  1. Tony.... Missed the. TTI. I stand corrected ..... Do you run the 40 plus 5. Because the courses of fire work out that way..... A 45 round mag is HEAVY!!

Do all metal mags allow longer COAL. Or just the acs mags? I'm working up some 77's now......

  2. im testing some troy battle mags.. so far no issues

p mag 30 round gen 2...... no issues

still a big fan for gi mags/clone !!!! (i want more)

i have a few 20 thermold 20 round.... with very light usage... lips spread.... these are crap!!!!!

  3. I played with a LMBCG and could never get it to run reliably. I am using a standard bolt with adjustable gas on a lightweight rifle with a comp of course, and it is a pussycat. I actually retired the LMBCG to a suppressed 300 blk upper and that gun has never run so well. Go figure.

    Were you getting failures?

    What kind of failures?

  4. I like idea side charging, I be never used one.

But I'd like to see closeup of upper.

Your going to want to change the bird cage

Personally I would build an upper. Start with a decent barrel. You can even get MOA guarantee these days.

I just built one and my upper at approx same cost including decent brake. With better performance overall. And customized to my preferences.

If you look for sales and free shipping. I'd bet you could come in under $500

  5. The carbine system, unlike the rifle system uses all the available space on the buffer for the spring so we couldn't make the ALW for that. About the only thing you could do, and I'm not ever going to recommend it (meaning that you are on your own), is to take the 10% reduce carbine spring and start clipping coils. You'd probably end up buying 2 springs as the first one will be clipped too far.

    Tim

I'll take that as "not advice".

    thanks for the info!!!!

  6. Thanks Tim. ( who IS taccom)

I bought and properly tuned rifle legnth system. For minimum energy to strip round from loaded mag, and lock bolt forward....

I have 2 rifles 1 carbine, one rifle legnth. Both with adjustable gas, both with appropriate taccom buffer system. Both tuned per directions.

My question is is there a similar system, with light weight buffer spring and aluminum spacers. Made for cabine legnth? I would like to tune the forward movement of BCG on carbine legnth like I did with rifle legnth.....???

I really appreciate being able to consult the expert/ company owner/ representative !!!!

  7. I have both the rifle legnth and carbine legnth tac com system.

I just completed rifle legnth build.

I'm getting stellar performance from carbine system.

It's the rifle legnth adjustments that got me thinking is there room for improvment on carbine legnth.

  8. I'm concerned with the tuning if forward motion of bolt. Via lighter weight spring , clipping spring and spacers.

I can't find much chatter about this on the net and or local range.

Tac com Has their rifle legnth system ... Basically lightweight springs with spacers to increase for minimal energy to strip round and lock bolt forward

Any one else tune similar to this for carbine legnth?

    What did you do?

How are you spacing/ shimming buffer spring?

Are you trimming stock spring? Vs buying lightweight spring?

Anyone tune the the taccom carbine system for forward inertia?

  9. I think the answer to this is ........... Tite group. When querying championship matches...

    But YMMV........

You'll get a lot of different answers.

For me I liked bullseye but it was hard to get.... Now I'm using tite group.

I think the better answer is customizing.........what can you get? And what loads best for your pills, pistol, and power factor, not to mention adding in human factor, and how you load.

  10. ok

here is my hypothesis ( wild guesses) : A. bad upper and or install A. bad ammo

can you mount barrel in another upper? have some one not husband mount bbl, slowly work up to torque spec.

test with a better bolt. shoot without comp at first (its going to buck harder) if you can get a decent group then put it back on....... try locktite method to time vs. crush or shim

shoot match grade ammo ... call bbl mfgr and see what they suggest most match grade ammo should get you close to 2 moa. if not better. sierra match king gold medal match 168 was my go to google is your friend here

take a minute or two between shots with bolt back. basically single load. let cool for longer every 10- 15 or so shots

i'd also stay away from 25x for now 15x max @100 then @200

try and borrow a chrono this will give us a ton of info!!!!!

have fresh eyes look at and shoot it.

loose primers can give you give you a great deal of velocity changes....and decrease in consistency!!!!!

get a a scope level.... gave me a break through shooting .308 bolt....

  11. Yeah I hear you. I chatted with peeps that make it. They said it would put extra metal where other won't need it. Personally I think and extra mm or 2 Wouldn't be a problem in design or weight Like mine also one side needed a considerable ammount taken off. Maybe if enough people place feed back they will add some material to that area. Another thought was Adjust bit of profile where grip fits in frame but that's a whole lot more engineering involved.

Thing is some people guns it's a direct fit. I think some had too much Czech beer the night before drilling and taping mine...... That or a jig at factory is a bit off.

I get some pressure on 3,4 finger tips but I like the input in addition to improvment of overall grip.

I really like the way they feel. And they are now rock solid mounted with out o ring.

Let me know if u need any more Help on reprofiling

  12. I used a round needle file on the grip holes, from harbor freight .For 1,0 grip. Work slow check and refit often . I did it hand held. Took about ten minutes. But I was very conservative. In my filing I used a headband loupe to see and check what I was doing. On 1.0. There isn't a lot of room approx 1mm to over cut, hence no power tools. The previous owner of grips was direct bolt on hi cz .... Mine not so... I believe the cz grip to be slightly out of spec. And scales are no play at grip holes

Fit the screws by hand without grips to get the feel for 90 degree angle.... Then screw down gently to clean threads... make sure yourself profiling cuts on grips are big enough the fit screws. I don't think there is a hardware store equivalent for screw size

On a scale of 1-10 in difficulty I'd give it 3

  13. Are you mounting / installing Barrel yourself?

What kind of MOA? Are you getting? How many shot group? How fast are you shooting?

Does your cold bore zero differ than warm bore zero?

Is first shot better than following shots?

Have you tried testing @ 200 yards?

What powder/pill combo are you using? What is current load data?

    Have you chrono'd ?

    Prone or from bench?

Have you shot any .308 bolt or semi with any accuracy?

Have you shot it on a sled?

What twist rate? How many shots down tube? How often do you clean barrel?

    Any damage to crown?

What equipment are you loading with? What is your brass prep?

What kind of load testing have you done?

What scope? What power? Scope level?

Have you shot a rifle that is Proven and tuned?

Are you using bunny ear bag, mono pod, rice bag for elevation?

Are you shooting off bipod or bags?

So far you're telling us you have a questionable bolt, brass/ ammo, and possibly barrel, and possibly technique issues..... That's alt of mechanical variables there.... Without factoring user error/ technique?

I hate to answer question with more questions. But need more info?

And above questions include technique related queries?

I personally think you at minimum Need to run a optimum charge weight and or ladder test, with quality brass /pill/ powder..... Made with impeccable technique, and components.

  14. ill keep my eye out for blems....

thing is at what point is loading too tight.... maybe even undersized.. over working brass... etc etc.. to the point of diminishing return???

it doesn't sound like anyone here is using one.....

i can appreciate 100% reliability.. im pretty much there with dillon gauge, and barrel gauge.

ive shot a range of blue's...... currently sns135

  15. Was at local fun show yesterday.....

Saw some no name cz75 magazines and very inexpensive...

Any one have any info and or opinions?

I didn't bring my cz to check function the the followers looked cheap, finish was different than stock or mec gars.

I was thinking maybe a little tuning, spring, follower and I have a less expensive set of beater/ training mags......
