  1. The ones I am talking about are 1911's and I think they were built on a STI widebody frame, but they are fixed up kind of like Grant's or Helen's guns, but I'm pretty sure they are from the Aussie team. Good News I now know who built the guns. Here is a pic of Lee shooting the gun you are talking about. This one I think has been bilt by Ray as well and is being shot by Graig They are being built by Ray Pulver, he makes those shrouds and the bushing is fixed to the frame of the gun. I am sure they are a 6"frame with a 5"slide or maybe a 6"slide cut back. Best off contacting Ray for more information, his email is :- rpholland@optusnet.com.au. Ray is also manufacturing barrels, they are HPB or Holland Precision Barrels.
  2. Hey Mate Do you remember what the shooter looks like and was he on the Aussie team and which one that way I should be able to find out were the shroud was made.
  3. Sorry to but in but can a 9x23 shell be used in a 38 super gun, I am shooting super comp at the moment and I use lead 122fp and I am acheiving a group of 1.25 - 1.5" at 50 yards. It is a lot cheaper for me to use lead over jacketed.
  4. Thats the same way I have set up mine as well.
  5. That what we all like to see a fellow shooter heloing out others. Bruce has be very helpful to me when I have asked him about a few things. I would also like to say thanks.

  14. I was reading the rules from 10th Jan 2008 that were down loaded from the web and I am sure it said the following 3.2 Metallic Sight Firearm - Minimum caliber is 9 x 19mm (9mm): a semi-automatic firearm with no more than a 6 1/4-inch barrel length. The front sight not to extend past the front of the slide and the rear sight not past the rear of the slide by a 1/4-inch. But after I had another look on the NRA Website, it just says that for the revise 2009 rules it is in out favour : ( I then found the Hard copy of the 2008 rules and it said the same below. I was telling some ppl that they could not have the sight past the slide so they can not change there setup.) 3.2 Metallic Sight Firearm - Minimum caliber is 9 x 19mm (9mm): a semi-automatic firearm with no more than a 6 1/4-inch barrel length. The front sight not to extend beyond the muzzle, the maximum sight radius to be no more than 8.5 inches. Which means I can get my metallic sight gun modded to allow the block on the front too.
  15. Yahoo.......We might get them on the guns by the cup yet............ Let us all know how they go.
  16. Check my other tread I made the 1920 with 159x. I just need to continue to shoot clean.
  17. They look really great. I LIke the anodised finish. I am getting my Magwells anodised form both my metallic and open guns, I will wait until after this season is over to get the shroud done as well.
  18. Nah Mate The way the Aussie dolllar is to the us dollar I can not make it this year. I was really looking forward to heading over to shoot the cup again. I will have to wait till next year. I know it will not be the same as this year being the 30th anniversary and all. BUt there is not to much I can do about it. Best of luck to you all and hope you all have a great time. Brett
  19. I finially shot my First ever 1920 this weekend at the Australia Day Shoot held at the Gold Coast in Queensland. It has taken me since 1997 to today to hit he magic 1920. I shot it with my Auto that I not long got rebuilt. The best I shot with the revolver was a 1916 and I usually averaged 1910 with the revolver. I am wrapped that I managed to get 1920 with 159X's. How long did it take some of you to get the magic 1920??
  20. Thanks Guys keep me informed as I will not be able to make it to the cup this year. It would be nice if it was at the end of August as I could then also shoot the Archery wrold titles in Germany as well.
  21. I know it is a bit early to ask but I am just wondering if anyone knows were and roughly what time the World NRA Action Titles will be.
  22. Here is another shot of my BC Gun to show you how low the scope is to the barrel. The sides are not scratched it is just hte lighting.
  23. I know I am happy with the one Mat has made me, the best feature is that the mover base only has the weaver rail on top of the shroud and not a seperat mount, That allows my scope to sit closer to the line of the barrel, then if I had the likes of a Stick shift or similar type of mover base screwed on, but the Shrouds that Ray makes that have the bushing lock up in the as well are a lot smaller then mine easier to get the fingers round on the barricade if you have small hands. It all comes down to the money you want to spend, the look and the feel when they are on the barricade, and who will supply you what you want when you want.
  24. Just an update, I have been using the gun now for about 4 weeks and I have been averaging a 1918 on the home range. A lot better then I did with a revolver. I will just have to wait and see how I will go in my first comp next year on a different range. I am looking forward to hitting a few good score next year. I have dropped a 8 on either the Barricade or mover.
  25. That's true, I know how long it took Mat to make the one I am using on my Bianchi Gun now.
