Dang i already bought 2 plus mags they drop fine..... maybe find different base pads for them......
ouch! those base pads ain't cheap almost as much as mag itself.......
do any if the rubber pads on greg cote's site come in production legal?

http://www.shootingsportsinnovations.com/CZ-SCALES-RED-CZRED001.htm
ive shot stock, and some un-marked thin grips
these came up in classified and i finally bought some
these are my favorite !!!!
they are not cutting or un-comfortable as some reviews
i have big hands size 8 gloves
i do get slight discomfort on my right hand third and fourth finger, they wrap around to left side of grip from pressure from left hand
I wouldn't necessarily call it discomfort but it is immediate input as to quality of grip, a check that the other grips did not afford
I do feel these definitely improved my grip..... we'll see if improvement also shows down range
now i wont have to worry about cutting skateboard deck material, or texturing grips
only caveat is my cz may be out of spec. i had to re-profile/re- slot the grip to get screw 90 degrees cheap round file, magnifier and 10 minutes of work. Thank god i did not strip my frame out!! i'd suggest anyone else buying these to approach installation with caution, follow mfgr directions.
I should have bought these months ago!!!

what is legal magazine for SP-01 (tactical) in production division
i've read the official rules, but that doesn't help me..... yet
and if possible what base pads plus magazine will keep me inside "the box"
i'm planning on shooting club match/s in the near future
i need a more magazines to complete kit, prior
i want to make sure i don't buy the wrong parts
i'm planning on buying from greg cote so adding a link/s would be super helpful ( http://gregcotellc.com/cart/cz-mecgar-magazines-base-pads-c-130/)
I've received mixed advice from local indoor range gurus.... none who shoot USPSA/IPSCC thought I'd ask here...... a source I trust more

I would suggest an adjustable gas block rather than gas key if you really want adjustable gas. In my experience the only time an adjustable key is warranted is if you have, for example, an A2 FSB that you don't want to remove. Otherwise it is much cleaner to have the extra gas/ carbon exit out the front of the barrel instead of into your receiver.
Uncle Sam when was younger had me shooting without Abjustable block... All those excess gasses exited receiver along with millions of others without adjustable block.... Still shooting that way....
Other than cleaner..... ( I don't mind cleaning on ocassion) ( and I discovered the wonders of chlorine fre brake cleaner)
Do you think there is much a difference in function.
I'm happy with block.... I just bought new barrel with pinned gas block thought I'd try something different

I'm gathering parts for next build. a gamer rifle.
I have long (ish) arms and have never used but stock collapsed
have carbine legnth and am quite pleased ( tacc com buffer and gas block)
I'm thinking of using rifle length buffer on fixed stock on next build
planning on adjustable gas key, tac com rifle buffer
how does carbine length compare to rifle length in performance?
-
Maybe there is a better spot for this, but what is the advantage of an unweighted system vs one with weights? or vise versa?
reciprocating weight....
the theory is ...short version: as the bolt and buffer move backwards and forwards .... this moving weight will have effect on "perceived recoil" and also forward movement of rife no so much the movement but the deceleration or stopping......
decrease this weight decrease movement
see newtons first law and second law
the amount of force is decreased by decreasing weight and speed, force = mass x acceleration (newtons second law)
so by limiting the weight of moving parts and speed of moving parts... less energy is transferred in decelerating moving bolt /buffer mass, which equals less rifle movement... less mass less acceleration less force
in our case most of the acceleration adjustment is via the adjustable gas block or gas key.

I just started using tac com buffers, with syrac adj gas block.
I haven't weighed mine but that you tube video states 1.2 ounce. (See above posts) Of the 2 pieces one has a added foam bumper. Weight difference should be negligible. The moving piece should be slightly lighter.
So as far as light weight buffer systems. I think it is the lightest available, and the least expensive. Approx $25
-
IMHO Yes But you have to tune gas block so it functions with given ammo. Tac com 2 part buffer weighs approx 1.2 ounces and approx only 1/2 of that is moving/ reciprocating movement. Caution I'm new with system but I have stayed at holiday inn
Isint the whole concept here is to cut down on reciprocating/ moving mass to minimize muzzle flip and/0r perceived recoil.
I'm also of the school of thought the more tight or precision you make something (rifle). The more failure prone it becomes. In this case I used to run my rifle on the dryish side, dirtyish side. With the less forward mass chamerbering round ( currently light weight buffer) I have had some failure to return to battery/FTRB. I'm now running it wet (IMHO) and clean (ER) and have no FTRB in last 100 or so rounds. Mind you every round was case gauged.
For the sake of toys ( I like toys) I'm interested in getting a light weight BCG. To further see Imprvovement muzzle flip/ perceived recoil. It's already easy to see the holes get punched in paper.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say while this whole low reciprocating mass thing does help. I'd say 95% ish responsibility of controlling muzzle flip/ perceived recoil is a good muzzle brake, good shooting position/training and, barrel weight. I'm also in the opinion that prolly only the those in the top 10 percentile or less, Will actually benefit score wise. By decreasing buffer and BCG mass. ( remember I'm no pro, but I have stayed at holiday inn)

