Basically the dates for the IRC were set 6 months ago, well before they were released. Everything was going as planned but Smith & Wesson asked ICORE to change the dates because the Team Challenge match that they are also involved in was set in stone for the same weekend.
Because Jerry M would be at the Team Challenge and since he has been the top shooter at all but the first IRCs Smith wanted him to be able to compete at both matches.
In consideration of changing the dates Smith & Wesson has added to the prize table. They also have set up guarenteed TV coverage that will help support ICORE and the IRC in the future.
Hotels are very expensive that week in San Luis Obispo because it's the same weekend as Pepperdine's graduation.
I hope people can get around the date change and make it to the IRC. I've been told the prize table will be extraordinary. With Mike and Kim Ballard in charge it should be a fantastic match.
If you can't find a room, or if like me finances are a bit restricted, there is camping available at the range for $10 a night.
