A limited number of shell carriers mag holders for different guns, and holsters will be available on the stages, due to the variety of sponsor provided guns that will be on each stage, that the Supplied Gun Division will be using. The primary equipment you have to bring are the inner and outer belts.......................At this point in time, ammo availability is improving, and plans have been made so that match ammo is available for purchase on site, and with the Competition Packages.
  19. We apologize for the hold up on getting all of this information out to the shooters. Being the first International Multi Gun Match, there are several factors that we are learning as we go through the process. Here are some updates. First, registration is open to all shooters. Originally we intended to have separate registration dates for U.S. and International competitors, but in the end it was not feasible to do so. This is not a "sit by the computer to register" kind of match due to the hardships of International travel. Therefore, just fill out and print the form, mail it to the address listed, scan and email it, or fax it in. Those mailing can send entry fee with the form. For those who are faxing or emailing, we need your entry fee within 10 days of the receipt of your form at Rockcastle Shooting Center.........................................The Professional Division ifs for those who will be using their own guns for the competition. Please Select either Tactical Optics or Open Divisions. Most of you know what these are, but they are more clearly defined in the rules which will be posted very soon at www.rockcastleshootingcenter.com ..............Supplied Gun Division basically means you are going to be competing with guns that are supplied by sponsors. All of these guns are generally guns that would conform with the Tactical Optics Division.
  20. To all who have been patiently waiting for information on the 2013 IPSC Pan American Shotgun Championship, here we go. On the week of June 25-30, 2013 the 2013 IPSC Pan AMerican Shotgun Championship will be held at the Rockcastle Shooting Center in Park City, Kentucky. We are very proud to be hosting this match, an honored to have it for the second time in a row. This is a Level 4 IPSC Shotgun match, that falls under IPSC rules. There are still being determinations made on the US Team to compete in the Pan American. There is only one US Team, but all US shooters are welcome. Interantional shooters will find information on Invitation Request and travel forms at the website listed below. Plan on having arounf 180 shotters, maybe more maybe less. Pre Match will be 6/25-6/26, and Main Match will be 6/27-6/30. The match management will be the same as the last Pan American at "The Rock." Linda Chico will be the Match Director and Coordinator, and can be reached at LChico@msn.com for any questions. Our good friend Larry Houck from FNH will again be the Range Master. The most important information here will be the directions the the match website where all inforation for the match is coming on line. There you will find all match information, Match Invitation Request Forms, US Form 6NIA, IPSC Rules, and of course pertinent dates. The match is slated for 24 stages of tacical shotgun shooting on natural terrain, and in improved shooting bays. 12 Satges will be 6-8 rounds, 8 stages less than 16 rounds, and 4 stages in the 28-32 round range, with a mixture of birdshot, slug, and buck. Don't forget to conatct the lodge for reservations, rooms are going fast (270) 749-4101. Also very important, the following weeknd Rockcastle will be hosting the 2013 Rockcastle International 3 Gun Challenge. The dates are July 5, 2013 through July 7, 2013. Sponsored firearms will be provided to those who cannot bring them. Ammo will be available by pre-order. The 2013 Rockcstle International 3 Gun Challenge can also be found at www.rockcastleshootingcenter.com, then click the Competitions button, and then select the match. 24. Time to stir the pot a little bit! Match set-up is getting exciting up here at "The Rock." Stages are going in, the weather outlook is good. Can't wait to see all of you back again. It's going to be another EPIC match. First, there will be side matches from Bushmaster/ Remington (someone will win a Versa Max Tactical), CMMG, Nightforce, Alexander Arms (who doesn't want to shoot a side match with a Beowulf), Red Jacket Firearms, and yes a very cool cave stage with our friends from Tactical Night Vision Company. Now for some sponsor updates. We would like to welcome a great list of new sponsors for the Pro Am: Glock.............yes, I did say Glock, Trijicon, Stag Arms, Red Jacket Firearms, DSG Arms, Glock Triggers, TACCOM, All Star Tactical, Beaver Lube, Horus Vision, Westone Hearing Proctection, Freedom Munitions, HEAR-PRO, Gun For Hire, Mossberg, AR15 Targets, Gordon Cooper, Diamondback Firearms, Predator Tactical, Para USA, Double Star, and Bud's Gun Shop. Let me start with, Wow, that's a lot of guns, especially when you think about the gun sponsors from last year, are still in. And now for Bud's Gun Shop. I wanted to start a new trend by putting a gun safe on the prize table. Well, next to the table. The fine folks at Bud's Gun Shop upped the ante. There will be a 40 Gun Iron Mountain Safe on the Pro Table, and a 14 Gun Iron Mountain Safe on the Am prize table, that will be shipped via UPS to the home of the winner, compliments of Bud's Gun Shop. Like we said, the match is looking gooooooood! I hope that helps add to the pre-match excitement, as if I need to. Just wanted to give you a glimpse of what I've been doing up here on the hill since January. Well that and hosting some other great matches. Wait till you all see whats coming! Well wishes, and safe travels, see you in a week! Nate Noble, Rockcastle Shooting Center