Insult away.
I only installed one.... Crap !!!
Running wet and installed properly next time at range...
BIG THANKS!
What are you running now?
-
2.8gr of titegroup.....
I'm running the same. out of CZ but i'd plunk test for coal
(off topic i prefer the 147 flat)
-
M4gery/carbine length buffer system
Milspec bolt (standard weight)
Spikes t-2 buffer
White oak 1/7 barrel
Taccom buffer (yellow older version)
55 gr over 24.3 gr xbr
lake city brass
all passed Dillon case gauge
all measured COAL
I recently changed to syrac adjustable gas block and Holland like brake. Amazing how 2 changes created a very flat shooting weapon. Along with syrac purchase (from here) came 2 carbine length taccom buffers. I’ve been super skeptical using a what looks like a sharpie pen cap as a buffer. Taccom says it should function with standard BCG.
I finally installed and tested it today and retuned gas block.
I did feel a slight improvement from spikes t-2 buffer to taccom buffer. Did not run timer, I was primarily testing function.
I had 4 failure to return to battery/ FTRB!!!! In approx. 35rounds. Light tap on the charging handle (first times I ever needed to) round chambered and fired fine. (the SPORTS reflex did kick in)
Switched back to spike t-2 buffer. No failures in last 15 rounds
Only other detail is that I I’ve been running it on the dry side.
Ok im planning on more testing. With taccom buffer and on the “moist” side.
? any one have issues with similar set up?
?anyone getting decent reliability?

unsure of velocity or PF
147 flat point blue bullet 3.4 grains tite group was my sweet spot
out of cz spo1
-
I used to have same issue, But after some wear in, and a bit of polishing and lubrication no issues
Is it the same mag that hangs up?

Can't wait ......

im going to order some dillon dies tonight.
does everyone use fcd? or other crimp die?
i haven't with .223 and am questioning necessity with properly prepped components
-
For my Shadow, I load those to 1.12. At that length, there are about 10 head stamps that don't case gauge. Their case walls thicken nearer the case mouth. CBC and Aguila are the most common problem brass types. I segregate them and use them with other bullets.
Blue Bullets are a wonderful value. They aren't keeping up with their competitors on the latest trends in bullet profiles. I'd like to see 125 and 147 flat point bullets without lube grooves
+1 what he said........
My favorite Blue bullet is the 147 flat point !!!!! .... as soon as i finish what i have now..... its the blue 147 FP for the duration...... unless they make finally make no lube groove. (why they don't make one already ????)
i had similar issues culling brass did help, luckily only had a small batch of 147 RN (and yes cbc and aguilla were the culprits)
blue 147 flat points, longer seating, no culling!!!!

I like Dillon for pistol, but for rifle I stick with Forster.
For what you are loading I would get the set with the bench rest seater die. Its got the same really nice base die with sliding sleeve as the Ultra, but without the micrometer top. If you arent playing with loads all the time and trying to REALLY fine tune every last iota of accuracy out of a load, no reason to mess with the micrometer top on the ultra dies. I feel the dies are easier to setup too. Screw the die down until the sleeve is compressed 50%, then your actual bullet seating depth is controlled by the stem in the middle of the die. So you dont have to lock and unlock the die lock ring to adjust seating depth.
Are you using crimp die in 4Th position?
-
So I've recently started reloading .223 for semiauto. On a 550.
Currently using Lee dies ( it's what I had)
I set up 9mm with Lee dies and feel the reloads are more consistient / better than Lee dies on Lee press
? Are you using Dillon dies exclusively for .223?
If your not using .223 dies exclusively. What are you using? And why?
are any of you messing with neck tension? What dies/ or modifications are you using?
I'm shooting out of a white oak barrel. 18". 1/7. And loading 75 gr hpbt. With XBR. Of less importance 55 gr. for close up / steel. Haven't fine tuned a load yet.
I used to shoot and reload for precision .308 (and still own an arbor press)
I'd like stay sub MOA if not better. (Without becoming a bench rest freak)

once i went lake city ill never go back....
but if you're shooting bolt action and trying for those tiny groups then lapua

So far I have lower, upper, lpk, bolt carrier, grip. I have optics from another rifle.
So I need advice on barrel and furniture, butt stock, tube etc.
I'd like to buy barrel and hand guard next.....
I have a white oak on another stick.... Not sure I want to spend $$$ on bbl, yet...
What suggestions do you have for barrel, barrel length profile, gas length. and low frill hand guard??

graduated from captain of crush Weak hand, trainer (100#) to 1 (140#) and singles on 1.5 (167) leaving the 2 (195) in the package for now.
i still think big dead lifts, farmers carry, and pinch grip lifts, anything thick grip are king..... but i can carry those in my work bag.
found out i really suck at partials adding scaled partial targets to the regular mix.......
also found out i shoot way better with warm up, i need to figure out train cold......

I do wish the CoC didn't hurt my fingers and skin so much. It's more a test of pain tolerance than muscle sometimes.
I started out with #1 and at first wasn't sure if that thing was to toughen up your hands or improve your grip...
I put one strip of masking tape on the grip that my fingers contacted and left it on for about a week or two. Now it's fine without anything on the grips.
trainer had my hands a bit sore at first , but now i don't feel them at all, nor do my hands feel like coarse sandpaper, i have 1 1.5 and 2 en route, ill get back to you when i step up.....
-
took a bit of an internet sabbatical
this is a good thread !!! (most of it)
i need to go back and re read earlier posts
im a big fan of COC. didn't know bout zenith grips!!
i'm graduating from trainer going to order 1, 1.5 and 2 set. i like the idea of zenith no more raw hands. but am worried they maybe too slick????
any one use both in the 1 to 1.5 range?
most have stronger dominant hand. and since starting training grip..... although stronger over all dominant hand is still stronger
what are your thoughts on training weak more, increasing weak hand strength more than dominant???
shooters inovation scales grip

turns out user here i bought them from no issues mounting
but looking at it with loupe...tight fit for him also fron the wear in hole.
im thinking my cz may be a few mics off ( maybe they guy drilling and tapping was a bit hungover on czech beer)
i'm glad i read the directions on web site other wise i would be crying about stripped frame
$85 and shipping.... i know that's why i've been waiting for one to show up on classifieds to try theese... i didn't want to be that guy with red grips..... but for $60 i'm that guy
its a tiny straight screw stainless, i'd prefer allen. im going to try and find a replacement at hardware store....
