I called Mec-Gar USA and got the part number for the new 9mm mags. Part - MGWIT9SFAFC UPC - 765595750005 'Available in March' is what I was told.

Do you have the Mec Gar 9mm part number?

Watching this thread with my fingers crossed. I love my Elite Matches but not the mags. Hopefully they will have a new part number so they do not get confused with any older style mags.

OK, here is more info: New EAA / Tanfoglio 22LR made in Italy conversion kit that will fit any caliber large frame EAA Witness pistols, 9mm, 10mm, 40S&W, 45ACP and 38 super. Has threaded 1/2"x28 muzzle for sound suppressor use and comes with a knurled thread protector. Complete kit with threaded barrel, slide assembly (black), recoil spring, guide rod, cleaning brush, instructions and 10 round magazine in plastic case.

I was googling for a 22 lr conversion and found a listing for a kit with a threaded barrel. Does anyone know if this is the new standard for EAA?

I am also interested in 9x23 win. I was thinking of trying 38 super barrel in a 9mm upper and 38 super mags. I may need to change out the spring but I am not sure yet.

The plastic is adhesive backed UHMW. The same stuff cutting boards are made of. So far it Seems strong enough.

I have a couple of Mec-Gar MGGT21-16 small frame 9mm mags that are turning in to project mags. So far I added a piece of UHMW POLYETHYLENE STRIP to the back of the mags. This seems to work pretty good, but the mags are a bit too thin. So I have ordered some .050 UHMW to add to the side opposite the mag catch. I will not have the second piece till Monday. I will update then with pictures.

I have a few 38super mags I bought to try something different after fighting the standard 9mm mags. My guess is a 16 lbs Wolf recoil spring would be a good place to start. The new mags sound very promising for 9mm Para in the Match.

I have a elite Match in 9mm and I would like to convert it to 9x23 Win. Is the down and dirty way just to swap in a 38 super barrel and stronger springs? Also on this line I remember reading that Aftermarket barrels were in the works, is there any updates on these? thanks.

This is the info from the GB auction that started this line of thought: EAA WITNESS CUSTOM 7.62X25 TOKAREV BARREL HERE IS A CUSTOM BARREL I HAD MADE FOR AN EAA WITNESS IN 7.62X25 TOKAREV. IT IS PRETTY COOL TO HAVE A MODERN HI CAP PISTOL IN TORAKEV - SHOULD FIT ALL WITNESS FULL SIZE MODELS,BUT YOU WILL NEED A .38 SUPER UPPER & MAGS. the gunsmith made this turning down a new Tokarev barrel into a sleeve he then bored a new EAA barrel to match and pressed them together. he made a step in the chamber area, press fit and then pinned them so there is zero chance the sleeve will ever come out. between the 2 barrels and the smith it cost well over $200 THE TOK ROUNDS ARE ABOUT .030 TOO LONG FOR THE .38 SUPER MAGS- you can either press the bullets a little deeper into the cases or shave the tips off the bullets making flat points or even hollow points I emailed the seller and he said the barrel worked fine except for having to set back the bullet in each round. It looks like handloads are the only realistic way to make this work. Why are there no modern hi-cap pistol in 7.62x25 TOK????

Its probably possible once Henning gets his barrels going. But I havent seen one listed for that caliber. I assume you want it because of its velocity? if you look at the super with lite bullets its a mover too. leo Velocity is part of the game, but surplus ammo running about 10 cents a round is very seductive. I think a handload with a bit shorter OAL would work well. I found an old GB auction for a TOK witness conversion barrel. So it is possible but the real question would be can it be made to work with on modified surplus ammo.

Is a 7.62x25 Tokarev conversion even possible for the Witness? I know the TOK is about 1.5mm longer than even the 38 super but is there enough room in the the mag for them? With the large amount of cheap surplus ammo this could be a very reasonable shooter.

I have assumed that this is the 'insert' 9mm mags. Sorry for the poor pics. I have not seen these magazines. Are these the new improved 9MM Magazines Henning talked about? I bought them through Reed's last year. I do not know if these are 'improved'.

I have a 45 acp Elite Match and would love a 10mm caliber conversion for it. Does EAA sell a 'Match' caliber conversion or will a 'standard' kit work with the Elite Match? I really do not need another complete pistol, so I hope these are available. Thanks.
